If there was a machine to remove a movie from memory.. this be it 😭.. interested to see what you all think, but man was this a disappointment..

Anthony Velasquez

Very divisive movie seen alot liked it and alot hated this installment I fall on the side of not liking this movie I do agree with Oak the end of this film with Jack O’ Connell character and his group being kinda dumb it felt really cheesy and didnt feel it fit into the movie you just watched I would give this movie a 2 out of 5

Nemo-the-Red

Love this movie, hope you enjoyed it.

Sinno

I heard the next movie is gonna be CRAZY

Diablos Cafe

1.5 is crazy🤣 I would give it a 3/5 though

Halima

is this the one with the Jimmy saville reference at the end?

Money-Kate Olsen

I'm with Oak, tbh. Comparing it to the first two, and especially Days, it was kind of all over the place. Felt like two different movies mashed into one, with the first part being the superior one. Also, the blonde ninjas at the end made me roll my eyes when I saw it months ago. Hopefully, Bone Temple is better, but I'm not holding out hope.

Esmi

Knowing this is already a divisive film, I went straight to their scores 😅 . Interesting 🤔, now I’ll have to watch it myself and see how I feel. Thanks for completing the series up to this point. 🙌

Amanda P

Okay now it's time for Warm Bodies which is a zombie romcom of sorts 😆 one of my fave movies

Dee

Okay Samson👌🏾🤣🤣. I enjoyed this up until Spike left with his mom and then he just pmo the rest of the movie. He got so lucky so many times. Just reckless behavior lol.

Rob OnlyRoss

Please try give Dog Soldiers a watch it has that similar grainy visual like 28 days later also Dog Soliders came out around 2002 and still better than this film 🙏

I think Oak's view of the armies and governments of the world's a little more optimistic than mine. I think the idea that foreign armies would go to considerable lengths just to save survivors, and not for resources or some other reason, seems less plausible to me. We saw how callous they were in 28 weeks later. We've seen the same in real life, how callous governments are, and happy to dish out massive attacks on populations, domestic or otherwise, or turn a blind eye when other countries do. I think they'd just leave what was the UK alone, most likely. At least for several decades, and maybe monitor from afar. But the idea that they'd care enough about a small population on an island, just off the coast of Britain, to go rescue them? I doubt it. Anyway, I am on the side of loving this movie. Probably the best film of the year, at least so far. 5/5 for me. Granted, it was quite different to the first two, but I also enjoyed it more than those.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

I think the reason why the last bit might have felt rushed, was because they had to get young Isla back to the island, for milk. Hanging around the temple would have delayed getting her to people who could raise her properly. Dr Kalson said she couldn't rely on water for long.

Knightmare

Um.... what was that? I loved it LOL 😂 The only way they could've improved it is by stopping the first act at adult Jimmy's introduction and doing another 1 hour and 40 minutes of Jimmy mainland plot and then a extra 20 minutes of Spike and his dad reuniting on the island

I didn't think it would be possible to top 28 Days later for me but this does it. It's so much more than just a zombie film, it functions as an allegory for post-Brexit Britain and the dissolution of empire, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character embodying the nation's tendency toward historical mythmaking and exaggerated self-importance. The central coming of age arc, where Spike witnesses his father's lies and moral compromises, mirrors the disillusionment of confronting Britain's true imperial history beyond sanitised British textbooks. On top of this, the quarantine from mainland Europe, which continues thriving while Britain deteriorates without doctors, evokes the NHS crisis and post-Brexit isolation. This allegory cuts both ways: the islanders' fearful rhetoric about "strange people on the mainland" reflects the very insularity and xenophobia that drove Brexit in the first place, suggesting that Britain's decay stems not just from abandonment but from its own retreat into myth and suspicion.

Ste Rawlings

As for Oak being baffled that the rest of the world wouldn't help out. My guy the world has been watching a genocide in 4K on the news for the last 2 years and nobody has done a fucking thing about it.

28 dongs later is all I remember about this movie

Personally I disagree that the Alpha's seem too fantastical compared to the other films. They're infected with a virus, and all viruses want to do is spread and survive, and they mutate and create varieties in order to keep surviving. It makes sense that it would seek out big, strong hosts and it could be a certain variety of the virus that makes them stronger and has less impact on their mind, so they seem smarter and able to become leaders. Even implies that the Alpha still have instincts to reproduce and recognise the mother and child as his. I don't think they literally mean that the virus made the Alphas bigger, as Spike compared it to steroids based on his dads words, who probably only has a vague understanding of steroids himself, since he would have been a child during the outbreak. There are also a couple of shots of both alphas that show parts of their skin is thicker and hardened, so I can imagine that could be why it takes more to kill them. TBF this is my first rewatch and I actually like it a lot more this time, as it makes a lot more sense upon rewatching, including the ending. The quite jarring tone change reflects that Spike has never met anyone like this group before. The end fight makes sense when you think about how Jimmy was a kid and only survivor , who probably dealt with it by making it a game and finding other kids to 'play with'. Why the older Jimmy has been clearly designed to look like Jimmy Saville, and the others like power rangers. To kids like Spike, it makes them look fun and cool which is probably something he's not really experienced before. Spike also now has a reason to distrust his dad saying that people on the mainland are strange, since the doctor was not what his dad said he would be, so more likely to trust them even when he shouldn't.

