Joe is mistaken saying that Baltar thinks Head Six is his subconscious. He's said that before, raising it as a possibility but when he got an MRI to scan for a Cylon chip, he explicitly rules it out: "Well your not a chip, that we've established. Sharon being pregnant does suggest that you're more than a simple manifestation of my subconscious. I'm not crazy...then who...or what, are you?" Overall I think Joe's lost the plot on Baltar. Is he supremely selfish and prideful? Yes. But there was literally nothing he could have done when the Cylons landed except surrender. And not signing that death warrant would have just gotten him killed for no reason except to make people who hate him happy. If you want to blame him, blame him for ordering the settlement of New Caprica, not for not committing suicide.

8:32- and now you've seen the Adama Maneuver. Epic.

Three of the top sci-fi "space/battle" moments ever in my opinion...1) The Adama Maneuver, 2) Pegasus charges in for the rescue, and 3) Death of Pegasus.

It's funny how the Pegasus is only in the show for like a span of 10 episodes but it's the focus of at least two of the emotional high points of the show. That moment when the Galactica is getting beat to shit and it zooms out seems obvious in hindsight that it was a setup for Lee to come back but when this aired we had no idea what was going to happen and it was just like "FUCK YEAHHH!!!" when you see those missiles launch from off camera. The whole episode was phenomenal especially given this was back in like 2007. The Galactica jumping directly into the atmospehere and the soundtrack with Bear McCreary's floor tom spamming. As far as I know this show put him on the map in his career, this and Eureka, before Walking Dead ever aired or Black Sails or tons more of his stuff. As you already know, the whole 4 episodes (and like. 1.5 years) the fleet spent on New Caprica is going to inform the entire rest of the series and the characters will all be deeply impacted. Great reaction and still it's fun to see your theories when you feel like they might have been wrong, so far. Now that I'm here on Patreon I'll probably just subscribe too.

ADAMA MANEUVER BABYYYYYYY

Awesome episode. Awesome Reaction. Thanks for letting us see it. That happy sparkle in Mikey's eyes will stick with me FOREVER. I could see in the moment Mikey was trying to feel sad for Ty, but too happy watching Ellen go out to quite get there. And that red hot poker jump into the atmosphere got proper respect from all of you! Thanks Mike, Thanks Joe, Thanks Mikey. Made my day reliving the moment through your excitement. The visuals of that scene broke the internet when it originally aired. And anyone who's played in a band would understand Leoben. Starbuck is The Beatles rolled up in one. Leoben is just a love sick fan boy. Chrisdfoor? Haven't used that one in a lonnng time. ( Dendood on YouTube. )

Deanna 3 finding the baby means she decided not to nuke the place and nuking was more of a scorched earth tactic. They didn't want to leave a habitable place behind. Like poisoning watering holes so they can't go back to it. The Cylons can nuke themselves and just resurrect and pick up the chase with a whole new army and fleet. Now the remnants of the colonial fleet are back to square one but with a heavily battered Galactica. To Joe's point about Cylon motivation for the occupation, they are just as traumatized and flawed at their creators. That is kind of the point of the series. "This has all happened before, and it will all happen again." until one of these sides grows beyond this age old feud they will be locked in an eternal self-destructive cycle. Good call out from Mikey about the Cylons not wanting to casually die. I really liked Cavill mentioning that they feel their deaths. Between him and the Scar episode last season, it gives a more bleak picture of resurrection. It makes you understand why some of the Cylons might reach towards a faith based system to help them cope with a pretty heavy existential crisis. Man made them and the rejected them, and they can't die but they feel every death. If that was me, I'd start looking for meaning anywhere, even in the flawed faith based system of the creators that I resent. It also sort of explains why even the monotheistic faith they created is in direct opposition to the polytheistic faith of the colonies. ...I love this and shows like it that make me at least rub a few neurons together.
