Ida L

dont feel guilty about not liking this intro. its my least favorite intro of all of them

alannah

Personally, this intro music is my favourite out of all of them (I'm a sucker for a dramatic ballad). Regarding the change in animation, I believe there was a shift in budget to allow for improved animation. The animation studio is different in S4, but S1-3 use the same studio.

Butthats

Lol nooo. Not the Funko Pop box being a spoiler! That's Isayama's level of twist right there hahahaha.

Sofomo

Here's a fun vid for the guys to check out - its an animation process video for Levi running from Kenny (from initial blocking, to clean inbetweens/breakdowns in the 3D wireframe environment, and then final). Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwGBeG3LinM

wanira 11

the Kenny Levi action sequence in ODM gear is one of the coolest, best animated scenes I've ever seen. I still regularly go back to watch this scene on youtube just because it is that epic

CT

Levi and Mikasa having the same last name was something I didn’t expect but I wasn’t surprised about! Their badassery transcends through anime bounds!

Ida L

Not a spoiler, just a big reveal you all missed(it seemed like?) They said the Reiss family is the true royal family!

Sofomo

For the Ackermann surname, don't worry about where you are with your knowledge of that. More information will be coming about it :) just keep in mind to pay close attention when 'Ackermann' is brought up at any point.

ATP

IMO, it wasn't my favorite intro when I first watched the season. However, the full song is a banger. Only way I can listen to it now. The lyrics also helped me.

Dy'Nasha

I should have taken notes with yall since i watched alongside yall for the first time cause i have so many questions and I am a firm supporter of the season one intro so far! My only thought is about Eren because of his titan form and how weak its been after his fight with Reiner like did it really mess him out? He also seems very subdued but then again its only been two episodes and hes been tossed around like gum in a middle school classroom with little to no speaking parts

atoure32

Levi is such a boss

DeeMKR

Great reaction guys. Just noticed you guys may have missed the part where they say the Reiss family is the actually royal family, not just some rich family wanting their daughter back. I am never sure if you guys actually see the comments at all😅. That aside, looking forward to watching this with you all again.

Hafsah Ahmed

This intro is my favourite intro, the emotion behind it really pack's a punch once you finish the show, do try to listen to the intros and give them a chance!!!

Daanaa

The intro for this season does bring a lot of emotion after finishing the series. Just listening to it now makes my eyes water. Most fans look back on this song and probably feel the same way. Something I may add is that the Ackerman name will be talked about in later seasons/episodes so don't think too hard for now, you will understand until then. As always great reaction! Looking forward to more

Hafsah Ahmed

Also guys, think you missed the big reveal that the reiss family is the true royal family and historia is heir to the throne, important to note! was revealed at the end of the episode

juzism

not a spoiler, just a big reveal you all missed (it seemed like yous did?) they said the Reiss family is the true royal family which is Historia and love some of your predictions

Peeker

i know its too early for this but this season has 2 intros and the 2nd intro has a lot and a lot of spoilers so would consider to skip that one?

Pathetic_Effort
>>139137998

Nooo, that's a part of the fun :) They are only spoilers to us, as we are aware of the context surrounding it

congeries

Fun fact: Armine killed a human but he never killed a titan to this point

Peeker
>>139137998

@Pathetic_Effort yeah but once they know the context of season 3, they're gonna predict everything that happens in the intro. its too risky

beannieswife

we finally reached the morally complex side of the story, and thanks for the armin appreciation once again!! his "development" (i feel bad calling that an upgrade on him lol) has been so good in the last few episodes. and yes, this episode reveals levi's last name for the first time! him and mikasa have the same last name and no one should give you any explanation further than that, you'll see what's behind that in the future. there's so many big reveals in these 2 episodes alone, from now on the series will go heavy on dialogue, try to catch everything you can cause if you miss something you might get lost at some point in the future. loved the commentary! you guys truly feel invested, diamond dave lost his mind today lmao and i love the oak's commentary so much!! so excited for the rest of the season i know it's a little early to say this but, in episode 49, i would like you guys to watch the outro and post credits scene👀 there might be some ppl against it tho, when that ep came out we all watched it so it would be a little unfair to exclude you from that experience, for the sake of chaos i want ya'll to do it haha

Elijah Ramirez

Season 3 boys. Put on your seatbelts and try to stay seated.

