Hi guys, unfortunately for this one Mike had an emergency situation and couldn't make this or the next one... we were unaware of the plot or anything regarding this episode so that sucks!

Sometimes things are out of our control but the show must go on if there are at least 2 of us! Mike has caught up on his own and is aware of the content Thanks for understanding!

In the opening dream sequence as Buffy moves away from Willow you can hear Willow begin to speak French. This is a call back to Oz explaining that the only animal cracker animals that wear clothing are monkeys and that all monkeys speak French. Nothing to do with Xander lol. The reveal of Jenny was quite shocking to me since I love her character. Drusilla is scarier than Spike and would not want to deal with her.

The monkey was not Xander. It was a call back to Oz's riff in episode 10 on animal crackers and how the monkey is the only animal that wears clothes. Oz then said something about the hippo wondering where his pants were. Perhaps your copy didn't show Willow saying (in French subtitles) "Le hippo a pique ton pantalon." Literally "The hippopotamus has pierced/poked/prodded his pants." It is probably a colloquialism meaning something more profund than I can determine from my high school French from 50 years ago.

Thank you. You're right. I did some digging and a more accurate translation would be that Willow is talking to the monkey and says .... 'The hippo stole your pants.'
