Muggins

Wow thanks. Was not expecting this on a Monday. 😁🤗

Josh

You're welcome 😊

Muggins

I'm very grateful, much appreciated, Josh. 🌷😄

Josh

Houses in the UK are built for Insolation so we only have small windows really..it’s an absolute bastard for the few months a year when it’s hot 💀 but it’s nice and warm for the rest of the year lol

AWR93

What a lovely surprise, some car share on this Mandy Monday! 😊

irreverend

Ground floor windows often just the top will open, I assume for burglary prevention reasons.

Muggins

The alternating of shows actually worked out pretty well, Mandy. IMHO they didn't feel dragged out at all. And it has made a few great but short shows last a little longer. The variety keeps things interesting for everyone. Great idea, thanks. No complaints here if you wanted to do it again. 🤗

irreverend

I understand his reaction there to the conversation about what they are. I've been him myself in fact quite recently. No happy ending, still friends which is all I wanted, but just don't see her much now. C'est la vie.

BobSandwiches

Mandy: "It rains so often here. It rains every weekend"... 95% of viewers: "Are you taking the p*ss?" Typical week in UK: Monday⛈️, Tuesday🌦️Wednesday🌧️; Thursday⛈️; Friday☔; Saturday ⛈️ ; Sunday ☔... 😉

There was just over a year between the broadcast of this episode (2nd May 2017) and the finale (28th May 2018). I think our Mandy (Cane Lane) should wait 13 months before reacting to the next episode so she gets the true experience. I like this ending. It's realistic. You hear a lot of people talking about the rise of incels (involuntary celibate) gentleman and the problems that this can cause in society. These people often blame gentlemen like social media influencer Andrew Tate for making young men think young women owe them sex or a relationship. I think programmes like Friends have to share some of the blame though. Most people will not have a life long relationship and will die alone. The more media that depicts that, the better. Thank you Peter Kay's Car Share (or car pool as an American would say) for a realistic depiction of relationships and driving.

Jeffrey44

She won't know what a ground floor is. She is American, they don't believe in ground floors or 13th floors.

irreverend

Aside from how much British TV she's watched (so I'm sure she knows anyway), I'd say it's pretty clear from context what I mean :) Now saying first floor and meaning US second floor, that's confusing :P

Jason Webb

This was the last episode of Car Share I saw when it originally aired in 2017. Due to work commitments, I never saw the finale, so, after waiting 7 years, I'll finally see it when you do. I need that closure.

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

Pretty common occurrence to lock yourself out of the house. I've had to go in thorough one of those windows before. Landed facefirst on the sofa hahah. When you said the Burrowers - it was "Borrowers" a group of tiny people who live in the walls of a house in an old film called The Borrowers. It's been sweltering heat over here. 🥵 We've had a couple of riots across the country, load of idiots basically. 😞 Nice lipstick btw. 🤗 Just enjoying speculating on what approach Mandy would take to asking someone out. 🤣 I'd imagine there'll be shouting and maybe grabbing hahaha What do you listen to in the car Miry?

Karl Rocks

Incel is such a horrible term which has such a negative connotation for the large amount of people who are perfectly normal and well adjusted but who simply havn't found a partner. Reality is proper relationships are much harder and have a lot more ups and downs than those portrayed on TV and yes sadly many folk for a variety of reasons will ultimately end up living a single life. That said I think most of us (I am a confirmed batchelor) don't mind a bit of escapism from reality. I mean isn't that the whole point of TV shows anyway? Life is hard it's nice to forget about that for a little while. I for one can happily do that without it giving me any unrealistic expectations.

