>>160208444

Are you clicking the link in the description or clicking it via email? Just curious for my knowledge.

Christina

I can’t get off work fast enough!!!!

Angel Griffin

Now you’ve seen it you need to watch some of the bts. Fun fact - Cynthia and Ariana their songs live on set! Also correct me if I’m wrong anyone but the train was a real train that they made!

Andrew

"Tick Tick Boom" with Andrew Garfield is another musical that is worth reacting to if you guys haven't seen it already.

Ron Banks

Took my mom to see this. She claims not to like musicals but every time I take her to something with singing she enjoys it 🤣 especially this.

Steph

What a way to start my day!! 😁

Anya

Y'all are wicked for this! Great way to start the weekend! 🙌 Thank you!💚💚💚💚

Audrey

These are all songs from the theatrical production! No new original songs in this one but there will be some in the second movie. I love the political allegory with the showing the rise of fascism with blaming the animals for everything. It’s very dark! Great reaction guys!!

SeraRose

I am another person who has many feelings about this show and am so glad that they did it justice! Thank you for the reaction ☺️

Do Not Talk About Fight Club

Guys.....I saw this last night. If I knew you guys would have been watching this.....I would have just waited and watched it with you lol.

SeraRose
>>160217316

Yeah, they did build a lot of the sets as opposed to having the actors work mostly against green screen

Anthony Velasquez

all the songs in this part are from the musicals they have confirmed that there will be a couple new songs in part 2

J Knight

Mason Quinn won't even understand how insane his intuition really is until next year

Anthony Velasquez

Hoping next musicals to be reacted to are In The Heights(directed by the same guy who directed Wicked), Rent, Tick Tick Boom and Hairspray also Dear Evan Hansen though I will say the theatrical version is far superior to the movie version

Audrey

Think of the wizard of oz as the propaganda story and wicked as what actually happened. I think yall are gonna love part 2!

Emily G

Please please react to Into the Woods (2015) and Moulin Rouge (2001)!! I really think you guys would enjoy them 🤞❤️

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

There are lots of behind-the-scenes stuff on YouTube worth hunting down, where they get into the makeup, hair (Cynthia Erivo shaves her head - Elphaba's hair was all wigs - sorry to disillusion, Oak!), set building - all of it. Here is Cynthia Erivo singing "Defying Gravity" upside-down in a harness while flying (and yes Oak, you're saying it right): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mPq5ae03SA Here are the original Elphaba and Glinda - Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth - performing "Defying Gravity" on the Tony Awards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymi0HF-zwLg The sets were mostly practical - really built up and out. There's *some* green-screen work but a great deal of the sets are absolutely there, including the train. Here's some footage of the sets being built and then filmed in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3lvXkyyg7I I can't tell you what giddy joy I felt watching The Answer mouthing the words to "Defying Gravity." 100% chef's-kiss reaction. There are talking animals in Oz and it isn't considered odd, which I think knowing the original "Wizard of Oz" movie better would have helped with that - The Cowardly Lion speaks, so you would have been taken less by surprise by the talking animals. In the Oz books, the slippers are silver, not ruby - the movie "The Wizard of Oz" was showing off the new Technicolor procedure and went with bright red instead of silver. You'll note Nessa Rose has silver slippers. The ruby shoes Glinda pulls out in "Popular" is just a nod to the original movie. All of the songs in this movie are from the original Broadway show - nothing new was added. We have been told that there are a few new songs for Part 2. Oak - check your local movie theaters - many of them have showings of Wicked that are specifically identified as sing-along showings!

Anthony Velasquez

Also Quinn really did not like Glinda I get that she is very unlikable but never did I think she was using Elphaba or acting like her friend she definitely cared about her but Glinda still has her own selfish ambitions there was a comment that was made that she was purposely distracting Elfie so she couldnt fly off and giving the guards time to catch up but didnt see it that way at all I think she was going to go but obviously was stopped and Madam Morrible ends up manipulating Glinda probably by promising to give Glinda all she wanted from the start

maliemoment

Oof, I’m loving the opinions on characters for this first one because I cannot WAIT for the plot twists in part 2 👀👀👀😭😭😭

maliemoment

The newer Hairspray would make for an amazing reaction!!!

