Carl & The Engines vol.9 (Patreon)
Content
At Vicarstown, Rosie the little tomboy tank engine was busy shunting while Ryan had arrived with a goods train.
Both were used to the sounds of passengers bustling about, making noise as they moved up and down the station. But today, a woman was making quite the commotion—loud enough to hear even over the whistles of other engines.
Frida Casagrande, eyes full of tears and a heart full of joy, was looking on as her son reunited with his friend, Adelaide Chang, now an eleven-year-old girl.
The girl’s mother, Becca Chang, wasn’t quite as dramatic as Frida, but still carried the same feelings. Meanwhile, Carl wanted this moment to last forever. Five years of writing letters to each other didn’t compare to finally getting to see and hug his friend in person after so long.
And the best news of all? This time, Adelaide wasn’t going anywhere. As it turned out, Becca was a zookeeper and the Sodor Wildlife Centre on Edward’s Branch Line was hiring. Becca applied for work and was soon recruited on their staff.
Therefore, in order to make it easier on the Changs, they had decided to buy a house on Sodor and move there. That meant that her husband, Stanley, would have to apply as a driver for the North Western Railway after serving as Spencer’s personal driver on the Mainland for so many years.
But seeing his little angel being so happy was all the convincing Stanley needed to know that he and his family had made the right call.
