🥇. OMG Mandy, you finally tanned 🤣. Isn't green screen marvelous. I've been waiting with much trepidation for this last episode. It really hit me the first time I watched it. 🥹 I didn't know you're ashematic. The amount of laughing you do made me think you've got the lungs of an opera singer. That city air won't be doing you much good tho. 😨 I'm buying you some soundproofing wall tiles for Christmas. I can hear at least 20 Mandys. Anxiety-wise. I'm similar to blackadder. I bottle it up and then when I do go, I shut down. Or I work silently. Men keep their bodies occupied to allow the mind to process. We don't like sitting still or talking.

Josh

Bye 🤷

Tony Mingoia

What's great is that we are still on course for Christmas Carol on boxing day, if Mandy wants to record it. I must've miscounted by one week, but Mandy missed one week, and they've cancelled each other out. It's perfect. 😊

Remi

The title scared me for a minute I thought you were leaving us🤣 congratulations on another completion

Josh

During the David Mitchell soapbox you did for youtube, did you not realise the mosquito was sat on your head most of the time? I will have to watch this later 🥺

Remi

7:50 you pair must have looked like the fucking chuckle brothers 🤣 that's such a Karl story, Mandy you don't like to admit it but you are literally Karl with a normal ed, That's a nice cut you got on your hand which of the following items caused it A, Kitana B, box cutter C, cardboard

yemmlie

Christmas Carol is great!

Phil C

Hi Mandy. Good to have you back with us! Hope you are settling nicely into your new home despite the mosquitoes & bugs. Very enjoyable watching this one with you as always. This was the last and arguably the best episode of the whole 4 series. Lots of references to the futility of war and in that respect I think the ending was appropriate, although strangely depressing for a comedy series. The special “BlackAdder’s Christmas Carol” is definitely worth watching. I won’t give away any details in case it spoils your enjoyment, but I hope you will be reacting to this one soon.

Remi

Thanks for explaining to us how you handle being anxious but I don't know if you noticed but you spent half the video fighting bugs (no we couldn't see them) you looked crazy 🤣

irreverend

I'm so glad we all managed to avoid spoiling the ending for you, I've been worried for months someone would let it slip.

James

Cats are all confident until you change their routine. We had to take our cat to the vet last week and he freaked out as soon as he saw the carrier, trying to hide and yowling. Larry knew the next few hours was going to be chaotic

Danny

I did mention on the last episode. But I'll say again. For the specials order, - do the Blackadder Christmas Carol (thatd come in time for Christmas then too), then do Cavalier Years (which is only about 15 minutes), then do the pilot episode, then finish it with Blackadder Back and Forth. Then its upto you want to do the first series. Or you could always do series 1, then Back and Forth, as that is the official Blackadder ending. Check your messages as sent you some Blackadder stuff n that

irreverend

I think you need an electric fly swatter for Christmas

Carl-Fredrik L

You can hear from the echo that you havent really put in much furniture yet! 😆 How are you finding your new place? Is it comfy 🙂

Danny

The byeeeee is how Queenie pronounced it in her letter to Blackadder when he was kidnapped in the last episode of series 2

Carl-Fredrik L

I think Black Adder Christmas Carol was pretty good

Zaunkönig

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but Baldrick's final "cunning plan" would have been for Blackadder injure himself on the splinter to prevent him from going over the top

irreverend

And that's why there can never be another series of Blackadder, because that's where his line ends. One of the most memorable moments in British TV

irreverend

I'm very glad that was your takeaway at the end there, about division etc. I'm sure that was the intention of the ending, as a reminder to everyone. The world clearly needs more people who think like you and us.

Jeffrey44

Who told you that?

AWR93

I’m sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. Who’d notice another mad man around here? 🤣

Ash Jeffries

Great reaction, Mandy! As hilarious and lighthearted as this show is, the First World War, ironically named The Great War, was really and truly, the Fools' War. BLACKADDER: I mean, who would've noticed another madman around here?! This ending is stylistically unexpected, but thematically on point, truthful, and respectful. It was originally not slow mo at the end. The director was unhappy with the way the real time scene played out in terms of physical effects and it was only when it was slowed down and someone thought of adding a melancholic piano of the Blackadder theme (composer of that and many other UK TV themes, the genius Howard Goodall) that it worked so well. It was always going to end with due sobriety and reverence, but the way it actually transpired was so much more. 😭 And rightly so. Blackadder's Christmas Carol is wonderful, timely, and will cheer you up, promise! 😃🙏

BobSandwiches

Can't see that ending appearing in a US sitcom 😉. The genius of the ending is that even constantly upbeat Mandy is put into a reflective mood for several minutes afterwards... Hope you get that mozzy - don't try to reason with it like with the spider in the last video: squash the little bugger with extreme prejudice - it chose to go over the top and attack you, it deserves to face the consequences. Good luck everyone.