Anthony Velasquez
>>160224721

Color me intrigued then I have purposely avoided to check out the 2nd act of the show because I watched the movie first so dont want no spoilers when I do watch the 2nd movie

Alexiani Gollarza

Guys, (DD who is the one probably reading this) I remember that in some occasions you've said that some people criticize you for speaking over the dialogue but let me talk to you 🤣 I LOVED THIS REACTION. I do not care one bit about that, the were SO MANY moments in this reactions that I loved, from Mason's skepticism (always side eying Linda XD) to the jokes about the prince, to personal jokes, to Answer not letting speak anyone (like the prince), the jokes on Mason's intuition, this reaction is gold and that you so much for being yourselves, that may sound weird but thanks for staying true to yourselves. The last few reaction have been a blast because of that, because you joke, you laugh, you cry, you enjoy everything you do and that makes us happy. Thanks again🤍 P.s it's good to see more of you in the reactions DD, I know it must make your schedule pretty crazy so thanks for being here

Mabi

I am once again recommending the musical Les Misérables🙏 There is good reason why the 1862 novel has received so many different adaptations in so many different forms and why the musical is the second longest-running musical of all time

patrick

I'm so happy you guys enjoyed this movie. I've been a die hard Wicked fan for the past 13 years and its been my favorite musical ever since, and the rumour that they made a movie has been going around for 10+ years. So by the time it got ACTUALLY announed, I was kinda over it lol. I gotta admit tho, when it was first announced, I wasnt sure about it. Especially about Ariana being casted. No shade towards Ari, but back then I could NOT see her as Glinda. I never been more wrong. Her and Cynthia carried this movie! Everyone did a phenomenal job and I have to say, the waiting was definitely worth it. They added a lot of moments from the book into the movie, thats why, the first part has almost the same length as the whole musical itself. But I'm glad they did it. Better a super long Part 1 then the whole movie but being too stuffed. I absolutely cannot wait for Part 2, knowing the musical by heart, I can tell you guys its gonne be SO much better than Part 1! (I also kinda hope you wait with watching the stage musical until you watched part 2. I want you guys to go in blind :D)

I'm Batman

This movie was just, wow, 5/5 easily. Seeing part 2 in the theatres (non sing along though since I haven't seen the stage musical and wanna focus without being annoyed by others singing lol)

Mackenzie OReally

I’m a psychopath who watched this whole thing on blur (now my eyes hurt) but the colors were so vibrant I could still follow along 😅 I so enjoyed the Answer giving the camera looks for what’s to come

Jorreca

I've watched this movie four time now (and counting) AND I KNOW MY NEIGHBOURS ARE SICK OF MEEEE. I love love loved that you guys had a chance to react to this.

Kelly Terry

With Cynthia being a Tony award winning actress, she chose to have the makeup applied every day to help her get into character

J.T. Goodman

Thanks Gentlemen for the watch along. Went directly to YouTube to watch Clash of Champions and watch Oz in action. Never would've thought pro wrestling and Wicked would mix lol.

Lauren

Saw this on Broadway and 2006 and have been ever since! The music is amazing, and the movie did the OG play so much justice.

Raphaelle

Me focusing on Answer and Diamond Dave giggling to each other each time Boq appears on screen. I know what you're thinking!!

