The first hunger games movie was the 74th. Catching fire is the 3rd quarter quell so the 75th. Ballad of song birds and snakes is the 11th. Sunrise on the reaping is Haymitch's games. 2nd quarter quell 50th games. Also that is Mckenna Grace not Maddie Phillips although they look very similar here!

I didn’t watch the last one but I 100% will watch this one, and yes MQ this is from the books it had came out this year. This is the most gruesome & emotional Hunger Games you’ll see.

Was wanting a sequel from the author instead of another prequel, but the book ended up being pretty good, so I think I'll go see this in theaters. Also, Oak - it's pronounced "RAYF" like "SAFE"

since everything pretty much concluded for katnisses story, what kinda story were you wanting from a sequel? im not really sure what else they could do

Not necessarily anything to do with Katniss but something in that universe or related. It's just difficult for me to be interested in multiple prequels since we already know what happens.

The official hunger games account on tiktok did special actor reveals after the book came out at the beginning of this year. The cast just kept getting better and better and personally I think pretty accurate to the book!

As someone who has always been a huge fan of the books, I think this movie has the potential to be the most book accurate which is super exciting considering all the changes made when adapting the original trilogy to film. The cast is absolutely stacked so I can't wait to see what teasers we get next. Just a few things for context: Every 25 years, a quarter quell is done with a new rule to "keep things fresh" for every new generation. This story takes place during the 50th hunger games, the second quarter quell (where double the amount of tributes are chosen) which is Haymitch's story. The original trilogy gave us the 74th and 75th games (the third quarter quell where the tributes were chosen from the existing pool of victors). The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes gave us president Snows origin story during the 10th hunger games. This series is so special considering its relevancy to our current day issues, which Suzanne Collins used as motivation when writing each book. I can't wait!

We know what happens but it’s only half the truth, like Katniss we believe it what is shown to us but the capitol covered the real truth up .Can’t really talk spoilers but all those “ new” characters we didnt even know existed .Suzanne says she only writes when she has something to say.

The 25th, 50th and 75th Hunger Games are called Quarter Quells.. each one was considered a special games where they were uniquely rigged differently than the other games. In the books it’s said The Capitol claimed the twists for each Quarter Quell were planned decades in advance with instructions for "centuries of Hunger Games". But I think we all know the 75th was rigged especially by Snow to kill Katniss. Anyways Katniss was in the 74th and 75th Hunger Games. The 75th was rigged to pull Katniss back in by reaping from the pool of existing victors. The 50th games was Haymitch’s games and they were rigged so that twice as many tributes were selected. So now there are 50 tributes instead of 25. Brace yourselves guys.. Haymitch’s story is a doozy 🥲 Snow is the worst. Also a new arena is chosen/built for every games and are very unique and deadly in different ways.h

Book reader here and no spoilers but this teaser looks FANTASTIC! The arena *is*supposed to like lovely and paradise like but it's most certainly not. I'm super excited for this one! This franchise has had some very decent book to movie adaptations imo.

This looks really good! The book was chilling. I think the casting is mostly good but skews a little too old. A big part of the horror is that these are all children. Not that it isn’t horrific anyway, but it’s a bit distracting. Kinda surprised how many potential spoilers they included though.

I’ve been a fan of the books for a long time. I loved the book, but my heart cannot handle a 2nd read. From what I see in the teaser trailer, it looks like they’re following the book heavily for this movie. Hopefully ! In the original trilogy, they don’t give a ton of details from Haymitch’s games. So finding out the truth about past games, makes you want to go back to the original trilogy and see it with new information in mind. I’m way too excited for more hunger games content. Ps. fuck the capitol 🫶🏻

I'm so pissed they showed us the trailer now when we have to wait an entire year for it! That said, I told my mom make plans because we're seeing this in theaters, IMAX if possible!

That’s usually the norm for trailers. This is a teaser trailer, so it gives that hype. We’ll definitely get a full trailer early next year!

The arena and the games themselves were filmed in Spain, very close to where I’m from so I had the privilege to go there and visit and I must say, the arena is suuuuper small. 48 tributes in such a small space, they are packed like sardines

It was so interesting to watch your reactions with you having no context of the books or even whose games these were! I'm glad Oak picked up on it at the end! I still haven't read the prequels, but I'm looking forward to the movie

I heard Suzanne Collins went extremely hard on haymitch during his games. that was like one of the top things that people said when the book first came out, how everyone felt horrible for haymitch.
