Pro tip for DK with a pro controller. Set the left back grip button to the map button. You never have have to move your hands in this configuration. You're welcome.

Man, I am clearly alone in this but to me DK:B is so utterly ugly I can barely stand looking at it. The colors are garish and when you’re smashing stuff it’s just a complete visual mess. Yeah, it’s cool the Switch 2 can push a bunch of particles but the screen just looks like the inside of a rock tumbler filled with crayons most of the time. And the camera underground might not impede play but is a visual nightmare - its most elegant solution, when it is functioning at its best, is to clip outside the bounds of the level so it looks like you’ve fallen through the map. Bleh. I know I am alone in this. And I don’t want to convince anyone to dislike the game. Please, continue to love it. I just had to voice my annoyance as I don’t understand why I’m the only one who feels this way.

I actually felt this way in the starting zone but it went away for me as I progressed. Not sure how far along you are.

Vinny is right, Bananza is good with a few great aspects. Separating critique from actual enjoyment (I am enjoying myself immensely) but folk calling this one of the greatest platformers of all time are 100% in the hype cycle.

Michael

Later zones are definitely better but I’m with you for the most part. I feel mentally overloaded a lot of the time, the terrain is just a collage of geometry. Outside of some of the little town square areas there’s not much coherence to the majority of what you’re traversing.

I keep hearing the excuse that ongoing server costs is the reason for aggressive monetization and eventual shuttering of multiplayer games like Splitgate. But I can recall a time when this wasn’t an issue for companies because the players ran or rented the servers. Oh, wait, I still can play those games and did with Day of Defeat: Source a few weekends ago with some old clamates from my high school and college days. I am really, really tired of fun games like Splitgate that have an active, albeit smaller, community playing them and they get shut down due to cost or trying to shunt them to the next, newest thing.

How could Alex not mention that Larry from Hellraiser is Garak in DS9?