Sophia Sanchez

I love Wicked! Y’all should check out some of the deleted scenes - I get why they weren’t included but they add a lot to the characters (especially Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship)! LOL at Mason Quinn’s immense dislike for Glinda. I think she’s definitely a little mysterious in this first part with her intentions. Something I noticed while watching was a lot of conflicting emotions from Glinda in the first scene, which was interesting. She looks like she’s holding back tears in some shots! Another thing I also noticed was is the only time Glinda really takes a stand, when she dances with Elphaba at the ballroom, the lighting makes her skin look green. 👀 Cynthia needs to win awards for her performance as Elphaba. I’m so excited to see how her story progresses in Part 2. Her performance during Defying Gravity makes me so emotional. Thanks for the reaction!! I’m so excited for Part 2. It has some of my favorite songs from the stage show. This first part was pretty accurate to the stage with no added songs, but they’re going to be adding a couple new songs for Part 2. Looking forward to it!

Jae

I’m commenting on this again, but if you guys are interested some of the production behind the scenes are fabulous. So much of the sets are practical, like the train is real and able to move on a track. I’m glad they spent the time and money on them because it makes the movie feel less fake. Even that Mount Rushmore style carving of Jeff Goldblum in the rock was real too which I was floored to find out. They also used a surplus of actual extras and dancers not just cgi-ing in people to fill the background. Also Cynthia did get herself painted green, she had the option to be cgi-ed or be put in makeup. Also I they sung on set so they had a lot of extra recording equipment. The lives without the sound mixing in the behind the scenes are fantastic. Ariana actually did vocal training for operatic singing. There’s just so much fun stuff and the memes from the press run it was amazing. The sing-a-long is very fun! On my third watch of wicked I went to the singalong and my AMC was half full and it was so much fun! If you’re unsure of going I’d watch a few TikToks of people who went to kinda see if you’ll like the vibe but I was so elated to be singing with people in the theater. The two girls who sat next to me were so fun and we talked a bit before the show and sang to each other it was super great, lol I kinda want to go again.

Anthony Velasquez
>>160231655

Part 2 songs I have high standards for never seen the whole show and wont until I see part 2 of the movies its going to tough for me with how many great songs were in part 1

Kelsey

Poor Margaret Hamilton who played the wicked witch of the west in the wizard of oz. The green makeup they used for her was toxic which could have made her sick and she was badly burned during the fireball scene. Not very safe sets back in the day. This movie made me almost cry at the end it was so amazing in the theater. Everything about it was amazing! The vocals are stunning. I have seen the show once. I don’t believe extra songs were added to this. I love the soundtrack I have been playing in my car to commute so much lol. Glad you watched it and enjoyed it. Have you seen hairspray the movie? I enjoy that movie too and very deep themes.

Bella H
>>160229834

Did you see the TikTok of people watching in the theatre. When Boq says “I’d do anything for you” a guy screams out “like leave your wife!”. I laughed so hard.

Anthony Velasquez
>>160234826

It was definitely not right what alot those actors endured with the original film cant even watch the original anymore knowing the things that I know now when it came to making that movie and what the actors went through

Bella H

Just want to say I am really enjoying the full uncut versions. Makes it so much easier for me not having to use two devices and sync everything. Just wish they were up for longer haha.

K M
>>160225237

Answer cried in the theatre during the shadow dancing scene ❤️

Mabi
>>160234826

Not quite, the green makeup had the potential to make her sick if she ingested it so she had to be careful when eating during breaks on set, but she never actually ended up ingesting it and getting sick. Her getting burned did happen tho

e

i hated glinda too mason quinn im on your side🙏

hails

I felt like answer during this reaction - giddily side eyeing the other three to see their reactions as a wicked superfan lol 😂

Alexiani Gollarza

Now that I remember, "batman doesn't have *** on her" in the scene Elphaba was flying. Gold

Bri
>>160221900

Right lol, I watched it Tuesday, but I liked it even more the 2nd watch!

Lauren

Answer’s love for this movie and singing made my year.

Stephen Hert

One more thing, I haven't looked to see if anyone has commented, but Act 1 or in this case Part 1, all songs in act 1 are included. No originals. There are 2 original songs being composed for Act 2 by the Original Composer for the film.

