This week, Blue Prince has snared a couple of us (sort of), another couple of us can't seem to stop playing AC Shadows, and... Gradius III makes a surprise appearance? In the news, the BDS Xbox boycott, the Marathon reveal, Oblivion Remastered media leaks, the PS5 is getting more expensive. Plus a New Zealand slang primer, whipping out your 3DS at the metal show, and more!

Spiritbox was a good show. and i too was looking forward to GEL and that was a bummer about the breakup. if you can catch Spiritbox on their own...do it

It’s a genocide, not a war.

Yeah, Alex, I went to the Metallica double show tour last year and it took a bit more effort than expected. For day two, I realized that I should probably hydrate, find a place where I can lean on stuff, and get a full night's rest. My legs and back were sore for days!

World War II was the war, the genocides in World War II included the holocaust and the nuclear warfare in Japan. Today, there are several genocides occurring in the region around, and including in, Palestine. The War is encompassing of several fronts and it’s confusing to many people because most government bodies have not recognized it as a war even though it’s clear we are in World War III. WWIII, by many political scientists, is representative of the conflicts ranging from Yemen to north Syria and Ukraine and Russia. The war occurring in Sudan is considered a genocide and a civil war. Don’t criticize video game journalists/podcasters for not being educated political scientists. We can only be happy they recognize the situation and call attention to it even though we know some of their family and friends aren’t aligned to their views on the topic.

Maybe add Balatro to your mindset on Blue Prince runs. Some times you're working towards a particular "build" but the RNG seed was leaning a different direction. I had a way to add more dig spots one day but it wasn't until very late that I could get a shovel. That said I'm enjoying the challenge but it's a slow burn for me. I'm only on day 8 and while I've got some carryover progress, I feel I can only do one or two runs per sitting. It will go about an hour per day and I feel like it gets me taxed trying to contemplate various things. Plus it doesn't help when I misremember and have a "Oh, that was something that happened 'yesterday'" when I go running off looking for a room not currently in my house.

Just wanted to say I really, really, really do appreciate you guys discussing the BDS boycotts with sensitivity, understanding, and compassion. I just want to say- I would argue that this is not simply a war/conflict but absolutely a genocide of the Palestinian people, though I understand that this is maybe not the ideal venue to litigate this. I appreciate that Alex explicitly uses the term "war crimes", and you guys call out that this is about the future of an entire people. I know you guys are good people and are doing your best, and again I really do appreciate that this was discussed on the show. For folks looking for more in-depth discussion on the genocide in Gaza and colonialism in general, I would really recommend the Red Nation podcast, just fyi

Hah, the listener complaining about AI.... While I get it, AI research has been going on since the 1960's? Earlier? Gaming has been stealing the term AI from actual research on Artificial Intelligence the same way LLMs are doing it "to gaming". The true horror is LLMs are still doing it to real AI research, too

So if we all boycott Microsoft and then they lay off a bunch of people because their revenue is down. Would you guys get on here and complain about them laying people off because of it? The games industry is not doing great about growth and retaining people. I’m wanna add I’m not defending anything going on over seas just think the games industry will be the first people fired if Microsoft gets hit hard by this boycott.

The GEL stuff sucked I saw them once or twice. A shame they were one of the gnarliest hardcore bands and putting in some good work.
