There's an awful lot of rambling this week about GameCenter CX, resuscitating your Commodore 64, children enjoying the gaming classics, uploading your street-corner CDs to archive.org, the simple joy of the Sears catalog, and why you should never ask Google a question again.

I really need someone to investigate that “fans of the puzzle game genre” effect that is all over guides these days. The weird thing is, the solutions are accurate and a human must have been involved, so how does this happen? Give me the secret these sites don’t want us to know.

FYI for others: On the Patreon landing page, the video looks like it isn't accessible, but you can hit play and it works. It shows up if you click on the post. Works fine for me. A little odd behavior on the page embed it seems.

I stop at the store with my earbuds in when I'm on a walk often, but I never talk on them in public, I exclusively use them to listen to music/podcasts. Also, I pause the music and turn the pass-through on so I can hear everything that's happening around me while in the store even though they're still in my ears. I just hate having to take them out constantly if I have to interact with someone, it's way easier to just tap the thing so I can hear.

GHOST VOICES

I pay a small yearly membership to a local indie theater where you get 2/3rd priced admission and a free small popcorn. It's great for the community. I really think the blockbusters are the ones suffering as the crowd going to see smaller movies will still go see them.

Speaking of the Gamecube, the Dolphin emulator is on its way to getting RetroAchievements support implemented. Might be my most anticipated project yet from that community.

Sears and its like that occupy the big units at malls are called anchor tenants! Another fun fact, from listening to 8-4 I learned that John does the English translation for Sakurai's YT channel