Steph

Masons hatred for glinda is sooo real 😭😭😭

Paul Yu (BlehBlarghBlah)

First time watched this with you gents - I love how I watch movies/shows I wouldn't have otherwise watched if it wasn't for this channel. Loved your reactions and banter throughout this phenomenal movie. The Cynthia's performance as Elphaba got me misty-eyed a few times especially during her silent dance and her singing Defying Gravity. As always thanks for all your work and dedication to this channel gents!🤘😁❤️

Love10 ❤️

Mason is so angry he hates everyone hahahaha minus Elphaba hahahaha I'm dying watching this again. I love it lmao

Conor Moriarty

Mason quinn always encouraging villainy is hilarious everytime

Megan Schnese

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this movie! It's one of my new favorite movies and it's such a blast to watch!

Selena G

Love the reaction, it would be so cool to see rewatches of certain shows and movies after they get more context. 🧐

Alanna Meyers 🍌

This movie is the definition of never meet your heroes. Elephaba, like many people idolized the Wizard. And she was the most disappointed you could be upon meeting him.

Alanna Meyers 🍌

I think the thing a lot of people don’t get is Glinda’s intentions are good but her execution isn’t always. She’s lived a very wealthy, privileged life where she is used to getting her way and all of her behaviour reflects that. Doesn’t necessarily make her wicked, it makes her human. People ask “so if Elephaba isn’t the villain, who is? Is it Glinda?” which is, in my opinion, the point of the story. Nobody is 100% good or 100% wicked.

KT180

I have been WAITING for this. Having issues with the uncut version tho - it is not loading :(

J C

Wow! What a great time! As a long time fan of the stage production, I was eager and a little anxious to see how they were going to bring the show to the big screen, especially since a lot of times, you tend to lose some of the "magic" of the stage production when it's taken to film, and of course, there was a lot of worry about who was actually going to be cast for the different roles in the film. Far too often, movies are cast with well-known names who are less trained as singers than their Broadway counterparts, so it's always a gamble. I think it was mentioned that all of the songs in this first part are in the stage show - however, I did notice one extra little song that was inserted, and that is that moment in the Emerald City when they present the story of Oz, as told by Kristen Chenowith & Idina Menzel. That part of "One Short Day" is not in the stage production, if I remember correctly. However, Jon Chu felt that the story behind the Wizard and the Grimmerie (the spell book) needed to be told to inform the audience better. And of course, it was a way to honor Kristen & Idina and give them a moment to show off their vocal chops with some of their iconic vocal riffs. I really appreciated, as you guys mentioned, the ultra use of color in this film. And watching it with you guys, it makes me wonder if the super bright and saturated colors were all part of the plan, as the Wizard of Oz (the film) was the first film in color, and the moment when the film goes from black/white to color was a moment that astounded audiences. I think that sometime over the next few months before the second part comes out in November, that you guys should do a review of the Wizard of Oz film, so that you can answer all of the questions you have about what the witch was like in the original film. :) Thanks for an awesome time!

Anya

🎵🎶"I hope your happy" was such a heartwarming message towards each other. In the beginning, they sang it AT each other in an accusatory tone. At the end of it, they sang it TO each other- genuinely hoping they're happy with their own choices at the end🥹 💚🩷

Anya

Ofc Galinda would be harder to relate to. She's self-centered & doesn't help others unless it's beneficial for her. That being said...she grew up privileged and hasn't faced adversity like Elphaba has. I think one of the best things that happened to her was meeting Elphaba. Elphaba challenged her, questioned her, and told her no. Galinda has always been surrounded by "yes men" that never held her responsible or accountable. Galinda has a good heart and potential to be a better person. We root for Elphaba because we as humans face our own adversity. They're both great character foils in the best way. 🩷💚

Suzi Howard

Loved the film and the reaction. Just a query, will the lion cub grow up to be the cowardly lion?

