Literally iNSTEAD and Xymphony are the two most surprising and impressive songs on this album. They're just amazing. AND WE GOT THE OLD XH CREEPINESS BACK. I've missed it so much.

The second I heard Jooyeon's "tease me, please me" line, I scrambled to Muse to find what that reminded me of. And it sounds JUST like Muse's Muscle Museum from their 1999 album Showbiz. The vocals, the progression, just all of it is so reminiscent of that song and the chorus. Side note, if XH covered Muse I would literally ascend to Heaven.

I think this song compliments Love and Fear, especially as this one comes before Love and Fear. We know that LaF was about a toxic love, one that was salty and sweet, their partner being an angel and then a devil. This one being before that song seems to be when the singer of LaF first met their partner. The singer talks about how the partner made everything in their life much clearer, they were imperfect before the partner, and maybe the singer even saw the partner as some kind of savior which fed into an obsession. The sweetest melody being the whispers in the singer's ear about how everything is better now that they have the partner. But then that ties into LaF, with the partner being controlling and manipulative, the singer wanting to escape but still finding comfort in the daily routine of being controlled.
