My one and only introduction to Beavis and Butthead was this movie when I was 10 and haven't touched the franchise since rewatching it this week. Never watched King of the Hill either, that probably would have been more speed. Never knew the Mike Judge connection until like 6 years ago. Anyway, I have a really weird vivid memory of renting this from Blockbuster while having an exchange student stay with me for a week (I think he actually rented it). No idea why. But it was watched several times in succession over the weekend, well into the night. Definitely felt like something I was NOT supposed to watch at the time. It's a really great joke to have 2 completely different movies going on at the same time that are related but does NOT give a shit about the other half of the story whatsoever. But more than anything I am ready to become elucidated on how a show like this gets greenlit in the first place. Like I feel like I already know the answer but still kind of can't believe it.

I’m 45 years old and listening to this, so there isn’t much that I can possibly add. Except to say that this podcast is responsible for me falling down a very deep weekend hole in search of a thing called The King Turd Collection. Worth every penny.

The drifters in the desert scene hits different for me now. Im an independent wrestler in maryland, a few years back I was in a tag team and we had a good series of matches with wwf/e legends The Headbangers, we were nervous as all hell the first time....till we met em I always reference this scene when talking about it because it was like we met our long lost dads/future selves

You guys should watch the second movie. Like Alex said, it's not as good, but it has its moments.

First: To any young impressionable folk reading this; don’t. Second, on the topic of super soaker flame throwers, I found windshield wiper concentrate worked better than gasoline, particularly BMW’s brand back in the mid-90’s. Of course this got “grounded for life” from super soakers after I set the aluminum garage door on fire. What makes this all even better in context of the film, I was put up to this by the two neighborhood teen boys that happened to be very Bevis and Butthead-esque. To the point that, when I first saw the show, I exclaimed to my dad “it’s Seth and Brett!” He had to sit down from laughing so hard, which got me laughing too and is my lasting memory of the show. Gods, the ‘90’s were a time.

It really was and is still great satire. The new film is also better than it has a right to be.

Revisiting this a few years ago, I was surprised how much I still loved it. New movie has some great stuff, but it's just not as consistent as Do America.

Brian Streleckis

Very cool. What's your wrestler name, if you don't mind me asking?
