After 12 straight hours of drumming and streaming, this podcast was always going to be a big debrief on Extra Life, so we get into all kinds of subjects like the technical production issues, Alex's drum setup, the state of Clone Hero and charting your own songs, accidentally rate-limiting yourself, the DMCA's war on sick children, and more.

The death stick! Idiots will use it as a way to power a zone in their home from a generator

So at least if you're connecting to the same circuit that is wired correctly, the male-male three prong cable does nothing. You're just connecting line-line, neutral-neutral, and ground-ground. Now if you're trying to put two circuits together or the wiring is incorrect, then you can get bad things. Tangentially, I was swapping out some three-way smart switches in my house over the break and griping because when they built my house in 1999, they didn't put the "dumb switch" in how it's normally done so it's always a logic problem to figure out how to fit them in correctly. Also they crimped the original ground wires together so you can't really just add a new ground with a wire nut like a normal person would.
