Hey everyone,I just wanted to let you know that this is your last chance to get the monthly cardback reward on BMO Files. By just entering the game once each month, you'll unlock a special cardback that you'll get to keep even if you unsubscribe from Patreon in the future. On March 1st, there will be new card back to unlock, so log in now and play a few rounds to help me playtest the game.I'm currently planning on opening the game up to a wider free player audience this weekend. Not sure if that'll work out, but you can have dreams, right? Anyways, that's where the special card backs come in to show yourself as a supporter. The game has improved a lot over the past week. It now uses the same character graphics as BMO TV and Femdemic to visualize your and your opponents character. Applying cards to your opponent transforms their appearance.I hope you enjoy this new side project. I'll be back with more news soon.Best,Rel

I know you gotta sell things and engagement is a good thing, but FOMO and permanently missing stuff is a bit of a turn off for a patreon game :P

Rel.Pink

Well if you think so then that‘s ok. I don’t think this is as much fomo as the fomo that you see in mobile games. I’m just thinking about how to make it be a little bit cooler to be a patreon. There are a lot of mechanics like this that have gotten a bad name because they are used in an exploitative way in mobile games but that doesn‘t mean that using them in any way is automatically bad. It’s just a reward for being a patreon and there’s nothing else tied to it. So I disagree with you on this, but I get what you’re saying.

Phoenix

The problem is not rewards for being a patreon, that is fine and good and welcome. The problem is that If i don't play (like the xmas update) I lose out, despite the fact that I paid money and was a patreon for that month. Part of what I could get as a patreon is gone forever, fear of missing out.

Rel.Pink

Well sorry. It‘s not like it‘s a huge amount of content you’re missing. Same goes for the seasonal events. Keeping people engaged by new small things is important these days and if you don‘t like that I appologize, but I think it already is one of the least exploitative ways to market the patreon. Feel free to join us on the Discord though where I've asked about people's opinions about this kind of stuff before.

Also I think this is really more of a reward for play testing than it is a way to "sell" something or create nebulous "engagement".

well I mean I still get the idea of Fomo, but there's nothing you actually need to do. not even play a game. maybe that wasn't clear? you just open the app once, and that's it. But yes, I need people to playtest so rewarding them for that is also part of the idea, of course.

Phoenix

I tried. sorry for the distress.
