I don't know if "force" is the right word, but I feel like the counter to your point is that if you have to bargain with the student/child every time you want them to do something they dislike, then that's even worse than them feeling "forced." It's great that Qifrey is so patient, but IMO he's essentially in a parental role to these girls here. So I feel there needs to be some level of implicit obedience/trust in what he tells them to do for them to grow, which I think is part of what O. was getting at. I think Qifrey definitely errs on the side of being a friend to the girls rather than being an authority figure, but sometimes kids need to be pushed into doing things that challenge their existing immature mindsets and I feel like it's counterproductive for them to push back at him like Richeh and Agott seem to feel free to do when something goes against what they want. Either way, it makes it feel real that he is having these struggles with raising the kids, even if it can feel frustrating to watch sometimes. I'm glad Coco is there to show her a different point of view, and I liked how they tied in how you appreciate art more when you learn how hard it is yourself. Especially with drawing, the primary way anyone good learns is to draw a ton from reference, so it's something she'll have to overcome. Tbh I'm kinda surprised she's at an atelier at all if unwilling to learn from external material, since I'd think that'd be the whole point of being at a school like that.

Im so sad that the seasons almost over already, I think it would have benefited alot from a 24 ep first season or even a split cour, feels like its ending as we are picking up intrigue. But i also understand because the quality has been consistently SO SO high throughout the whole thing that a shorter season still feels fair
