Joe is fun, but maybe not the best at stand-up. He has one about a rental car that is also quite good. I like those endings, like you have a producer that presses a button :)

Hi Miss Mandy👋, give yourself a round of applause!... done? Cool. Now give yourself a nice pat on the back. 🤭hehe. Joe is a bit of a unique character I think. I really enjoy his style. My favourite material of his is the correspondence bits like the email thing at the end of this. I think he genuinely does this stuff. He has a few spots on cats does countdown in dictionary corner doing others that are great. The odd thing about him over the past few years is that he's gone conservative (politically), which makes him one of those rare pansexual conservatives. I don't really care too much about people's political views unless really extreme, and if a comedian is funny, then that's all that really matters, unless they make the politics the focus of their material. In that case I'll just lose interest, and that seems to be what Joe has been doing more recently. Hope I'm wrong or it was just a phase or joke or something, but oh well🤷‍♂️ This one was great though, thanks for sharing. 🤗

Hahaha. I am a big fan of random comedy! But I press my own buttons 😔

Mandy Cane Lane

So glad you enjoyed! And I am with you Steven, I believe he actually send those emails! 😅😅 And I know what you mean, but I haven't seen anything recent, so have no idea. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha! It was good, but I got sick again yesterday and my stupid cough is back! 😭 I need a better immune system 😕

Woody Barrelson

Link doesn't work but thanks anyway Mark, I'm happy to take your word for it. Good news. Also, any relation? to either of them. 🤔

MCT

I'm afraid not. :) But yeah he was winding people up on a BBC political show he was a guest on, which made a few tories upset at the time.

2026-09-23 20:00 Hey Mandy, I haven’t watched much of Joe’s standup, don’t remember him in a sling - can’t have seen it! Here’s the obligatory, feel free to skip 😁 3:20 Sally: “I’ve brought in a papier mache cat” Did you tune in to his dialled up Birmingham accent there? 5:35 A petit filous is just a brand of yoghurt for children 5:38 Amanda Holden - one of the current Britain’s Got Talent judges 7:35 Mandy: “Can’t legally say the name of a little artisan shop, but he can drop chain names, how does that work? What the hell are the laws…” Maybe it’s just because Starbucks couldn’t give a monkeys what Joe Lycett says about them, but with his Birmingham sway, he could sink the artisan coffee shop business when he said he’s boycotting them, then they might come after him! He can say what he likes at the end of the day. He has a show called “Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back” where he explains and resolves consumer issues viewers have raised. I imagine he’s had to deal with a few disgruntled companies, so has had plenty of legal advice about where to draw the line, and the cost-benefit tradeoffs of stepping over it 🤷‍♂️ 😆 I’ve only broken bones on one occasion in my life too! Hmm, knowing you, I’d skip to the TLDR if you’d rather not know the grizzly details… I was playing basketball in middle school, maybe 13-14 years old, and I was fighting for control of the ball, it was practically mine, as I had both arms firmly wrapped around it, and was trying to shake his hands off, when he caught his arm between the ball and my own arms bear hugging it, and with one final shake, his wedged lower arm got levered against the ball which broke both bones in his lower arm. I’ll never forget the image, it created an extra joint 🥴 I had no repercussions, because well, it was just an unfortunate circumstance, it wasn’t a foul play in particular. TLDR: I broke someone else's arm playing basketball. I was mortified, was speechless for several minutes, well into the rest of the day, and earned the nickname arm-breaker Morgan off the gym teacher for the next few years. Let me give myself a round of applause for that 👏 👏 👏 I was only a child, after all. Ok, I’ll try skydiving once, to see if it’s for me 😁 Have a great rest of your day G 👏 👏 👏

OMG!! It must feel so awful to break someone's arm. I couldn't imagine.😖 Also I have no ability whatsoever to distinguish what accent is from where 😅😅😅

Random question of the day: if you were to go to a zoo which animal would you be looking forward to seeing the most?

Mandy Cane Lane

Ok, so I really love tigers, but at a zoo they are quite boring (sleeping all day). The last time I went to the zoo, a billion years ago, the animal I enjoyed the most were the giraffes! They are SO PRETTY!

Josh

Lazy bastards 🤣
