This is more like a whole bunch of threads hanging from that cliff.. Qifrey, Alaira, Agott/Richeh/Euini, also Tartah and Olli‘s and some backstories. So it feels more like a mid-season finale and I would not be surprised if it is continued within the year. OTOH season 1 covers a third of the available manga already, to keep pace with that a yearly release of 12-13 eps would fit. But I do hope a 2nd cour/season comes sooner even if there is a longer wait after that. Anyway, it has earned it‘s place alongside Frieren and Dungeon Meshi in the Fantasy Big 3 and i will wait for more, including your reactions ofc. For the summer season there is a whole bunch of sequels for me, including „Polar Opposites“, which is a clear recommendation. Ghost in the Shell is not a continuation, but aims to be the first faithful adaption of the manga, so it‘s safe to watch without anything previous. Nevertheless, the original movie is a classic and I‘d highly recommend to watch it, and Innocence, the second movie; also the Stand Alone Complex series is really good (other sequels for me include Bleach, Mushoku Tensei, Tanya the Evil). Of the new anime, Smoking behind the Supermarket with You looks like a nice surprise, slow paced but fun(ny). There are already 12 episodes out, though shorter (8-17 minutes each, including full op/ed). And I will be watching I Want to Love You till Your Dying Day which has an interesting setup.
