Yes! I've been waiting for you guys to get this far. The really big improvement is still a few episodes away but now with Spike and Dru here things are heating up. In general vampire power is partially from age and force of will, although nothing is ever clearly defined

First: The title 'School Hard' is an homage to the Bruce Willis movie 'Die Hard' ... bad guys invading your building, the hero crawling around in the air shafts, etc. Second: There is a lot happening between episodes that we will never see but get occasional references to, i.e. Buffy's reputation around the school with the faculty and students. Thus Snyder's reference to Buffy starting (or more accurately, ending) fights and cutting class. Third: The mysterious swinging door entrance to the Library. Sometimes we can lock it, some times we can't. In the Season 1 Finale, Cordelia was trying to hold it closed against the vampires and bit one who got his arm through. In this episode, the lock??? seems to hold just fine. Maybe they added a lock when they did the (extensive) repairs after Season 1. But wait...oops, that is in the future. Love all of your conspiracy theories about Snyder, the police, secret government agents, vampire cabals, etc. Keep it up. Sheer random chance is on your side to find the right combination.
