Lol Mike "I do not consent. HR." This is one of my favorite episodes of season 1 and I've been looking forward to seeing your reaction to it. Leoben fascinates me. We also get a glimpse of Kara's religious side here and I think the ideas you guys threw around about her relating to Leoben are spot-on, and something I never pieced together myself before. Obviously having seen the show a few times, I can't really comment on any of your Cylon theories, so all I can really say is I'm glad you're enjoying it so far lol. When Leoben says the military teaches you to dehumanize people, it really just hits hard and takes me back to those first few years after 9/11. This show is so clearly a product of its time in such a unique and powerful way, it just sends me to the days of Freedom Fries. Whenever I watch BSG, I try to remember that a lot of it was a response to both 9/11 and the USA's actions post-9/11, and a lot of it still resonates today. Good stuff.
