The Cylons are flesh in a metal body. If you have seen the original series, you know about Centurians who were only metal. Those are the ones that evolved into the "tosters" and "Skin-jobs".

Another great reaction! You were asking about the opening credits. The part with the drums show clips are from only that particular episode. I hope you won't consider this a spoiler, but they continue throughout the entire series except for a few episodes at the beginning of season 2. Ron Moore saw them done during a 70s British show called Space 1999 and decided to use the "feature" for this show. He listened to the outcry against them for a little bit, but I guess he just changed his mind about it. The music will always give you the same queue as to when it's over and I've seen some creators do some wild air drumming over the segment. Is anyone up for that? lol! I've thought a lot about what Commander Adama said to his son about never leaving and I'm not sure that it is a fact. I think it is exactly what he felt at that moment and perhaps he felt that it was time to repair the damaged relationship that he had with Lee.

Once again great reaction! I wish in the future you guys give Space Above & Beyond a try. Great one year wonder that was cancelled way too soon for bad reasons. Owen Davies youtube channel has all 23 episode in remastered high definition. You won't regret it.

Speaking of the opening credits, not sure if someone mentioned this already but it's actually a recitation of the Gayatri Mantra from the Rig Veda: oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ suvaḥ tat savitur vareṇyaṃ, bhargo devasya dhīmahi, dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt, roughly translating as "We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may He/She/It enlighten our minds."

The "organic learning" that Joe mentioned goes even further than you know. Think about what you know about Cylons so...
