Carl & The Engines vol.12 (Patreon)
Content
On one late Spring day, where the air was crisp and the warmth of the Sun was a pleasant experience, Carl and Adelaide knew that this was the perfect season to go to the beach to enjoy the sights and sounds of the crystal blue oceans and the feeling of the toasty yellow sand beneath their feet.It had been five years since Adelaide and her family moved to Wellsworth, and after hearing Carl talk about his visits to Bluff’s Cove in the past, she wanted to see it for herself. The day before their planned trip, Adelaide had stayed at Carl’s place the night before. Unfortunately, they were in for a rather rude awakening when Carl’s alarm clock had woken them up later than expected! A sleepy Carl had set the wrong time the night before and now the two were nearly a half hour behind schedule! Both of them knew that this was bad news—if they arrived at the beach later than they wanted, there was a good chance that beachgoers could take up all the best spots. The train from Tidmouth to Haultraugh, that they intended to take, was long gone, and they had to use the bus services in order to make it to Haultraugh before the passenger train could depart to their destination at the beach at Bluff’s Cove.Thankfully, by the time the two made it to Haultraugh, Oliver the Great Western Engine was still taking in passengers. He had been enjoying his day so far, and couldn’t wait to talk about it with his trusty breakvan, Toad.Meanwhile, his friend Donald, one of the Scottish Twin Engines, rushed by, hauling a line of trucks behind him. They were certainly having a better time than Carl, who was still at the blunt end of Adelaide’s chiding over nearly making them miss their train…
