Well this just as disturbing as the 1st episode this show is so good

Anthony Velasquez

No the parents were not aware of PennyWise taking kids to answer MQ question

Money-Kate Olsen

If that ending excavation scene was what I think it is, it's definitely something from the book. Won't spoil it, but it might not get revealed until another season. We'll see.

I’m curious what episode we’ll see It in its Pennywise form. I’m betting it’ll be episode 3, maybe 4.

Not Oak telling DD to calm the fuck down in the intro 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bryan

these past 2 episodes have been 🔥🔥 also quick fun fact since the Bowers stuff was mentioned… Will Hanlon (the majors kid) is the father of Mike Hanlon (1 of the main kids from the IT movies)

Bryan

we might of seen a tease of it during the intro

A small detail I really like is since Ronnie’s mom died while giving birth to her, Pennywise used the guilt she feels against her. It will use anything, any trauma, against you. (He’d have a field day with me 🤣) Also, the only picture we see of her mom is on her bedside table and is her mom in a wedding dress and veil. Because this might be the only picture she has of her mom (or one of the few) that’s who she sees during that sequence.

Drew

Did they know that’s dick from the shinning?

There's a few Easter Eggs in this episode, like the cop (Clint Bowers) is the main bully's grandfather, in the IT movies. And the black army guy who got his compatriots back on the campus, was Dick Halloran from the Shining, the man who had psychic abilities. I also think they're setting up Lily's dad up for next season. The sheriff hinted at her dad being messed up, I'm suspecting it's trauma from whatever's coming in next season, which will be set in the 1930s.

The thing to remember about Derry is that the whole town was built on top of an evil entity. Basically, Pennywise is the foundation that the town was built on. It landed in what will become North America, millions of years before humans evolved. Which explains why the adults tend to turn a blind eye to cruelty and violence, or they're creeps like Beverly's father, and the pharmacist, in the movies. They don't usually see the supernatural, but they are under its effects.

Anthony Velasquez

Im thinking probably towards the end of the show

Anthony Velasquez

Another easter egg that you might have not caught is Teddy Uris one of the kids who died in the 1st episode is the uncle of Stanley Uris who was one of the kids part of the loser’s club in the movies

Anthony Velasquez

Probably not its definitely easy to miss because I didnt even put that together until I seen people in various comment sections say that he is literally that character from The Shining

Laura Murray

That's one of the things I love most in the book, is the worldbuilding, lore and history. And how Derry itself is a character. It is Pennywise. I like that this series is showing that more, and the ways IT scares and isolates the children. The movies making it seem like the clown is his default form, doesn't do IT justice.

Anthony Velasquez

They aren’t the parents/adults have no idea of a cosmic entity infesting the town of Derry honestly the 1st time we hear about any adult knowing anything is in this episode via the military even then they dont fully comprehend what Pennywise is and even if they do military can easily cover this stuff up always go back to the 1st movie Mike says his grandfather thinks the town is cursed doesn’t mention anything about a monster who feeds on children plus MQ based his theory on what he thought of something that he remembered from the latest movies I recently seen both movies and the adults/parents are definitely not in on knowing Pennywise exist much less taking children

Anthony Velasquez

It definitely was exactly what you were thinking I agree probably wont see it until next season unless they do a flashback type of thing though I hope they dont given we are only gettting 8 episodes rather they focus on the present the show is focused on

Alanna Meyers 🍌

Oooooh, interesting. I’m selfishly hoping we don’t have to wait that long haha

Knightmare

This is random, but I find it really endearing that the whole crew and (not just DD) actually bother to read and respond to comments between episodes. It really does add a certain sense of intentional community to the whole thing. Really sets you guys apart that you do more than just ask what we want to watch. :)

Diablos Cafe

Reminder that the chief last name is Bowers😅 (the main bully from the IT movies) so it makes sense why that lineage is so horrible 🤣

Diablos Cafe

The chief is also related to the bully Henry Bowers from the main movies

ElmSt Reactions

Another good episode, I hope the racist stuff is part of the actual plot and not just agenda pushing or maybe just the time

Knightmare

I mean it's just common sense that it's part of the plot. IT feeds on fear. If anything, it should be way worse, like the opening of IT Chapter 2 LOL

ElmSt Reactions

Yeah I get that, but thats why I want it in the plot but I get the time frame aswell. Just got burnt out with shows I liked, constantly agenda pushing, main one being SWAT

Katie

It takes place in the 60s so