Yoshua Simoleit

I love learning about history, and whenever I learn more about the horrible grim realities of modern industrial warfare, I always think, so the poor old ostrich died for nothing.

Jeffrey44

When this episode first aired, it had been 71 years since the end of The Great War. There were people watching this episode that had lived through it and families of those that didn't do they couldn't invent an unrealistic happy ending or have a comedic death sequence. I think when George (Hugh Laurie) says "I'm scared" is when the episode really changes direction.

FF1M

They saved the best episode of the show till last (ignoring the Millenium thing). Not only a great comedy episode but also teaching so much about the war, so much so that its even shown in schools here sometimes. And man that ending... and is it just me but the echoeyness of Mandy's furnitureless room really added to the feels of the end.

DriveIn

The way Mandy perfectly imitated "wibble" on the first attempt! You can't teach that 😁

Stevus

Lovely to have you back and great that you're settling in, even if Kitana isn't. But she'll get there. Regarding that final bit of the final episode, I've always thought that the cunning plan that Baldrick devised at the end must have had something to do with the nasty looking splinter he saw on the ladder they were about to climb, and I suspect it may have been the first ACTUALLY good cunning plan a Baldrics ever had! Shame Blackadder wasn't more interested in hearing it this time. If that is true, then it makes the whole thing just that little bit more tragic. Looking forward to Bladders Chrissy Carol. I think you'll really enjoy that. Maybe keep some earplugs on hand though, there is some very high pitched squealing involved. Also, still really looking forward to your reaction to Bernard and the Genie! Perfect for Christmas. In fact it's one of the few Christmassy things I have enjoyed over the years, not being a Christmassy person and all. Overall, very happy for you, all things considered. Good for you! 🤗🫶✨️

Podey Williams

Very strong memories of watching this episode when it aired in 1989 and then going into Primary School the next day and talking about how sad it was with my teacher. I was still very young and my teacher was like “you always knew they were going to die, is the thing”…… I did not!

Josh

"I wouldn't want to face a machine-gun without this" A brilliant episode and one of the classic moments in British comedy. I think we even had to watch this at school as part of history class. I completely agree with your closing statements Mandy ❤️

David Butler

What a splendid person you are, and what a wonderful reaction to this episode. It starts as a comedy, and ends as a heartbreaking tribute to the real soldiers who went through this, yet one can't really see the joins. And you clearly felt a bit of that. Thank you for getting it.

Mandy Cane Lane

Hello David. Thank you very much! This ending was indeed heartbreaking, and very well done. Also just in case I haven't already... Welcome to my channel! 🌈🏵🤗✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

How interesting! I remember watching "Pink Floyd's The Wall" in philosophy class because our teacher was a lazy psychology teacher. Not comparable at all btw, but you just reminded me. -- This episode was heartbreaking and Hugh Laurie's "I'm scared" was so powerful in the mood shift.

Mandy Cane Lane

It makes sense. They died in the previous seasons. But I was not expecting it either. I wasn't expecting such meaningful impact from such a silly comedy.

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you so much Stevus! 💜 And the splinter plan makes a lot of sense coming from Baldrick! 🤭

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, I have this thing where I like to repeat sounds, but I never know if I pull them off or not 🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh finally, the acoustics added something positive! 🤭 This was very impactful and very surprising. Hugh Laurie's "I'm scared" was an amazing shift into the end.

Mandy Cane Lane

100%. That "I'm scared" was devastating to hear from such an optimistic character. Really shifted the whole scene.

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, I love that! One of those things that just sticks with ya, huh? 🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

This episode was so well executed! (Pun most definitely intended) but all jokes aside they did a masterful job at portraying the emotions of such a scene. Heartbreaking to watch.