Smuckfuzzer

You guys need to rewatch the last part of that episode cause you all looked away during a big reveal.

Magda Ch

👀 Guys, did you miss the big reveal at the end? 😅 ➡️ Not only Reiss is Historia's dad, Reiss is the true royal family and Historia is the true royal successor 👀👀👀 that means the King with the gray beard on the big chair is fake

Manny D.
>>139137998

I highly doubt that. Also, at this point they haven't skipped an opening. It's not likely to happen

hex1c

Don't be afraid to read this. It has no spoilers. But season 4 which is the final season has a huge change in animation due to studio change. Due to the escalating scale of the title. Apparently, several other studios refused to take over the production of the final season of the series, as many thought that it would be impossible to fill Wit Studio's shoes. MAPPA is the studio who animated the final season and a lot of us actually think it's closer to the manga style.

Marco Gutierrez

I won't get into the whole Reiss familiy history since others have already clarified that for you. As for the opening, yeah I'm not the biggest fan of this one. That being said, to me *all* openings take second fiddle to the second opening for Season 4. You'll know it when you hear it, as I suspect it'll be ya'lls favorite too. Something else you might want to pay extra attention to is what the prisoner said the MP was in charge of. All of the people they killed. A teacher who knew too much, a couple that wanted to fly, a woman who bedded the wrong man, and even in these episode we see them taking out a merchant and a priest too. There's a pretty big range of causes between these things, and it's interesting that the Military Police is in charge of taking these people out. Some food for thought, just in case it passed you by too quickly to think about.

Marco Gutierrez
>>139137998

It's not that big of a deal for them to predict things. They would be in the exact same position that any other viewer is. It's not like they're seeing a season 4 opening while watching season 1. They made that opening with the understanding that you'd be watching those episodes. It's silly to say "you can't watch the opening for the very episode that you're watching.

Pathetic_Effort

Fun fact! (This isnt a spolier) "A stupid couple who tried to fly", is referring to Armins parents. They tried to fly away in a hot air balloon to see what was outside. I think Armin mentioned it in S1.

Marcos Olguin

Episode 49 has an end credit scene so don’t forget to watch till the to be continued screen.

konfetti

I just want to let you guys know to please keep watching the ending song in its entirety for every episode for this season! It's gonna pay off at the end.

Ushna Seeam

Ah, Oak, I guarantee you, this story is not like any other story you've seen. 😆 Also, that Levi/Kenny squad chase sequence at the beginning of this episode is one of my favourite scenes from the entire show. 👌🏼

Elmo Pelmo

i repeat what the other have said (to increase the chance that u see it), u have to rewatch the last 3 minutes because u missed the biggest reveal. Or u've read what the other comments said :D

Natasha Crandall

They cut so much of the torture scene out from the manga. Also, I think Lost girl's, lost in the cruel world is better after the entire series is over. Personally, I thought it spoiled the end of the series when I first watched it.

Julio Salazar

So YES Kenny is based off of Clint Eastwood and this intro is def very introspective and I think you'll understand why later in the season.

Alexiani Gollarza

Mason knew because of the Levi Funkopop xD amazing!! ahahahahah anyways, yes Mason, you hit the nail, if we only notice the action we could miss a lot and I mean, A LOT of the things happening here. Also, you can look at the intro like the characters being kids, and then losing their innocence for whatever reason. Also, like Diamond said, yes, we'll see more of Levi and the rest of the crew

Rena Unnie

I can't believe you got spoiled by a funko pop lmaooo !

SamurEye

they looked away at the horrible moment is missed a big line hahahahahahaha

Peeker
>>139137998

@Marco Gutierrez just cause it was made for the episodes doesn't make it any less spoilery

Feli Moon

When you showed us the Funko Pop figure the first time I thought... omg... There's his whole name on it... 🙈 This episode is one of my favorites. The fighting scenes are incredible and I love that tiny moment in the bar... LEVI AT HIS BEST!

J Knight

The show is still good spoiled, don't worry 🤣

BRIAN RAYMOND

I think it's good to know that at this point in time, most of the gang we know are all pretty much under 18, more precisely 15-16 years old, and are literally just kids. As I'm sure ya'll know now, they have no experience killing humans, hence the hesitation from Jean and despair from Armin

Fatipapi

yall looked away at the big reveal at the end of the episode 😂

Isabel Schertel

S1: humans vs titans S2: titans vs titans S3: humans vs humans

Isabel Schertel

I'm honestly surprised you don't love this intro, I thought you'd love the more emotional note haha. But it's also one of my least favs 🤭 although the animation for this is sooo gorgeous

Elizabeth Green

Yall missed the biggest reveal for the episode! 😭 how yall gonna do us like that lol. Also, I don’t care for the intro music either. It’s too slow and somber for my taste lol.

