Why must all good things come to an end? Why can things not last forever? Like if I eat a whole chocolate cake, why is it gone? Life is indeed mysterious!

Extras is terrific, but comes to an end to make room for inbetweeners ;)

Danny

Ricky also achieved his dream of acting with De Niro in a film around this time. In the movie Stardust, which is a really good fantasy film

Danny

Just a reminder, the special is feature length. So hour and half long. Its essentially a movie

Danny

As a side note, the naked pen thing originated from a random conversation on XFM that spun into a whole nother ridiculous thing with Karl. I'll not give details and spoil it in hopes you listen to the XFM shows

Tony Mingoia

By the way Mandy, even though the special is often referred to as the "Christmas special", it's really not very Christmassy. Just happens to be set around Christmas time. It's about as Christmassy as Die Hard basically. So don't worry about saving it for Christmas or anything. I'm fact, on IMDB (so I assume officially), it's called "The extra special series finale". And indeed, it is a fitting and satisfying finale to the show. I can't wait for you to see it. But don't forget the bloopers from this season! This episode in particular has some very funny ones. 😊🤗

Lee Dellbridge

There are two versions of the special. Not much difference but at few US tv references instead of UK ones.

Jeffrey44

It depends if you know who Jade Goody (UK) or Krammer (USA) are. If you know neither of these long forgotten people then it doesn't really matter.

Lee Dellbridge

There is another one with Katie Couric and Kate Adey I think. Hopefully she has the UK one.

Lee Dellbridge

Robert Lindsay was in classic BBC sitcoms Citizen Smith and My Family.

steven

I remember the kid in a coma it was in 2005 around September I think 😉

Jeffrey44

What's happened to Extras?

2026-09-23 20:00 Great! Can't wait to watch this later today. Something to look fwd to.

I could say no to medical trials. I could say no to making resin artisan jewellery for someone else to sell. I could even say no to being Scarlett Johansson and having a guy cup my boobs, but if a Mother asked me to speak at her son's funeral for some reason, could I say no to her? It's certainly the most difficult of the discussed scenarios. The truth is, I'd probably say yes to make her happy and then not turn up. Everyone wins that way.

Jeffrey44

ADHD? I didn't think that would be a thing in Argentina, or did you bring yours with you from the United States of America?

Ant G

I remember when I first watched this and I thought they had set it up perfectly for the end scene to be Andy and Maggie walking in on Di Niro going for it with the pen…opportunity missed in my opinion 🤣

Industrialist2015ofUk

a Triumph! well done. but you notice the most odd things in people and dresswear haha. but Green day i would not come out of a coma for!! Offspring maybe... and i would say check out The Office, but i prefer the US version, and i luv Superstore😊

Danny

I hope you check out the UK Office more great cringe comedy from Ricky . Its only short like this series, so easy to get through

AWR93

Mandy 1993 gang 🤟

Josh B

The whole joke is that he isn’t famous and is a Z list celebrity who thinks he’s an A lister, My Family was probably the worst and most unpopular show on tv at the time

DriveIn

Your reaction to the Andy/Darren/pen scene absolutely killed me 😄 made my day

2026-09-23 20:00 I kind of like that British series often end before they get bad. Although, 12 episodes is on the short side.

"Bring Tea for the Tillerman, steak for the son. Wine for the woman who made the rain come". Yes another brilliant episode, awesome reaction, rants and stories from our inimitable host, Mandy. Plus the cutest laugh ever at 37:55. That scene with Steve doing his thing with the pen was the scene I was waiting for you to see. The one I wasn't sure if I'd missed already. Haha classic moment. Those pens have been around for decades. Usually found at seaside shops that sell junk to tourists. Was great that you remembered the Patrick Stewart line there :) Yeah Robert Lindsay was in old comedy series like Citizen Smith and Get Some In in the 1970's. Man, did they make him an a/hole in this one. :) Your Robert De Niro face was not bad at all. Roberta :) Well the Special next. I hope you can DailyMotion the UK version of The Office. Probably zero chance on Youtube. If not, there are other ways to do it so we can join you watching it but without copyright issues. Looking mucho forward to the Special.