Mandy Cane Lane

Lol! It was supposed to be uploaded for Sunday, but I didn't make it 😅🤭

Mandy Cane Lane

Hmmm... ok, but it is crazy to me that you then rely on 1 exit/entrance. They did mention a back door, but she was locked in from there too.. 😅 Now that I think of it, most places in Argy have bars on all the windows for saftey reasons so they don't work for exiting/entering either.... I have just personally never lived in a home where I couldn't climb out the window if I needed to. 😅🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Hmm... a lot of what I just read would indicate that people who don't find a life partner are unfulfilled, but I disagree. The goal in life shouldn't be about finding someone else to be with until the end, it should be about living your own life to the fullest and finding things to enjoy and excell at. Yes, we are social beings, so friends, family and loved ones are important, but that shouldn't be the overall goal. It is unfair to depend on another human being for ones own happiness. People come and go in life and that is perfectly ok. If however one does find a partner, it should be someone that enhances your already fulfilled life, not a Basil - Sybil situation. In Argy they often say "Better alone than in bad company" and at this point in my life, I could not agree more. 🙌🏻✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHHAHA! Your pic is amazing!! And yes, I missed my Sunday mark, so Monday it is! 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

I know ground floors!! Haha. Also, that is unfortunate Irreverend, but sometimes, that is just how life goes... C'est la vie 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh, awesome input! Thank you! 🤗 I guess stuff is different from my end sometimes 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Ok, fair enough... but what I didn't say is that when it starts it also lasts for days. 👀 Haha! So... do you guys wash your cars? 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh exciting!!! If all goes as planned I get it done for this weekend!! 🤗🩵

Mandy Cane Lane

Ohh, I do love horses! 😍 Also yeah, I get locking yourself out is common, but she locked herself IN!! That is crazy to me... in a fire you have to have your keys!? Ludacris! Also thank you! 🤗🩵 I listen to music in my car only when I am alone, and I have a playlist or just link my phone to listen to Youtube music. Driving music must be upbeat music! 😎

AWR93

Haha thanks 😜 it was time for a change - *enter* bullshit man🦸‍♂️🤣

Jeffrey44

Can we talk about the phrase "confirmed batchelor"? I believe it means homosexual and I don't know if that is what Mr Rocks meant when he used it above.

BobSandwiches

We do - UK rain is clean and usually gentle - not powerful enough to wash a car. Sounds like you guys may have a serious pollution problem if your rain is coming down with mud already included in it...😱🙀

Karl Rocks

Oh does it mean that? Fair enough my bad people around me have used it wrongly over the years obviously. I meant it in the sense of having been through good and bad relationships and everything that comes with them I've decided it's not going to be for me.

Karl Rocks

"Better alone than in a bad company" are wise words Mandy. I have friends who are stuck in bad relationships they are unhappier in those situations than I am in mine. There is no right or wrong way to live life there is only what feels right for each one of us at any given time.

Julian

I agree with Mandy, you don’t have to live life feeling like something is missing. There’s no sadness about it. That said, if people feel that way hopefully they find what they are looking for. I also hate the term incel and what people like Andrew Tate stand for. And some high profile politicians, without naming names, who think that people without children are completely worthless.

Julian

Interesting that you said you can’t see the number of video views. Just ask everyone to drop a like. I always assume that people do that anyway. I hit like on everything I watch to keep track of what I’ve watched. I do the same on YouTube.

Jonathan Davies

Yer all houses have back doors although I’m know realising that me living in an apartment with only 1 front door and small windows means any exciting escapes I might need to make will involve me jumping through the glass action hero style 😳 We also have buildings that have bars on their windows in the UK but we call them prisons 👀😂

Remi

If I had the ability to edit I would so edit you into this Mandy, it's perfect because your name is in the dialogue and most of this is shot from the torso up like your webcam

Mandy Cane Lane

I started to do that on youtube to keep track as well. But I will not ask for likes, there is no need. If I need info I can just ask or make a poll. Thank you for the suggestion though 🤗✨️

Every time I hear the song Kayleigh, it takes me straight back to being 15 or 16. I left school in 1986, and for my English oral exam, while my classmates were talking about swimming, scouts, or the forestry commission, I chose Marillion and their album Misplaced Childhood, which Kayleigh is from. That album practically became the soundtrack of that summer, as I played it on repeat. Even now, it’s still one of my favourites, a timeless classic. As for the song they were both singing, it’s by Billy Ocean. While I wasn’t a big fan of his later work, Red Light Spells Danger is an absolute gem. Hopefully, it’s on your playlist too!
