How has Mikey never seen The Matrix?! I don't watch many movies but somehow even I managed to see this about 20 times 😅

This is one of those movies that brought about a complete and total shift in the way we look at and think about movies. There haven't been many of them through history, 2001 was one, Alien was another, and a few others dotted around, it also might be the last time it happened. Glad I was the target audience at the time :) One thing you can't unsee with this movie, as well as it has held up (it's called production values, Hollywood) is that whenever Keanu does wire work he reflexively grabs the wires, it's kinda funny.

Heh, perfect timing. It's easy to think of these movies in the context of now as opposed to the context of what else was going on in cinema at the time they were made - Alien, 2001, this, and a few (but not many) changed cinema for ever, even shocked audiences into new ways of thinking about movies. I'm not old enough that I was around for Alien (or Aliens) and I actually think that Aliens is a better overall more rounded movie than Alien, but these movies it is hard to overstate how important they are in cinema history.
