I just saw the scene where Max says she knows a good lawyer and she's trying to scare Steve. I'm not gonna say what I thought because out of context it sounds kinda creepy but .. I've always thought that Max looks and acts a LOT like Hailey from The Wizard (same red hair, same snarky attitude). If you've seen that movie you know what I'm talking about in a certain scene where Hailey tells security something to get away from the guy that is chasing Jimmy. If you haven't seen it, you should watch it.

Bro the best episode in this season that i remember the most, mason quinn face and the panic in his eyes when max was thinking of those memories with her friends and lucas and running up that hill to get back to them. The line that Max said “im still here” fuck that is real.

Been refreshing all day 😂

THE BEST EPISODE OF THE SERIES. THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED THIS I WAS FROZEN IN PLACE. I THINK I WATCHED THE ENTIRE EPISODE STANDING UP

Anthony Velasquez

This episode was stressful when I watched it yrs ago I really thought Max was done they definitely had me convinced when she was remembering her memories with her friends glad she survived here she is one my favorite characters in the show

I'm Batman

Oak being perplexed on Mason Quinn not retaining a lot of plot points this season is kinda funny but to be fair every person doesn't hold memories at the same capacity as others, especially when binging the entire series in 1 go years ago. I can tell y'all, as a young adult I was abusing Coricidin heavily and it left an impact on my short term memory due to my brain expanding and bleeding whenever I popped a dozen of them to trip, it's even so bad that there's times I forget to breathe. And this has been going on for 17 years for me. But yeah just wanted to state people vary on how well they can retain memories. Anyways great reaction guys, looking forward to the next.

Max floating is my favorite and only memory of binging this show months ago when you said you were gonna watch it. Sickkk episode

Yes! One of the most memorable (sorry MQ 😄) episodes of this amazing show. 👏🏻👏🏻

God, this episode. I was not prepared at all. Not to sound too dramatic but...I've been Max. The non-Hawkins version. This is the best depiction of suicidality I've ever seen. Everything--the letters, the isolation, the flat affect, the fake smiles, the feeling you're running through mud for a million miles just for the faintest hope that you might live through it, even though you don't know if you can, or even if you want to. To anyone else who's lived or is living hand-in-hand with the Mind Flayer, I hope you're all doing well and that you have people you can run up the hill towards.

One of two episodes I've been waiting for you guys to get to since you started this series, and my second favorite episode of the series. I love the way Venca has the power to make the floating objects fall from the sky, turning them into obstacles that get in Max's way of reaching the portal. In so many movies, the villain moves slowly when chasing after the intended victim or target, and it makes the scene feel contrived. But in this case, it makes sense that he doesn't run after her. He doesn't have to with that power, and it makes for a great sequence, with a logical reason why she might not be able to make it in time. The whole last 15 minutes is next level, extremely well done. Not to mention, everyone crushed it in this episode. Including Dacre Montogary (Billy). His voice acting is fantastic, along with the legendary Robert Englund. I also like the way Max's guilt is shown in this episode, along with the possibility that she may have wanted Billy dead, as he suggests. That's one of the many insidious aspects of abuse. When it's really bad, sometimes it feels like the abuser's death is the only escape, so even the kindest person may wish they would die so the terror would end. I don't see that aspect played out very often, probably because it's something most show-writers shy away from for fear of making a character unlikable. And when I do see that kind of thought process represented, it's often not handled well. Here, Max's emotions, guilt and fears are on full display, all without feeling overdone, hammy, or downplayed. Damn, this episode is good. What a great reaction. Really enjoyed watching this masterpiece of an episode for Answer's first time. Now for the long wait until the season finale....

One important thing in the end of the episode is that, even though, Max needed her friends to get out the hole she was in. In the end, it is she that had to give the steps. The scene of her running to the tunnel of light is basically that. The people who cares about you can be your beacon of light, but there is nothing they can do if you don't move first towards it.

The best episode of the series! I honestly jumped ship with s2 because I was bored with it. So I never cared about the show afterwards....and then the "Running Up That Hill" scene was EVERYWHERE. After seeing it like 20 times, I wanted to watch the episode. I watched only this episode and Vecna plus that scene, made me rewatch the show. I was so scared we lost Max this episode and was so upset. Especially with the black-screen fake out, because the clips of that scene posted, ended with the black screen and I wanted to know if she lived! I don't care what anyone says, I think that scene is cinematic history. I'm going to call it and say MQ has never seen this season. If nothing is ringing a bell, I think this is a first time watch. He probably saw the same scene I did posted everywhere.

The moment we've all been waiting for!!!!!

I love what they did with the music. (A) It gives them an excuse to have some rocking music happen in the scene without taking anyone out of the moment, and (B) it gives another layer to how Will was able to survive during Season 1. The entire time, he was singing The Clash to himself. I have my suspicions about other explanations for how he survived so long without getting caught, but I strongly believe that him singing to himself, especially a song that reminded him of his brother, was instrumental.

Man I’m so excited! I’m so itching for you to finish the season I absolutely love this show

Eric Wallace

The Running up the Hill Scene is maybe one the greatest scene on television in the last 25 years. The entire sequence is just so phenomenal. Literally the last 20 minutes are perfect. I'm so excited I didn't have to take a drink for that scene. I saw Quinn turn to Oak

Sharpgirl

I think Mason Quinn only had the Season 4 title page up and never actually hit "play". Xoxoxoxo I only tease those I love.

Ginger

I can’t wait to see Answer’s reactions with the reveals that are yet to come this season. This episode is my absolute favorite in this entire series.

Joakim Karlsson

Victor is played by Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) :D

What Oak says at the end perfectly sums up what I took from this perfect episode ❤️ No matter how many times I watch this episode, I still cry. During my first watch, I was sobbing by the end. An absolute wreck of hyperventilating sobbing. I remember when I first saw it, I had to take a long moment for myself.. when this season came out, I wasn’t in a good state of mind. This episode aired about a year after my older brother passed away. I didn’t really think I would understand Max the way I did, so at the end when she’s facing Vecna, and he’s saying all of her darkest thoughts out loud, what was said to Max resonated very much with what my own thoughts were at the time. Then, when you think it’s over and she’s about to loose, Kate Bush starts playing and she starts thinking back to all the good times, all her people who’ve been with her through everything, and just thinking about them gave her the strength to fight, so she fights and she runs for her life. Then at the end when she’s back and she’s saying “I’m still here”.. I didn’t expect to feel SO overwhelmed. It truly was a fight for survival, not just physically but mentally. This episode is one of my top 3 favorite Stranger Things episodes of all time. 5 stars across the board ✨

Maybe Quinn watched a show that sounded like Stranger Things. Bizarre he can't remember HUGE plots.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

It's usually the other way around. I don't mind if they say they've seen it but don't remember it. I don't like it when reactors on YouTube say they haven't seen it, but have. Which happens sometimes.
