Hi Mandy! Indeed, the Maypole is the center of a dance where people intertwine the ribbons. It is a European folk tradition, which may have its origins as far back as the iron age. No-one is quite sure. In many European countries, you can find ceremonies and celebrations involving the maypole, usually on May Day (May 1st) or sometimes the summer solstice (June 21st). Like many things, the tradition has died out in modern times, but there are still many villages in the UK and in Europe I'm sure, that still have a maypole and revere it's importance to the community and to tradition. You're much more likely to find this in a rural village than a large town or city.

Mandyyy! Are you gonna watch Junior Taskmaster? That could be a fun one to do maybe another day of the week. I think it's only gonna be 8 episodes so it wouldn't be a long commitment. It's airing at the moment, we've currently had 2 episodes. I was skeptical but the two episodes we've had so far have been really fun. Also I'm trying to keep my comments this season varied otherwise it will just be me simping for Sophie every week 😅

I was thinking about the lyric: 'Because I'm happy, clap along if you feel like a room without a roof.' I wonder if he's referring to the idiom 'blow the roof off,' which means to give a great performance that makes the audience go wild with enthusiasm—implying that he, or the person listening, is so happy they blow the roof off. Or maybe he was just trying to find a word that rhymed with 'truth.' I’m not sure. It's like the Def Leppard, the long jump, and the starting pistol situation all over again. If it’s the former, please be careful, we don't want you wrecking your new place before you’ve even moved in, but it is good that you are happy! 😁 Thank you, Mandy. 🤗🤗

I can see a resemblance to Anna Kendrick there. Following on from your room without a roof being an incomplete room, it reminded me about an old logic question about doors, what would you consider the ON/OFF states of a door to be? So if a door was closed, would you consider that door to be ON or OFF?

But wouldn't a closed door be essentially doing it's purpose, and therefore technically be on? I've seen arguments for both options and they both can be argued as correct to a degree. I just think it's one of those non-answer questions that depend on variables

From Google: "A door's essential and primary purpose is to provide security by controlling access to the doorway", which to me would be in a closed state

I so want to see Mandy go on this show. I'd pay money. 🤣 Maypoles, you weren't far off. The were used as part of the May-day celebrations dating back to pagen times. Villagers would dance and wrap ribbons around the pole to signify a unity of humans and nature and I believe this was a fertility ritual. They are found in the majority of English villages to this day. [Ec-static] is the word, darlin. I knew you'd find somewhere, so proud of you. 🤗 Bet you're looking forward to the days of rambling away to yourself, cooking dinner while dancing in your kitchen with no shame! I know I was. You will be stressed out cos you're about to move. Dont worry about it. 😴 Can't say I've ever tapped or tried to zoom in on my paper tho...🤣 My recommendations for single living: don't buy fresh veg until the day you need it. My Bread goes in the fridge. Don't need a toaster when I've got an air fryer. Buy stuff in bulk or make it from scratch. It's cheaper than buying ready meals etc. I bought a 3kg bag of pasta 10 months ago, it's still not through with yet. Tinned stuff lasts, as do eggs if in the fridge. I also use portable heaters and fans etc. My central heating stays off. It's cheaper to use a small space heater when I'm home than have the boiler on all the time. 👌 Hawks and Owls are a predator of scorpions, as are wasps. Spiders and Scorpions hate strong lavender/mint scent as well.

Hello! I would like to give my input. To me the function of a door is to close off one space from another. So the door closed would be the on function. Also if the door is locked it becomes extra on. On 2.0, if you will.

Um... the mirror would have been zero points from me. How can an alien show up in an interstellar spacecraft and somehow miss out on reflections in their technology tree?? We've had them (aside from puddles) for approx 8000 years?! 👽 Robot lawnmower would have been low points too.. why would that impress an alien Without googling.. ages ago.. on May Day.. in village festivals people would dance around the maypole. It was just a fun little village event.. and probably a celebration of spring and the coming summer months.. and a way for the young people to clap eyes on each other and go "PHWOAR SHE'S ALRIGHT" and form future unions. I guess it makes no sense down there as you'd be doing this in November or summut Diggin' Brigitte's fashion during the challenges. I agree Chris seems to be "playing the game" and just focusing his best on every challenge.. but I'm cheering for Sophie.. she's hilarious and unique in all the way she does The Things You live on the continent that hosts the biggest rainforest in the world.. so I'm not totally surprised if you find scorpions in the bath. I'm more surprised you don't have snakes coming out of your taps, tarantulas crawling across you in the night, fish trying to swim up your urine stream and jaguars messing with your bins 🤣 ..although I'd think there'd be not much wildlife up the Andes..
