The thing Lee Know ate and made the really bad face at was umeboshi - pickled plum. Its SUPER sour and strong in flavour. Its nice as a sort of... flavour added to stuff, but to just eat it itself is a bit much. The food they were saying is nice because it has protein was natto - fermented soybeans. It doesnt taste bad but its hard to get past the super strong smell and the texture of it... its beans in slime. It looks like larvae lol. The place they were staying was a ryokan - traditional japanese style hotel, which means there is usually an onsen (hot spring) and you have futons instead of beds. You get a room with the tatami floor (straw mat floor) and a small table for sitting at and then you just lay out the futon on the floor wherever you want when you go to use it. I've only stayed at a couple of ryokans but they are always so nice! Its really relaxing and the food is always good because you get basically the japanese equivalent of an "english breakfast" with rice and miso soup and a bunch of various vegetable and fish dishes and its delicious!

I don't know if I could eat something that looks and feels like larva lol. Other than that, it sounds like I'd love to stay at a ryokan.

Five brothers?! On the behalf of all siblings with brothers, I feel for you. I only had two, and yet the managed to make growing up... quite an experience.