Mandy Cane Lane

Never heard of it. I was actually surprised they didn't film a scene together. (Ricky and De Niro) 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh cool! Thank you Tony! 🙌🏻🤗 I don't save things for Christmas though because by the time that rolls around I will have forgotten about all of it! So will watch next week! 😃 (Perhaps in parts)

Mandy Cane Lane

I know none of the people mentioned! Haha. And I have no idea which version I have but I imagine it is the UK one. 🤗🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Lmao! That did seem like a very possible ending! 😅😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you! And I like paying attention to details. Well, actually I can't help it. 😅 Band that would wake me up would probably be Pink Floyd or Linkin Park 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

I will hold up a poll when it is time for a new show! Despite what wins, will watch The Office soon though! 🙌🏻🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

I have been told the special closes it quite nicely. Can't wait to watch it!

Mandy Cane Lane

Youtube is getting harder and harder to upload certain things. Full episodes of anything is nearly impossible except with An Idiot Abroad and The Ricky Gervais show which is wonderful. I would love to be able to upload more things there but I have been getting notifications lately that they have blocked videos I have had up for weeks. 🙄 Will find a way to get it done though! 🙌🏻🤗

AWR93

December for me! How about yourself? 😊

Jeffrey44

It's just an expression or saying. A meme even. I saw other people saying it on other videos so I thought I'd say it too.

Ash Jeffries

You wee young ones! I'm 40 in October! 🙈🙃

Ash Jeffries

Superb reaction as always, lovely Mandy! You pick up on so many details missed by other reactors and I love how you embrace the lack of familiarity with some UK celebs by doing a quick Google and understanding essentially their status at least. You don't just remain completely nonplussed! Love that! 🙏 I really feel for the mum in this episode but I'm on Andy's side when it comes to feeling put upon. There's such entitlement from some people around famous people, and the public can take advantage of a celeb's public profile and reputation to get what they want and put them on the spot! She was so pushy and demanding! She didn't ask but rather stated what Andy must feel obliged to do! Terrible! Great episode but the special is an outstanding way to finish. About 80 minutes or so but it absolutely flies by! You will think of it as maybe a 45 minute extended episode afterwards! 🙏

David Baker

Great video reaction again Mandy, can't wait for the next one to finally finish. There will be loads of celebs in the special plus a familiar face you might recognise ;) Keep on Conquering the World and bringing the world your Fabulous Content!

Woody Barrelson

My Family was great! Mainly because of the older son though. They should have done a spin off for his character. After he left it was pretty meh.

Woody Barrelson

I can conquer the world?! DAMN! why did no one tell me that before! Thanks for the tip, greatly appreciated 🙏. And Maggie definately does only wear pink and green. I think it's perfect for her though. Well now that's all done, time for bloopers on YouTube! Woohoo! Catch ya on da flip side homie, I'm off to do some world conquering. But where to start?🤔.

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you so much Ash!! 🤗 Yeah, it is often said by celebrities that fans act like they owe them something, as if there craft isn't enough! -- And I am really excited to watch the special! 🤗🙌🏻

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, thank you David! I haven't even stopped to think that there would be multiple celebrities! 😅😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Why does your world conquering have to be weird? 😅😅

Woody Barrelson

What's wrong with weird? One persons' weird is another persons' interesting. Now back to the conquering!

Gary

Mandy Cane Lane

I have never lost my wallet so can't tell you! 🤪 I have no idea what you are talking about at 29:45 and I am at work so can't check it out 😅

BobSandwiches

It's a while ago now, but I've only just watched this. Steven was in the same room as De Nero - and Ricky was directing. Coincidentally, Ricky tells about the meeting in an interview on the Jonathan Ross show 😎(https://youtu.be/gYBWGbY-n80?t=597 - about the 10 minute mark).

yemmlie

Haha I have ADHD myself and totally got vibes of it from you through episodes like you'd suddenly focus on some background character or piece of the set in a scene and other little things that I recognise in myself. Funny to find out I was right hehe. Loving your reactions!

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha! Welcome Lemmy!! 🌈🤗🌻 To my patreon and the ADHD club! 🤣🤣