Ronny H
>>160267059

It would be such a good tie in if it does end up being the lion 😊

Natacha Pedersen

Fun fact, in Denmark we do actually "burn a witch" every year at midsummer! We have huge bonfires across the country and most of them will have a straw or newspaper witch on them. Often these witches are stuffed with whistling chaser type fireworks(which are called "witches howl" in Danish!). We say that we're sending them to Germany when they get burned - I often wonder if that's a "pay back" for the occupation during WWII 😂

Katie

The beginning of this movie all I can quote in my head is “she came down in a bubble Doug!” 😂

NS

Funniest part is Diamond Dave’s face trying to make sense of Ethan Slater.

Ronny H

Mason was definitely me the first time I watched this movie 🤣 everyone at that school was awful

Ronny H

I have a theory that Oz is Elphabas father. He was drinking green elixir to gain magical powers but instead they went to his offspring. No one has said anything about it yet, so I might just be reaching but I thought for sure that's where this movie was headed.

Anthony Velasquez
>>160276299

He definitely is it was clear to me that that was Jeff Goldblum singing to Elfie mother in the beginning

Love10 ❤️

I've watched this video about 3x now...... I think I have a problem

Phillip Grischa
>>160276299

A theory is not a spoiler, neither is recognizing Jeff Goldblum's voice. You spoiled it by calling it a spoiler thereby confirming the theory is correct.

Ronny H
>>160276299

Yeah im not going to delete that. Part 2 isn't out yet so I could be completely wrong. If I am right I don't think they were trying to hide it all that much. Everyone watched the same movie I did, the clues that lead me to create the theory were pretty obvious.

star

day 25 of asking for les mis

Stephen Hert
>>160282111

Wicked has been on repeat in my house. You know how some people are OBSESSED with Hamilton? That's me with Wicked. LOL

Javier Padilla

NO ACT II SPOILERS I love how this story explore goodness as one of the first lines being "Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?" One philosophical question for the ages. With that in mind we can see the true ethics of the characters and more important society's views on them. As Glinda being someone regarded as good when she is just appeling to the status quo. And Elphaba being the bad one for seeking trully good deeds but defying a set system. It's a wonderfull story of how they must learn from one another and change their ways. This is magifically done during the ballroom scene and the events leading up to them. As Glinda stars by doing a selfish act to get rid of Boq and even is regarded as "good" by Fyero as Glinda only sees goodness as a mean to get what she wants, so then Elphaba responds with a trully selfless act (even an inconvenience to her) to repay her for doing something good for someone else, as she believes is just. Triggers the tipping point for Glinda as she begins to understand true goodness beginning her "Glinda the good arc". But first she has to understand what goodness trully is. I mean i can go on an on abouth ethics and justice but for one i'll just thank you guys for watching this film. And i'm stocked for you to see what happens next. Big big big fan PS. Answer whispering the lyrics was me the whole time.

L AH

Mason Quinn being right with all of his assumptions in a movie is the redemption arc I’ve always been waiting for 😩😩 Now watching it a second time, I got to appreciate the movie more. I actually didn’t like it the first time around but now I get it.

Kaitlyn Twix

This reaction was so so fun! I loved seeing Answer try to hold back from singing along! 🤣

Katrina Hagedorn

Would love to see a reaction to The Wizard of Oz sometime before Act 2 since it’s been so long since y’all have seen it!

Seth Aasland

Elphaba’s broom was putting the Nimbus 2000 to shame with how fast she was going 😂 also, just like how it is on Broadway, my favorite part of Defying Gravity is when Elphaba’s cape becomes astronomically larger

Amber Walker

Wait what note did Dave write in the beginning and then answer pointed to when boq came on lmao

Maddie Loftus

Mason Quinn's hatred of Galinda is giving me LIFE wow

Maggie

"No he's trying to cover because he saw Galinda kissing Pontiac over there" Is my probably my favorite Mason Quinn quote

Anya
>>160251859

So heartbreaking💔 Peep the book she reads as a child. Emerald city & The Wizard was her hope. 🎶The Wizard & I🎶 song had crazy foreshadowing & truth but not in the way she thinks. 😟

Anya
>>160252003

Yes! That's what makes this story "tragically beautiful" 💚🩷

Hannah 👩‍🏫

As a musical lover, I'd give anything for them to watch some more stage musicals, like how they did Hamilton.

