Superman Teaser Trailer reaction

Comments

Arudorin

finally been waiting for ya'll to react to this!

Josh Gibson

After watching superman and lois, this doesn't even excite me! That show was a perfect way to bring superman to its fans!

bennett ray

July can’t come fast enough

Calen Lawlor

fyi your video is out of sync with the trailer in your breakdown portion of the video

Kaley

I may see this film just for Krypto haha! 🐾🦸🏻‍♂️

started to notice it at 5:55 cause you guys were silent and nothing was happening on screen😂

Elroy

I’ve never been a big Superman fan and even wasn’t on board when Cavill got removed from the role but wow this trailer completely convinced me! This looks like such a pure, kind and hopeful version of the character!

It was perfect I doubt anyone can capture that, I think it was the family aspect that made it so great

The Bill Casey

So all the main characters seen in this video are Superman, Lois, Lex Luthor, Krypto, Pa Kent, Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Hawkgirl, Metamorpho (weird looking dude with blue eyes), Ultraman (the guy running through a wall and fighting Superman in the stadium), Mister Terrific (dude with the black “T” mask on his face). We’re also a some point getting The Engineer, Supergirl and Rick Flag Sr, supposedly.

Arudorin

For a teaser trailer, I wasn’t expecting them to show half of the characters already, especially since they didn't reveal more. The actor playing Superman, David Corenswet, was the one who suggested using the trunk suit and making the suit brighter. Jason Fillion portrays Guy Gardner from the Lantern Corps, and then there’s Mr. Terrific, the one you see with the shield while getting shot; it's not Cyborg so you rest assured of that quin. Then we also have Hawkgirl. I believe the character at the end was Metamorpho.

It felt like every episode made me feel something in a different way. I will be re-watching that series for years to come!

Ron Banks

Kinda seems like we need to watch the super pets movie now. I haven’t watched it yet. It stars The Rock and Kevin Heart so it should be fun.

Jade Lastra

I loved Krypto the Superdog tv show growing up and that was how I was introduced to both Krypto and Ace the Bathound. Also you guys kind of touched on this, but James Gunn wanted that first shot in the trailer to be of a beaten and bloody Superman to represent the current state of America. "It's about the basic kindness of human beings, and that it can be seen as uncool and undersiege [by] some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices." (also Smallville mention in 2024, LETS GO!)

I loveddd krypto the superdog as a kid 😭 one of my fav things to watch on tv

As pro-wrestlers, I’m sure you’ll appreciate knowing that Superman was made with the trunks on the outside originally because the creators wanted him to appear as a wrestler/circus strongman. When Gunn was making the costume, he was almost dead set on not using the trunks. But David Corenswet, the actor playing Superman, told Gunn, that Superman is supposed to be trying to appeal to children, that the trunks are there to show that he’s a good guy like pro wrestlers are. Since he’s an alien kids might think he’s scary, so the trunks and bright colors are an intentional part of his costume to show he’s not a bad guy. When Gunn heard this, he said trunks all the way. Not only does it show Gunn is willing to listen, but Corenswet has done his homework, and myself as a HUGE Superman and wrestling fan appreciate the attention to detail. Just a little tidbit!

It was too goofy for my taste. Not hating on it tho. I'm glad so many people are liking this.

BlueJean452

I’m super excited for Krypto. The last thing I saw him in was the Titans tv show and he was a bad ass. Hopefully MQ doesn’t need to worry about him. Also love that they are including Mr Terrific. All my knowledge of him is coming from the Arrowverse but definitely can’t wait to see how they expand on him here.

Thanks for naming all of them, I recognized some but not all. I remember them from the the arrow tv show and it made me really happy to see how they are finally getting those characters into the movies

Alexiani Gollarza

The "John Wick" wishper from Answer and the pause from the Oak ahahahha loved this reaction and weirdly enough, your talk about it made me more excited to see the movie

MynamecouldB

I am so excited for this, I think this trailer looks great. I'd like to recommend Creature Commandos as it is the first show that is part of James Gunn's new DC Studios and then this Superman will be the first movie.

Tim Tiernan

I really hope you watch the DC Superpets movie. I think you guys would love it.

Conor Moriarty

I think Oak will really appreciate this tidbit about Krypto the dog. He usually is portrayed as more of a generic lab looking dog but James Gunn said he based to look off his own dog which was a rescue that he said changed his life for the better, so he wanted to share that with everyone on screen.

Conor Moriarty

Also the Justice League cartoon and Justice League Unlimited cartoon are great shows that introduce you to a lot of DC stuff. I watched it as a kid and its a great base to get to know a bunch of different heroes. Their highly regarded and worth the watch

LaLa

As a life long Superman fan I am not terribly excited for this. I've watched every iteration even the ones before Reeves, read the comics from time I was 9. There is something about this trailer that just isn't hitting it for me. 🤷‍♀️ I'm thrilled for everyone else that is excited for July to come, but I'm going to be a bit more reserved in my expectations. Even with Gunn at the helm. Truth be told I'll be super happy to be proven wrong about this.

Paul Yu

Like Oak, I got chills, the warm and fuzzies and so much hype from watching the trailer 🤘😁

we appreciate the effort you guys put in - sorry for the troubles 😢

I recommend the animated series 'My adventures with Superman'. I feel they perfectly captured goofy softboy Clark Kent.

Bunnie

I watched the trailer but I'm not excited about this. Superman's story has been done to death that there is no longer an excitement whenever a "reboot" happens. Same with Batman. DC literally only have those 2 as their popular heroes and I get that, but I would be more excited if they do a Martian Manhunter movie (he's my fave) or another continuation of Wonder Woman. Or heck, I'd happily watch a live action Superpets movie.

Jordan Dobbs

If y’all arnt seeing it in theatres you might wanna mute a couple of key words on your social medias I have a feeling this is gonna be PACKED with spoiler-y surprises! As a Batman person I’m genuinely surprised with how much I like this teaser!

Jordan Dobbs

I believe Edi Gathegi is planing Mr. Terrific!

Bluhawke

Not excited because I'm burnt out on the superhero movies in general and especially of reboots. I loved the Reeves movies. Loved Man of Steel (thought they should have stopped there, as much as I love Henry Cavill), and from what I've seen of clips, the CW superman show is going well. Why are we doing this again? Can we at least get a decade between reboots? Let people get hungry for the characters again? But I'm happy for the people who do want it. Hopefully, it turns out well.

Aria Isara

Gotta be honest I haven't really followed anything DC for years now. I'm more interested in the Christopher Reeve documentary that I still haven't seen.
