Not a spoiler. In one of the previous episodes, there was an after credit scene where it showed that Winry actually forgot to install one tiny screw on Ed's shoulder so it really wasn't about the metal that was used. Kimbley was also introduced in episode 1 but he was there for just one scene.

You have to remember that Al is only 14, he is a child and easily impressionable. Unlike Ed, Al is very trusting and takes things at face value until later in the show as more and more happens. He has also lost his memory of what happened after his body was taken so that probably has a foot hold in why he is questioning his existence. I think because there are mature themes in this show that viewers always forget that Ed and Al are children dealing with the war and consequences of an adult world. They have been through hell but it’s episodes like this that really shows their innocence to adult cruelty. The same with the Nina episode.

Yes I agree. For a second I was a little bit sad that Al was so easily swayed to become mistrusting of his brother, but he's so intelligent it's hard to remind yourself he is 14 and very much easily swayed by what people tell him

Promised neverland is another great anime with mature themes and in depth plotline. Its only 12 episodes too
