I think this is the 2nd time as ever see a child vampire in the Buffyverse. I believe the only other time we've seen a child vampire was in season 1 of Buffy - the anointed one and he was killed by sunlight aswell by Spike.

Love this episode as well it nice to see Darla to some kind of redemption in the end and sacrifice herself for her son
