Bit late with this one but long rant inbound. Here we go. So , I totally relate when it comes to not really fitting in culturally. As a British born person who grew up and spent most of his childhood being raised in Australia by parents who were desperately holding on to their precious British customs and attitudes, life was pretty weird and confusing most of the time. As a result, I've never really felt that connected with anywhere in particular and really just consider myself a citizen of the world. Interestingly, as I've gotten older, I find that maybe it's actually something of a boon(it has definately also had some downsides). It has resulted in me seeing all people as just fellow human beings with no judgement or prejudice, as I never developed any kind of nationalistic identity. This ideology is strongly contrasted by the extreme British nationalist identity of my father, who is a racist and bigot and just all round ignoramus. I would frequently hear him refer to the 'bloody pakis (Pakistanis)' for example, taking the view that they have taken over and destroyed Britain and its culture. Interestingly, it was this view that in large part led to my family emigrating to Australia, a country where the British had landed, 'stuck their flag in the ground', as Miss Izzard might say, and then over the next hundred years proceeded in wiping out most of the population and indoctrinating the rest into Christianity, destroying THEIR culture and nearly 300 different languages. And then I would hear him complaining about the 'bloody abos' (aborigines) causing trouble and ruining things. The irony and hypocrisy is nothing short of astounding. But this really sums up alot of toxic nationalism all over the world. For me personally, when it comes to traditions and culture etc etc, I generally just don't give a fridge, no culture alive today represents what it might have been 1000 or 100 or maybe even 10 years ago, so just move on. But there are countries, ie Britain (but not exclusively of course), that have commited awful atrocities in the past. But that doesn't mean we should blame people today for those things. It's an ever changing world and most likely always will be. I can't wait till all the people of the world are one colour and one people. Not that I'm likely to ever see that but it's slowly getting closer. Peace✌️

Could not agree more. 🫶🏻 Makes no sense to hate people because of where they were born or what culture their parents have. People are people. Good people come in all shapes, colors and sizes and so do bad people. Judge people on their personal actions, nothing else 🤷🏻‍♀️

BTW, people have recommended Top Gear in Argentina, and it's to do with The Fawklands why Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, along with the Camera Crew was Chased out of Argentina. When I was in Baltimore, I was asked what part of Australia I was from, so I explained I'm from England and then they responded with is that near London, this other girl said to her mate no, England is the capital of France. Anyway... I've completely gone of Subject. I love James loooool
