The fact that Itachi was going to mind control Sasuke as a last resort if Sasuke learned the truth is one of the elements that make him a complex and interesting character. He's balancing two things he cares about. He wants to handle everything himself, and create the best outcome. Not saying it's a good thing but I can see where he's coming from

Long rant incoming. This opening is probably top 10 for me. But, my GOD I was waiting for you to see this fight. The fact that Itachi is able to keep up with Naruto in that mode shows you how strong he is without his illness. Itach is such a genius man this shit shocked me so much years ago and made me like Itachi even more than I already did. But, yeah using Shisui’s genjutsu to manipulate Sasuke to the good side would have been fucked and it wouldn’t be him. I hate when people say Itachi is overrated like he deserves to be this loved. Also the Uzumaki clan are distant blood relatives of the senju basically like distant cousins. Also a healthy version of Nagato with the rinnegan using all the pain jutsu himself nasty work truly Op character as well. Seeing Jiraya’s soul with Nagato hurts me everytime. Itachi’s speech to Naruto always feels me with confidence and hope honestly, hearing him put so much trust in Naruto to the point where he says you have the soul of Shisui beautifully done peak. This is most definitely some of my favorite episodes in the war arc. Never forget your friends🫶🖤🔥🔥🫡🫡

Wtf I recall Itachi using the crow to break from edo tensei mind control but i didnt that it was originally planned for Sasuke, crazy. Alana is right saying that it wasnt the best path to walk down but Actually it goes along with what Itachi preaches, which is Konoha´s peace and the greater good, and yeah he always put Sasuke first but i guess you always too got to have a plan b if everything fails, thats just how great Itachi was, and he aint done yet

I think Naruto thanking Itachi after almost putting Sasuke in a permanent genjutsu for the rest of his life is so out of character. Also reminder that if Naruto never brought back Tsunade to the Leaf, Sasuke would still be in coma thanks to Itachi. I also think covering up the truth behind the massacre to the villagers is wrong idk. And as always screw Kabuto.

The fact that it took Itachi dying and coming back to life to see everything he did was an abject failure. How could it not be when the plan necessitated the death of his entire clan and repeated traumatization of his own brother? And in the worse case scenario Sasuke would have had to be brainwashed too! Itachi's genius was his own worse enemy. It made him bear far too much alone until he lost the forest for the trees; The peace he was protecting was meant to be for the happiness of everyone in the village, his family and himself included. Given all that: It's amazing that Itachi can actually entrust Sasuke issue to Naruto (This man has trusted 1 Shisui and no one else in life 😭). No wonder he tells Naruto to rely on comrades and not do everything himself. Literally Itachi's entire life was that. Despite kinda saying he only saw it after death, I don't think it's possible for him to come to his post-mortem conclusion unless he did see it in life. But I think his brain works in a way that would be like "MISSION MISSION MISSION, it's the only/best way etc...." and it destroys me to think about that part of him that saw the obvious flaws in the plan or hoped for better watching himself do this. 😭😭😭 10/10 character.

2026-09-07 13:00 After learning the truth about itachi so many episodes ago i find it strange that you still believed that he killed shisui but i guess since you did not have all the information its fair to assume that he did kill him. Also be sure not to skip episodes 451-458, because they are “fillers” but actually they are not and i am sure you will love to watch them.

This is why Itachi is my favourite character. Kishimoto did a good job with building his character to have intellect that doesn't feel like it's assisted by Kishimoto but something you just know Itachi can do and have.

The what-if here are so insane. What if Itachi and Shisui were still apart of the Leaf today as Jonin Leaders, What if Nagato never became Pain, would he be the strongest ninja alive? Such interesting characters and it feels like we barely scratched the surface on what could be possible for all for them. But of course Danzo had to ruin all their lives. #F**kDanzo

I'm never not gonna be amazed/disturbed at how easy it is for people in Naruto to rip out eyes and implant them on themselves or others 😭😭. Definitely not a verse for anyone with eye trauma related fears.

Idk why I never thought about this, since I have day dreamed about how powerful the Leaf would have been with a happy Uchiha clan. But you're absolutely right, he would have been so incredible and astute with his decisions/prioritization of the village/overall badass defender.