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh, sometimes a simple tweak in editing or music choice can really make a huge impact. This episode was masterfully done and although I was surprised I really liked it

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahaha Manuel dancing! 🤣🤣 Brilliant line that one.

Mandy Cane Lane

Hi Zaunkönig! 🌈🤗✨️ That makes perfect sense knowing Baldrick! 🤭

Mandy Cane Lane

I do not own much! Haha. I need a couch to really absorb some of the sound, but that is going to take me a while! I am loving my new place. There is a LOT to do, but Kitana and I are very lucky, thank you for asking 🤗💜

Mandy Cane Lane

Larry 🤭, love it! 100%. They get so STRESSED over everything, but once they are comfortable they treat everyone like a peasant 🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

I was so surprised by the ending! It is very cool that I had no idea. -- An electric fly swatter is now on my list! Haha -- And this episode was amazingly done. I enjoyed it very much

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahahhaha! Well get ready for more Mandy Vs The Bugs in my next videos 😅🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Hi Phil! Thank you very much.🤗🤗 I am loving my new home. And this episode was brilliantly done. I was definitely surprised but I really liked it.

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahaha, my family and I do have our "Three Stooges" moments from time to time 🤣. And hand is actually still my eczema. Hopefully now that I moved it will begin to clear up 🤞🏻

Mandy Cane Lane

OMG, funny you say that because I was constantly checking all paranoid through out a lot of videos 🤣🤣🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

I thought a lot about this! Haha, it worked out great! 🤗

Josh

Oh poo it's a Blackadder vid 😳😳 thought you were leaving 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

This episode was brilliant. Did NOT expect that ending, but I loved it! And a good couch will absorb a lot of the echo. I am working on getting furniture. 🤪 Also anxiety and excitement, I can not stay still for a second 😅🤣

Robert 'Neutron' Sound

Ed Gamble said something on the Taskmaster podcast about great British comedy moments. Something like: It's Blackadder going forth over the top, it's Del-Boy falling through the bar (on Only Fools and Horses), and it's Mike Wozniak's fart.

2026-09-23 20:00 A very poignant ending to what was a very funny show. A sad end for them all that so many have gone through for real. Great reaction Mandy, you handled it and talked about it so well. Proud of you. Enjoy the specials now.

Podey Williams

I hadn't seen the previous seasons, then, I think I was about 5 years old 😅

AWR93

Mandy you played fifa? And you remembered the offside rule (I’m impressed clap) I would have loved to have seen that! 🤣

David Williams

They had to do it, always chokes me up.

Z is for Zed

Not wanting to be overly conspiratorial, but everything is about division now because "the haves" got noticed by the "have nots". There are more poor people than rich people and keeping them focused on each other stops the masses from turning on the higher ups. A lot of the artificially divided countries haven't had a revolt in a long time and fighting amongst themselves keeps it that way...

BobSandwiches

Good-bye-ee! was the name of a famous WW1 song - it relates to the crowds of people waving the soldiers off as they marched down the street on their way to the war. The bit most remembered now is the chorus that starts: "Good-bye-ee! good-bye-ee! Wipe the tear, baby dear, from your eye-ee". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeVkRFHBis0

BobSandwiches

Even if you had seen the previous endings, they would not have prepared a 5 year-old for that ending! Didn't me, and I must have been a teenager. Your teacher sounds like someone who was in the wrong job...

Danny

Yeah I know the song, Queenie pronounces it the same way

Mandy Cane Lane

Aye, that is fine, but division now is everywhere! Men vs women, young vs old, politics, cultures, religions, class, race, dog people vs cat people, metal heads vs different metal heads, rock vs pop, vegans vs meat eaters, sports teams, and the list never ends.... we are all made of the same stuff and have the same basic needs, why can't we all just get along and agree to disagree on most topics?

Mandy Cane Lane

I am honored to know what all of those moment are 🙌🏻🤭

Josh

Better fucking not

AWR93

Haha fair enough! I know you used to be into ufc, you must of played those games surely?

Stevus

And a jolly merry chrissy to you too! 🤗 Hope you enjoy whichever version of A Christmas Carol/Scrooge you choose to watch and have the best day you can. It will get up to 38C here today, so personally I'll be doing nothing! Thanks for the Christmas cheer, that's very nice. ☺️ 👍💙

kristian turner

very late to the conversation but it's a common theme with British comedies one minute laughter the next a hard dose of reality and tears