Kyle

Cant really wonder why the world and military doesnt help the first outbreak luckily was contained too the UK then they tried to rbuld only for the virus to come back and reach paris and europe that the world had to fight back just to get it back to the UK only again..... maybe third times the charm lol

Ron

yes! 28 inches later

I thought this was a mess tbh. I just didn’t care about what happened to any of the characters by the end. Nowhere near as good as the first two. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fajar Kurniawan

I like the first part of the movie, I was hoping we got the cliche 'adult and child' adventure, old and young duo, the experience teach the inexperience. like in The Last of Us, Logan, God of War, etc. but yeah, in the end we got Power Rangers, nothing to complain? I guess?

Fajar Kurniawan

I have to come back here after seeing Oak's score 🤣🤣🤣 I will give 2/5

Hey this isn't the first time a baby was born from an infected Oak. No spoilers for other shows but IYKYK. Oak is starting to realize how much these movies suck. 😂 JP. They don't suck. They are enjoyable, they just don't connect with each other which is probably perfect for some. But I totally agree with Oak, but all 3 movies have these problems. Their rebuttal to Oak "They evolved" is exactly what's wrong with these movies... They evolved? When? Just out of no where? How? Oh well we have no idea, coz that's how these movies are. And they don't provide context clues either. They give you nothing. In everything else you see it happen. In these movies they throw you into a situation and they never explain anything. You don't get any context clues either like movies where it's not handed to you. The only context clue we got was the alpha's massive schlong which explains how the one female infected got pregnant. LOL And something as massive as their evolution and hierarchy would be great to explore but the just make it like the last two films where you get no explanation, things just happen and the movie is over. PS: The upside down cross is the cross of St. Peter. He requested to be crucified upside down because he was not worth of being crucified in the same manner as Jesus.

I absolutely hated the movie. I went to the cinema with 3 of my friends and we all were sitting there like "WTF"? There was so much going on that made no sense at all but the stupid power ranger ninjas in the end was the point were we lost it and laughed out loud in the cinema, not because it was so funny but because it was so effing bad and out of place. And what were some of these dialogue/script choices? "I'm Spike, this is my Mom and that's a baby" Really? The thing you're holding in your arms right in front of me is a baby? Never would have guest. Right now that's the only thing that came to mind because it was so bad but that wasn't the only instance were me and my friends looked at each other and were like "yeah... this is effing bad" That's the reason I only skipped through the reaction for you guys and took a look at your ratings and stand with Oak on this one. I couldn't watch this BS again. But I'll always be here for your reactions folks! Cheers

In all fairness, I loved this in theaters, but the people in front of me exclaimed "WTF did we just watch?" at the end. So mixed all around. On rewatch, I really enjoyed watching Spike accepting his mother's fatal condition. He knew there was something wrong, and everyone he knew was tiptoeing around that his mom was going to die. He even said to his dad "I think she's going to die" and his dad wouldn't agree. And his mom had already considered brain/breast cancer, but said she needed someone else to tell him. As for the "rush"...it took around 2 days/1 night for Spike to reach Dr. Kelson, which means it likely would take the same amount of time to get back to the village. The baby could only live for a few days without milk. An extra day with mom would have been too close of a call for the baby. The rule of the village is to not send people out into the infected area to save people. It appears the same is true for the militaries of the world. They're not sending troops out to save those in the quarantine zone, because it only feeds the infected or creates more of them. (LMAO at the castle argument btw.) And then finally, yes, the Power Ranger/Teletubbies were a hell of a way to finish. It does ever so slightly help that there was always a sequel planned. The trailer is already out. Spike 100% becomes a Jimmy.

Artem Dmytrenko

Yeah, the shift from realistic to spiritual and fantasy-like is really eye-catching.

DA Rodriguez

A big theme I took away from the movie is the longing for the past! Each of the characters besides Spike drop tid-bits about longing for the past and where time froze (aka when the virus took over. Mom misses her dad which you can assume he passed long ago, dad thinking of the frisbee, jimmy is very stuck in the late 90s, even the doctor about remembering love.) Their life is frozen and they are longing for life before!

Apollo

I liked this one a lot more than the second one. I feel like the second one is the odd one of the movies, and that this one retcons a lot of the second film. For example, the second one introduces the idea of the infected starving themselves and dying off, and them invading mainland Europe at the end. This movie completely writes off those ideas and I think is much more in line with the first movie. If you go from 28 Days to this one I feel like the world is more consistent.

Sam

I thought this one was pretty poor to be honest. I think back to how impactful gleesons blood in eye scene was and then this one drops the utter turd idea of Jimmy parkour scene. And a nod to Jimmy Saville, one of the most evil human beings from uk. Thought that to be pretty vile to represent tbh, as it’s such a recent thing with victims still living. Really enjoyed first two but this one was awful imo

Pop n Lock

I fuck with this movie hard lol. I dont get when people just want the same boring adult caring for a child in a wasteland story. Im sick of that and this movie gave us something NEW.

Atrocious review by Oak....
