i was at the bar this weekend and was talking about Sarah Palmer in the Return for like 30 minutes

This is the water and this is the well. Got D&D later so I don't think I'll be able to get into the Part 8 section before, but man I can't wait. But yes, Part 7 does certainly have some significant parts to it.

I'm pretty sure the finger Cole points at, the spiritual mound, is the same finger Leland said was 'dirty' on Laura in that dinner scene in FWWM.

When people talk about episode 8 I feel like Dan during the Fireboylt discussion, and I can't tell if I'm being fucked with or not. I love Twin Peaks to death, and even though I don't vibe with most of the Return I could find little bits to latch onto to keep me going. This episode was where I ceased to care where anything was going.

I've been waiting all 2 days for this! Since two days ago is when I finished episode 8 for the first time.

Brandon Melling

You're not being fucked with. It's absolutely not for everyone, but the people that love it fucking adore it. Myself included.

Just got done with the part 7 section of this episode and a little clarification of the Fat Trout trailer park that Harry Dean Stanton runs. This is the NEW Fat Trout trailer park which is in Twin Peaks. The original trailer park was either in Oregon or south west Washington where Teresa Banks was. So Harry Dean Stanton ended up moving his trailer park back home. Also the "It's yrev, very good to see you again old friend" count-off on Tammy's fingers, the second one is the spirit finger, as told by Cole. The second word is reversed, and I'm fairly certain it's only the ring finger that the prints are reversed - not all of them

I choked on my food laughing the second doogie hahaha

And now that I'm done with part 8 portion, my initial viewing I saw the woodsmen as healing Mr C and that the bob orb went back in. Also, the MC of the road house definitely comes back in one of the funniest scenes in the show. And for what it's worth I see Laura as something of a sin-eater concept and is easing or releasing something in people so much that everyone loves her, and part of her darkness is that not just child abuse. And maybe the town being a little darker and sick might be part of that as well.

Did anyone else notice the GABRIEL KNIGHT 2 cameo in episode 7? The nurse taking care of Beverly's husband is Judith Drake, who played Mrs. Smith, the psychic tarot-reading half of the Midwestern exorcist couple that help Grace.

I think Alex's subconscious was onto something. He isn't actually Dougie, but also not fully Cooper yet, so an amalgam of the two. A Doogie.

NIN nerd checking in with a bunch of trivia! - I can't speak on the lyrics, but at least the music for "She's Gone Away" was in fact written for Twin Peaks. It was actually the second track they wrote; the first attempt was more of going for more of a dreamy, Twin Peaks-y vibe and David Lynch said it wasn't right and requested something nastier. - There's been speculation about whether the first pass also ended up on the trilogy of EPs "She's Gone Away" is on, but I haven't heard about any confirmation. "This isn't the Place" seems like the most likely cut to my ears. - "The Nine Inch Nails" was a flub by the announcer that as obviously too perfect not to include. - NIN has always been Trent's baby with an evolving live band, but Atticus Ross was made an official second member around the time of this show. I believe the 90s live line-up with Vrenna and others were included in the RnR Hall of Fame induction per Trent's request. - Joey Castillo I think was filling in here because Ilan Rubin, the regular drummer for the last decade or so, wasn't available. Joey's a machine but this is the only time I'm aware of him playing with NIN. - Trent, Atticus, and Mariqueen (along with Rob Sheridan, who is currently designing crazy-ass visuals for Pearl Jam concerts) had another band, How to Destroy Angels. They were fucking great and come totally recommended to anyone who likes trippy electronic music. Disclaimer: I didn't bother looking any of this up, so there might be some details wrong above.

Also, shout out to Alex for showing Green Room some love, that movie is so damn great.

when he said "dew-gee" my brain broke.

I wonder if the description that Briggs gives to bobby about that grand palazzo in that dream he had was what we finally saw in the room senorita dita and the fireman were (the white lodge)

I LOVE THE WATCHCAST AND I LOVE TWIN PEAKS!!!

Tristan Best

I've been enjoying this season more than ever on this re-watch after being a little mystified as it aired. It's such a funny, comedic show at times and there are so many little things to notice. The vibes are just unlike anything else and the awkward dry comedy of all these Dougie scenes in office parks and suburbs and stuff is just very endearing to me, next to all of this grand mystery and darkness. Anyway this watchcast is a treat, and in my opinion, the best is still yet to come ☕👍

Episode 8 and The Nine Inch Nails gets all the glory, but episode 7 is where I was all in on this series. I was enjoying it, but after this it's all I wanted to watch. And the timing of Alex playing Rock Band/the Rammstein connection is terrifying.

I’m a week behind, but any Cobra Kai fans recognize the teenage boy the girl was walking with in New Mexico?

Mixtape

Almost all the extras and one-line bit actors come off as non-actors who just really wanted to be in the show. Did Lynch let a ton of normie megafans onto the set?

Charles S.

at 1:52 vinny is saying that lynch is using pre made video effects for the bomb scenes. to me these scenes look like in camera special fx, things like lynch has been making since the 70's. is there any truth to lynch using premade effects or filters?