Hannah 👩‍🏫
>>160347981

Musicals like the 1999 version of Oklahoma! with Hugh Jackman playing Curly and the 25th Anniversary edition of Phantom of the Opera with Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess. I watch both of those on YouTube Movies all the time 😭

Anthony Velasquez
>>160347981

I have been lobbying for awhile for them to watch the stage version of Newsies which is on Disney+ more so over the movie because I think the stage version is way better

Amber Walker
>>160328252

Yeah that’s what I was thinking maybe “homewrecker” or something like it 😅

Alinta_Energy

No spoilers here but some fun facts for the 4 of you. - Cynthia wore micro braids to honour black women in theatre - the movie has been in production for the last almost two decades - a lot of the sets are practical, they built most of it. - Cynthia and Ariana both sang live and performed their own stunts. - People did complain about the slippers not being red as appearing in the Wizard of Oz, but in the original story they are silver. - All the songs in Part 1 are songs from the stage production. However, they announced there will be original songs introduced for Part 2. - There are several call backs and Easter eggs to the original film. The poppies putting the class to sleep, the rainbow in the opening shot, the bikes with the baskets rescuing the cub, the B&W universal opening. It’s nice that people are now understanding the theatre kids and the love we have for this musical after so many years waiting for this adaption. Great reaction gents.

Bedinor
>>160415904

It wasn't in production for anything close to two decades. Few years at most. Lots of CGI a few feet outside of where main actor and choreography crew are.

Alinta_Energy
>>160415904

Oh so sorry love, you’re right! It was only 13 years ago that the adaption was announced. Yep, a lot of CGI in addition to practical sets. Thanks for the help 😙

Bedinor

Seeing Wicked on Broadway will never compare to listening to the music and the movie, its an absolute experience. The girl that plays Elphabas sister is actually from Wisconsin, (and actually is disabled)

M K7001
>>160415904

yeah speaking of easter eggs I never noticed the line where she tells feyero to get stuffed until this rewatch lol

Phillip Grischa
>>160415904

It was in development for years. Work done before filming is pre-production (writing, making costumes, building sets etc) Filming is production Work after filming is post-production (editing, visual effects etc.)

Maddie Loftus

I just wanted to mention that the growing cape at the end was sort of an homage to the Broadway show. A comically long, large, black cape is part of the set design the show uses to make it appear as though the actress is flying in a stage setting.

Lani Meneses

someone said that "The Wizard of Oz" movie is the propoganda piece and "Wicked" is the documentary LOL - SO TRUE! Loved the reaction you guys! This was my favorite movie of the year :)

LilithCain

Why doesn't it bother anyone that the Animals can talk? Well, actually...

elena

Galinda may be VERY dislikeable but she was so entertaining to me, I was skeptical about the casting because I don't like it when a famous pop star is casted in movies instead of """real""" actors but Ariana Grande proved me wrong, she killed it in every scene!! And Cynthia Erivo, oh my god, what a voice, I didn't know who she was before this movie and she really surprised me. Both of these women did a great job.

Paige Royales

I paid the subscription JUST for this😅🤣🤣

LilithCain

The original Wizard of Oz book actually featured silver slippers. So the red shoes you see are an homage to the Wizard of Oz movie, but the shoes you should be watching are the ones given to Nessarose.

elena
>>160617106

I’ve seen her on Nickelodeon but that was it, considering these shows are not exactly known for their great acting roles, it wasn’t enough for me to have faith in her. I knew she was going to kill it with her singing (and the looks) but I was still a bit skeptical. Thankfully I was proved wrong because she was my favorite part of the movie

Roxanne LIL CRIP Kemmerer
>>160287161

Imo it is the superior musical to movie adaptation. I go to the theater a lot and have seen many shows. But the ones like Chicago and Les Mis that I think are improved by the movie (due to the actors impo) are the ones that bring out all the big feels. I was a big fan of Wicked and Moulin Rouge on stage, but not nearly as much by the movie, personal opinion of course. So I'm all about rewatching Les Mis with the fellas 👍🏻 YES PLEASE!

