Current Release: October 19th 2026
The new Sims Updater v2.6.6 is now officially live! This latest release is fully optimized and running completely fine with no performance issues.
If you tried using the previous version recently, you likely ran into issues. The old version is now completely outdated and broken due to recent game changes. If you attempted to run it, your system might have flagged it with a "corrupted file" notification or triggered a "critical error" popup.
This is completely normal for an outdated build! The new v2.6.6 patch resolves all of those errors and restores full functionality.
⚠️ Requirements
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WINRAR!!!! Or else the files won’t download properly 💔
You must own and use the legitimate EA version of Sims 4
📥 Installation
Download the ZIP files. They should download as 2 zip files
Extract everything into your EXLUSION FOLDER and run both files from inside the folder. DO NOT REMOVE THEM. GO into the EA DLC unlocker and look for the setup.bat
It’s gonna open command prompt and from there you are going to install the unlocker for ‘The Sims 4’Press the number 1 which will install the unlockerThen press number 2 which will install the config, it will take you to a separate tab, from there just enter the number for The Sims 4 Game.
Next you’ll run the sims 4 updater. This is your DLC. Check the box with the DLC’s you’d like installed. it’ll take some time depending on how many packs you want and download speed 🤞
‼️‼️ If Windows keeps flagging or removing the updater while you’re trying to download it, no worries!
An exclusion folder may help.
This has already helped multiple people who were having trouble getting the updater to fully download. I haven’t gotten many DMs about this recently, so I’m not sure how many people are still having the issue, but I wanted to leave this post here for anyone who purchases and runs into the same problem.
STEP 1: Create a New Folder
First, create a new folder on your Desktop.
Go to your Desktop
Right-click an empty area
Click New → Folder
Name it whatever you want
STEP 2: Add the Folder to Windows Security
Now you’re going to add that folder to your Windows Security exclusions
Open Windows Security
Click Virus & threat protection
Click Manage settings
Scroll down until you see Exclusions
Click Add or remove exclusions
Click Add an exclusion
Choose Folder
Select the Exclusion Folder you just created
Your folder is now added as an exclusion.
STEP 3: Change Your Browser’s Download Location ‼️
This part is important!
Open your browser and go to:
Settings → Downloads → Download Location
Change the download location to the Exclusion Folder you just created.
If your browser has an option that says “Ask where to save each file before downloading,” you can turn that on instead. When you download the updater, just make sure you select your Exclusion Folder as the location.
STEP 4: Re-download the Updater
Now go back and download the Sims 4 updater again.
Make sure you’re downloading it directly into the Exclusion Folder.
Once the download finishes, it should appear inside that folder and you can go ahead and extract it to your desktop.
Remember to ‘ALLOW’ once The Sims 4 updater RE-Downloads‼️
It may still block the file, so make sure to check your Protection History!
Go to Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history.
Find the detection for the file you just downloaded and click on it.
click Actions either:
Restore
Allow
click either of those and you should be good 👍
