pls dont, watching shows in the original language they are made in is better i think. i feel like its just weird to choose to watch a japanese show thats made in japan by japanese people with a japanese animation company with a japenese director with japanese voice actors thats based on a japanese manga where the story takes place in japan written by a japanese person in ENGLISH done by a 3RD PARTY dubbing company (unless you have some sort of reading issue with subtitles of course) (or if youre just putting it on in the background or something)

Hahaha

Dave, when are you guys dropping the AOT musical suite?

Kyra Brown

White chicks 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I'm thinking this week. This is one week that we are trying to pre record to free up time for the holiday. With our family schedules we all have several thanksgivings to go to. So if not this week, it will be for sure next week. 🤙

Choux D Bruxelles

I've said this before and will say it again: You really need to see "A Discovery of Witches," starring Matthew Goode and Teresa Palmer. It's one of the best book-to-screen adaptations I've seen in years. The show is based on the 'Souls Trilogy book series by Deborah Harkness. It has three short seasons. In my opinion, this show's writing, directing, filming, and acting are some of the best digital has to offer today.

Low

Hope Death Note is in English dub

Brooksie

Woop woop can't wait for White Chick's 🙌🏾

Low
>>156359252

It’s all animated characters flapping their mouths up and down, you can dub any language over it and it’s fine

Lucille Waters

So excited to get you opinion on death note!

JOJO
>>156359252

Third party? Dude its an officially licensed dub and youre whining about something that the japanese companies purposefully integrate into their anime which is accessibility. Just go read manga if you want purity, oh wait you cant unless you know japanese otherwise it has to be translated to english which means the voices you imagine the characters speaking in are in english (oh noo)

Skellyp

Dave, have you guys posted when you’ll be doing the AoT stream? Are you still planning to do that? Did I miss it?

Badd Medicine
>>156362625

The live stream will happen on the main channel. That's currently the plan when it wraps on the cuts. We still have a few things AOT coming.

Steven Warner

Deathnote was my first anime Ive experienced, long time ago hyped for this rewatch 🤙🏻

Hahaha
>>156359252

officially liscensed or not, the voice actors for the dub were not casted nor directed by the original creators of the show. the creators of the show have almost no input into the dub. they just release their show in japan and completely outsource the dub voice actors to 3rd party dubbing companies. obviously you have to read manga in english since you cant read japanese but the voices in your head are completely different to the ones on the screen.

>>156359252

Have you even watched DeathNote Eng Dub? Because I have and i can tell you its one of the best eng dubbed anime you will see.

Hahaha
>>156359252

the point is that you are missing the original voices of the show. you are watching a show with voice actors that were not officially casted or directed by the original creators. Imagine watching avatar last airbender in another language. wether or not you knew english, you are missing out on the original voice actors casted for the show. Voices like aang's, katara's, iroh's, zuko's and azula's. saying that its just animated characters flapping their mouths up and down is undermining the original voice actors of the show.

Honestly the weird thing is watching a show in a language you don't understand. Even Japanese people being interviewed on the street have commented this. They watch American movies and cartoons and stuff in their own language because that's natural to do so. The only exceptions are when they understand English themselves or are trying to learn it.

Cheri
>>156359252

death note dub is one of the best dubs of all time and for native English speakers is the best way to enjoy the show IMO

Nikki Jade

White Chicks and Alice, Let’s Go!

Hahaha
>>156359252

i have heard it and it is better than most. but my regardless of how good it is. i find it weird to watch a show in another language than its made in.

Butthats

Sherlock Holmes is so underrated! Such a fun movie

Hahaha
>>156359252

yes that is true, if you are simply a casual watcher. but i feel like as these guys are a dedicated reaction/review channel, its only right to watch the show in the language that its made in. changing languages for convenience in this situation is just a bit strange to me. You can still absolutely understand a show just fine with subtitles. Are subtitles too difficult or something?

TexasSnyper

Looks like we got a banger of a week this week!

Alyssa Dyson

Agatha all along was surprisingly pretty good.

Clorox bleach G

So excited for death note and white chicks, I love when you guys watch funny stuff

OtakuIsHolaco

why diamond dave is not reacting to death note ep 1 and 2 with the hommies??

Emily G

You guys should watch Bridget Jones Diary for December it’s really good. (I also put it in the recommendations) 🤞🙏

Aria Isara

I'm finally gonna watch Death Note with you then!! 😲 Over 15 years back I had school friends who were into mangas and Death Note was super popular among them. Bleach and One Piece were the 2 others that I had heard about because they were that big, even someone knowing nothing about mangas and anime like me knew the names. This will be my first anime as I haven't had time to start AOT yet.

Magda Ch

Waiting to find out when the Attack on Titan live round table will be :) I don’t want to miss it for anything in the world!! And I’m excited for the reactions to the suite and all the opening and ending songs!

Alanna Banana 🍌

Yay can’t wait for White Chicks, the Q&A, and Agatha

Alexander Alayon Jr

Wowwww stacked week!! Deathnote, Agatha, & Sherlock Holmes!! ✨️

Sanji

I hope you guys react to more episodes or add another anime show to your weekly drops! There's so many AMAZING animes you guys MUST react to! (Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Code Geass, Vinland Saga)

Cheri
>>156359252

They watched dialogue-heavy AOT episodes dubbed for convenience. Death Note is all dialogue, and understanding Lights use of language and tone is much easier in a language you speak.

Letha Mae

I definitely will upgrade to membership ASAP sorry. I can't believe it's taken me so long to get on Patreon

FFXIVBLM

Please watch Netflix series Dark. It’ll blow your minds and it’s possibly one of the best series on the platform.

Ashley Barlow

Pls do Death Note in the English Dub. It's the only Anime that everyone agrees has an amazing dub that isn't cringe and till date is still the ONLY anime that I as an Anime lover have seen in dubbed. Plssss
