Glad to see that someone else struggled with Outer Wilds, I had virtually the same experience as Mark. Something about the way the information is laid out and connected in the world was really unintuitive for me, and it got very frustrating because like Mark, I felt like everything else in the game was right up my alley and so well done. Anyway I ended up getting a few hints from a friend who played and that was enough to propel me to the end, and I must say, it's worth it. So, Mark, I encourage to keep trying it! You may be hesitant to look up clues, but I think in the case of this game there's just so much info that can be easily missed that you may be working from bad assumptions (like I was). In any case, I would love to see a video where you dig into the game and your problems with it if you manage to make it through. Cheers!

I just purchased Hitman 2 with the Hitman 2016 legacy pack a month ago, based on seeing them mentioned so often in your videos. First time playing a Hitman game and oh man, these levels are so damn clever. This is probably the most hooked I've been with a game since Breath of the Wild. Really happy to see IOI is continuing to add quality content to it this far after release, too! Thanks Mark for bringing the genius of these games to my attention!

I have the same issue with beats/rhythm and was happy to find that feature also. I was about to put the game aside before I found it. I then really enjoyed the rest, altho I felt like it was easier and I sorta cheated.

Seeing as you cover the game in this playlist, I just wanted to say that your 2015 video on how to structure a Mario Maker level really helped me get my bearings and be able to build my first Mario Maker 2 level after being stumped all weekend by all the options available (couldn't play the first one as I never had a Wii U). As for the controls, I find it quite confortable to build on the Switch screen as I'm not really drawn to playing this game on the TV anyway. I did buy a stylus in preparation for the game, and I'm glad I did. Really looking forward to see what you do in regards to SMM2 in GMTK. I find that it's a game particularily well suited to your type of analysis, and I'm sure you could help even more people find the necessary inspiration to start making levels, as your original video has done for me! PD: The code for the level I did yesterday following your guidelines is CNL-8L9-VPG, if you or anyone else reading this want to give it a try! :)

Ah no! I’ve been really looking forward to a hypothetical GMTK video on Outer Wilds, as it seemed like exactly the sort of game you’d love to dive into the design of - it’s worlds all focus on one mechanic, you progress and shortcut using knowledge, not upgrades - so it’s gutting to hear it just hasn’t clicked for you. Hope you can try again fresh in the future, as solving it’s labyrinthine central mystery through unearthing nomai scraps is the purest fun I’ve had this year.
