This week's show is all about keeping old stuff running, mostly old cars and old arcade hardware. There's just something liberating about it!

I have had very similar experiences owning a 2005 Evo 8 for 20 years now as well, and I know the cars are very similar, I didn't know Alex had a 2005 as well. Definitely some finicky issues that a lot of mechanics aren't experienced with dealing with, but it does sound like Alex worked with good people at least who just may not have dealt with the type of car as much. I was very lucky to find a popular shop that worked specifically with 4G63 engine in my car which made a huge difference properly diagnosing turbo issues specifically, and also rebuilding the car completely to 500hp when the engine blew, with a new engine block and all. Still running basically perfect 10 years after the rebuild, the mechanics you work with make a big difference and it can be worth the inconvenience.
