I jumped and screamed so loud at the end on my first watch. Haven't had a TV show do that to me in a long time!

Kat M.

John was not gonna stop her. He was honoring her by honoring her wishes.

JessTellsTales

This end destroyed me too. Just wanted to jump in and say this is not a true story— it's just historical fiction. The culture and larger events are accurate representations though. Also, John volunteering to be Mariko's second was so powerful because he knew how important her faith was to her and he couldn't let her do what she believed was damning herself to hell. Can't wait to watch the finale with yall!

Toan Toan

Yea.... I sat there in silence for what felt like hours. Anna's performance throughout this show made me so attached to Mariko, that her loss left me in shambles.

Bartimaeus

John said, "Hell is a place I haven't already known," which sort of means like he's going to hell for her. John will go to such lengths for her while Kiyama, the Christian lord regent would not.

Jo Smith

oh. it's this epi... /grabs the popcorn/ ;)

TexasSnyper

A double drop! I'm gonna have to come watch both of these in a bit.

TexasSnyper

That ending just blew through The Oak's hope for Plot Armor LOLOL!!!

MateoP

Wow one of the few shows where the women are as good if not better than the male actors! This is how you write a female character! Not her being able to kill 20 guys twice her size 🤡🤣 they use their wits to win📈 10/10

Arudorin

Hahaha! Oak's plot armor got blown off at the end. Also, I don't know the history of the shogun, so I can't comment on that aspect. However, the writing and acting are great.

btw, links are not working

they explained what is crimson sky way before this episode,, if not mistaken, John was the one who asked what is crimson sky.. well no need to confuse,, that is what crimson sky...

Aaron Dimech

Not gonna lie. Im a 34 year old dude, and I am not ashamed to say that I cried my eyes out at the end of this episode like i was heart broken. Second time seeing it with you guys. Happened again. Great reaction boys.

William Hardy

technically the show is historical fiction since that's what the book is, loosely based on the power struggle leading to the formation of the tokugawa shogunate but if characters were based on real people, their names has been changed