Minerva Ravenclaw

For the people saying they missed a big reveal, it's alright everything will be explained in further episodes they'll catch up

Marbelis

Did you guys miss the reveal before the cut scene at the end? Thats what it feels like

Nate

After attack on titan’s over you should check out DEATHNOTE or DEMON SLAYER next 🙏🏼

Tiffany

Aww man, this season is just banger after banger after banger🔥. We were not joking around when we said this show just gets better and better with the stakes rising higher and higher. Also forewarning guys, theres something you guys will be interested in seeing during the end credits of episode 12, so be sure to stay tuned, and also there’s gonna be a few double/triple feature episodes this season. A better way to explain would be season 3 is cut into 2 parts. You guys will understand as you watch, both parts are freaking wild and your heads will possibly explode 🤘🏻

Minerva Ravenclaw
>>139170449

They'll be confused nonetheless, but I do agree that they need to start paying more attention to details because this season is packed with Information

Arudorin

it's a shame you missed the big reveal. Also, The Rock's movie debut was in the mummy returns where he played the scorpion king. Then he starred in his own big solo movie, The Scorpion King.

Faiza
>>139181146

I would delete this as it isn't a spoiler but does mess up the mystery/puzzle of why they all have the same last name... best to keep the comments at the same place the episode is, which right now regarding Ackerman is completely ambiguous

🍀

TRIVIA: levi and kenny scene took a month to animate.🤘🏼🔥🔥

🍀
>>139181146

Wait i’m confuse why it’s a spoiler, given that they have the same last names?

🍀

S4 opening and closing songs are my favorite 🤘🏼🔥 those are heavy on drums 🔥🔥 makes you more pump to start each ep

Madam.Daydreamer

NOT A SPOILER Something someone already pointed out but ill break it down a little The reason there has been no war according to the guy they were torturing is because the First Interior Squad dirtied their hands (aka killed these people) 1. A teacher too smart for their own good 2. A couple who tried to fly 3. A woman from a ranch that bedded the wrong man so to say It can be implied that they were instructed to kill these people by the government for some reason. Also keep in mind he said the Reiss family is the true royal family and as far as we know there is currently only the King, King Fritz who hasn't even spoken yet. DOUBLE ALSO try to remember Jeans feelings in this episode

Betty H

Not the worst thing to be spoiled about, so don't worry too much. But please please don't google anything else, lol.

starstrucker

You guys are really cooking up a whole barbecue here! Good thoughts and great character analysis! I think Quinn has a great understanding of Armin!Just a reminder that Historia is the ILLEGITIMATE child of Reiss, so the amount of money he is throwing into this is kind of sus eh :)

B23

not you guys missing a big reveal 😭

hex1c
>>139144562

Because they mentioned they felt like the animation had changed a bit. I just wanted to give them a heads up about S4.

Stef

Fun fact, Hange's and Kenny's voice actors are married

jahara daughtry
>>139141260

Thank you for clarifying because I was so confused when ppl were saying they missed the big reveal. Now that I know what it is…. I don’t think it’s a big deal they missed it. Since it still gets explained fully in another episode.

BennLimos
>>139133196

Eren and the Scouts were experimenting and that deformed titan of his was basically the result of him having to transform multiple times, probably more than 3 times, in one day. And so since he's exhausted physically, his titan also couldn't manifest properly.

Dy'Nasha
>>139133196

Ooooh that makes sense, so the extertion resulted in the depleted type form. Thank you!

Mhyyy
>>139141260

i agree it's not a big deal though if they missed . It will be reveal eventually

Zack Sutton

Love this opening!! The full song has a sick Guitar solo right in the middle of the song but like most openings the orginal song gets cut down and shortened

Kelley&Ivy

When you guys finish this you should check out Demon slayer or even My Hero academy both which are one of my favorite animes up to you guys tho! Love the content 🫶🏽

Jake G.