Seems to me Glinda is a hostage in this situacion…

I’ve been putting off watching this reaction because the musical and movie are so close to my heart… but I think I’ve seen the movie enough times not to be upset if anyone doesn’t absolutely love it on the panel here so… here we go 😅😅😅

Oof, I’m an idiot that claps (not for this one cause I didn’t see it in the theater, but I did when Hairspray was in theaters👀😅)

I agree with DD that the songs overall were not really doing it for me, which is a pity for a musical lol, but the visuals, humour, acting and story are very enjoyable. It felt deja vu but it's not the movie's fault, I'm only now realizing that the series Once Upon A Time just totally ripped off the musical for one of their seasons (around 8 or 10 years back) 😳

It was shelved until 2021. At that point the script was rewrote and casting and stuff was done.

Yes this!! Also the fact that Galinda’s social influence makes her more valuable if she stays and plays nice with the corrupt government. If she left with Elphaba she’d be giving up the one strength she has to help Elphie.

I saw this musical on stage around 2009 and really liked it. I very much enjoyed watching it in the movie theater in November and didn’t know it was a part 1 until I saw the title screen in the theater which surprised me since it was a 3 hour stage musical. I enjoyed watching your reactions.

When I think about it, that makes sense. She's nowhere near Elphaba's power level. If she ran away with her, she'd constantly need Elphaba's protection. She's definitely more helpful on the inside.

Are the other movies on the list as well? The OG wizard of Oz,and 2013's "Oz:The Great and Powerful"?

You guys misunderstood some fundamentals of Galindas character so much it kills me 😭

Before Part 2 you *must* see “The Wizard of Oz”. Because the next part slips right into the timeline of the original story. You won’t really appreciate it without knowing those details.

wish i had known about the format before i joined. damn

What do you mean? Because there is no picture in picture? When they upload something there is the uncut PIP version up for 48 hours (with some exceptions)

i meannnnnnnnnn she is litterally the worst. Shes like a christian who only does things for others because it makes herself feel good. If anythign you almost respect bad people more because you know exactly who they are.

Maisie

Would it be possible to put the uncut back up for just a day? Please?

In regards to the Wizard of Oz, in the Wicked Witch of the West's defense in wanting to kill Dorothy and Toto, the 2 of them rode into Oz in the very house that shushed her sister to death, so... Nessarose is an absolutely garbage sister and horrible person but that does not mean she deserves to be led on by Boq. I think you guys are the first reactors I have seen who understood that Boq's lies and settling with Nessa who really likes him, is cruel, not sweet! To me Galinda/Glinda will always be the villain (well, the overarching villain of Oz, though it is the Wizzard and Morrible who are the main villains of Wicked part 1). The only semi redeeming quality of Galinda/Glinda is her "friendship" with Elphaba, which has been 100% transactional from the beginning when Galinda cleaned up the mess of her own cruel prank at the Ozdust ballroom, and not even out of genuine kindness or remorse but only after finding out Elphaba handed her the one thing she wanted most, to learn sorcery from Madame Morrible! Elphaba, who has never had a friend before, believed Galinda's gifts and "friendship" were truly genuine. Then, once they got to the Emerald city and saw haw corrupt and evil both the wizard and Morrible were, Glinda gaslights and abandons Elphaba to side with the fascists immediately after they publicly insult and vilify Elphaba. So Galinda gets no kudos from me for her actions at the Ozdust, nor does Glinda get the benefit of the doubt in the Emerald City Glinda because she never planned to leave with Elphaba, that was clear in her expression before she called away to grab the cloak.
