In the comics miss marvel powers is similar to Mr. Fantastic aka reed Richard’s. In this show it’s similar and different… but marvel studios said she will eventually get those powers

Just so you guy know, the package that Kamala got the bangle from was sent from her grandmother (her mother’s mom). Kamala refers to her as Nani in this episode.

Fun fact: Bruno aka Matt aka Henry was one of the finalist in the running to play Spider-Man and lost to Tom Holland, so they gave this similar role (smart tech kid)

I enjoyed this, I liked the style of the show and the animations in the background. I think the lead was the perfect choice for the role, I feel like she is the character, but without the superpowers, as far as I know and she's a fan of Iron Man rather than Captain Marvel.

So this portion of the MCU gets a lot of hate. I loved Ms. Marvel obvi I'm not of middle eastern or southeast Asian decent but I am a first-generation immigrant with my parents being from Mexico and dealing with family traditions and religion. This was such a fun show. It truly captured the feel of being a child of immigrants coming into your own while being true to your family and your American culture and I cannot commend the show enough for its writing.

Disney+ marvel shows are so mid smh not even worth watching for the shared universe (Ms marvel will not even be part of the next marvel phase just like the eternals or all phase 4 which was semi rebooted since they got rid of Khan for Dr Doom) such a shame this shit shows get a chance instead of other shows with actual quality like Netflix Daredevil

You do know Daredevil Born Again comes out in an a few months right? And that Daredevil on Netflix ended because of Netflix’s contract prior to Disney plus being a thing. 😂 you know MsMarvel has a 98% rating and 80% rating with fans right? Bro like chill out it’s extra content. Sure if you didn’t like it that’s cool. But chill out babe cakes. All of phase 4 was mid in general but had nothing to do with the diversity, following up a 10 yr pay off is hard to top.

Oh and idk how old you are but I remember right after the first avengers movie marvel got this same hate. Social medias evolved a lot more since 2012 and the hate boner for marvel hadn’t gotten as big. But people were saying a lot of the same things about it then.

Daredevil Born Again have been a complete mess multiple scripts have been approved to later being discarded after starting filming, I don’t know what that has to do, I could bet my left arm that it will not be half as good as Netflix Daredevil, and Ms Marvel won’t be in phase 5 she is an irrelevant character that doesn’t sell merch nor movie tickets, if she is in phase 5 it will be a 10 sec irrelevant cameo, people tend to forget they made movies to make money not to provide “diversity”

It could have a 100% rating but if only 12 people watched the show it doesn’t matter, and I did like episode 1 of Ms Marvel but sadly episode 1 was its peak, the terrible cgi and writing in later episodes is just dogshit

Yeah The Marvels, the biggest Disney Marvel flop in the box office, the marvels is a good summary of Phase 4, bad writing, bad acting, forgettable, you are delusional to think they will give Kamala any important role lol it will be surprising if they just dont even mention her just like The Eternals

I loved this show. I am 32 (Although I look a lot younger). I could really relate to Kamala in this show. While I am not Pakistani. I do remember being 16 vividly and I was a daydreamer. I still am to a point. I also can sort of relate to the culture differences. I was in foster care from the time I was a toddler until I got adopted at 5. My adoptive family is white. Being a black girl/ woman in the South. I lived predominantly in a upper middle class city in Kentucky and a upper middle class suburb of Atlanta. I felt like I was torn between 2 worlds and cultures a lot as a teenager. I had extended family members who didn't understand me. Especially if I would try learn more about black culture. It was a lot.

You know some of the greatest movies had scripts were trashed before released, some were redone from top to bottom & or just restarted and still became smash hits. Judging a show that has not released yet 😂 kinda just weird. End of the day the original cast from the Netflix show including the punisher are coming back. I usually form my opinions after I’ve watched something. But saying you know it’ll be bad before it has released is just whining, it’s counter productive & just going off your feelings. Sure once it’s aired and you wanna discuss pacing, bad writing, weird creative direction I’ll have that chat but after we’ve seen it. 😂 I don’t understand why y’all read into Hollywood rumors y’all just like being negative for no reason. 😂

Funny enough he was a finalist. Marvel & Sony were looking for a young actor who could carry a franchise. This era of the MCU & superhero flicks in general were where the actors were getting older and most were pushing late 30s. The idea behind this spider man was he was supposed to be young. And they were wanting to get a teenager. They ended up with Tom because he was a more experienced actor. From the articles I’ve seen*

Discovering this alongside your reactions. I really really liked this pilot, the visual creativity is great 😀 Oh I didn't know Oak had Indian family members, how interesting! You guys talked about the theme of clashing cultures, growing up south asian in the west etc, well I already recommended many Indian movies to you but there is one on this topic so I just feel like mentioning it, it's the romcom Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (nicknamed DDLJ) 🙂 It has one of the longest theater runs in the world. It was realeased in 1995 and is still running in a Mumbai theater. It's the most iconic Bollywood movie of the past 30 years. It's also the movie that made Shah Rukh Khan a superstar (he had his first movie 3 years prior). It became a musical on Broadway in 2022 and will get a UK version in 2025. So definitely a must see for people exploring Indian cinema 😊