Oak touched on this well. The opening for this season is very different intentionally. The first 3 are akin to military anthems and/or propaganda for the military. But with the content of this season, that doesn't make as much sense, hence why this opening song is soo different.

eren llega

we're getting closer to the top most ranked episodes in anime 53 54 55, those 3 ep are pure cinema

KnightOfCarim

You guys missed some bits and some huge information on this one so here we go: first the bits: When Sannes said he killed a teacher it showed Erwin's dad and it seemed you guys didn't recognized him from S1 even tho Erwin's dad showed up briefly in S1 flashbacks. The next scene it shows a couple flying in a hot air balloon and getting killed, that's Armin's mother and dad trying to explore outside the walls, that was hinted in S1 episode 5 when Armin said his parents were trying to leave the walls soon while showing Eren the book about the outside world. now the major thing: When Sannes was about to reveal the information and he just said one line and there was a cut, it seems you guys missed the line that was said, he said Reiss is the true royal family and that's the bomb, it was a non-chalant delivery just like S2 episode 6 colossal and amored indentity reveal. Next it shows the paper with the true king's Reiss face which turns out to be Historia's dad.

ScivarWarlock

I'd recommend familiarizing yourselves with the end credits for this season. It's the only thing I will suggest. Keep it up, we're getting to the real stuff now.

Tanmay Pancholi

Not to spoil or hype anything up, But Please try to watch episodes 16,17 and 18 in one sitting Trust Us there's no other better way. Who all agrees?

MikiBlack

Guys, I fully respect Your schedule, but please try to react to 13,14,15 and then 16,17,18 togather. The latter episodes are great to watch togather! Cheers friends!

Katie O’Pella

It took me listening to the intro's full song for it to grow on me a ton! It def hits different <3 Love yalls reactions and appreciate the open mindedness and predictions!

Patience

React to 16,17,18 Together no other way to watch those episodes like that

Miki

pay closer attention to the "undesireables" that were mentioned. this anime doesn't just show people on a whim

Miki

i just want to say that without spoiling I think Mr. Reis historia dad is the furthest from the rock movie mentioned lol

CT
>>139301798

This is most likely not gonna happen cause of their schedule. Let’s be mindful.

MikiBlack
>>139301798

I am mindfuI and I think it not unrealistic. So far noone asked them for certain episodes or pushed them to watch more. But episodes 16,17 and 18 should be watched togather, that's all. This is small request which is within this 30% chance they were talking about. We are also asking much in advance, so they could have time to plan ahead. That is exactly what being mindful is 😉

CT
>>139301798

Yes and I agree in terms of 16-18 all in one since they already do that with finales anyways, but for asking for 3x eps in a row 2 times is unrealistic and most likely wouldn’t fit their schedule. I don’t think they’ve ever done it before hence the let’s be mindful comment, which I don’t think you’re being 😊 All love and I honestly hope they do it too 😂

Leopold Kristoffersen

I hope they caught that Reiss is the true royal blood (: Its kind of a big deal...

MikiBlack
>>139301798

I suggested other "3" because season 3 has 22 episode mate. So they need to even it out anyway. What I think is that you should be more mindfuI towards other Patron members. I have the right to write a comment and ask for more episodes, which I did really politely using the word "try". Noone is forcing or threatening them, and they will ultimately do what they want so don't be so damn sensitive.🤷 Cheers to you too 🍺

Diplex

the opening's imagery is probably my favorite of all the intros gives me chills in retrospect.

CT
>>139301798

Don’t get so worked up over a reply love ❤️ We can both hope they do 3x eps in a row. I won’t be checking replys after this. Cheers 🍻!

Low

Hope you guys do My Hero Academia after AOT

Matthew W
>>139659196

The only correct answer is for them to watch Death Note next. *MAYBE* Fullmetal alchemist. I don't see MHA as a good next anime for them.

MikiBlack
>>139301798

Wow. Amazing. Everything you write sounds like it's coming from patronizing grandma 🤣 Despite your condescending tone I would still drink with you. 🍺🍻 Have a good one!

Alexz Ehlers

I'm with you Diamond Dave. I've watched the series more than once and this song never once grew on me.

krai

Please react to the endings with lyrics someday!

krai
>>139181146

I think he meant they missed the part of the episode where it is revealed that the Historia Reiss is the true heir of the throne.

MooLake

If we keep taking out the bad people there’s less people that need to eat - Answer you crack me up
