The Mugen Train movie is a much better experience than watching it episodically. The ideal way to watch the arcs is to watch Season 1, then watch Episode 1 of Season 2, then watch the Mugen Train movie, and then skip to Episode 8 of Season 2 (which originally was episode 1). This is the way most people watched it when it first aired. Splitting the movie into episodes makes it a worse experience, because that's not how it was originally intended to be viewed.

I know you guys want to watch the movie through episodes but I highly recommend watching the movie then jumping into season 2 episode 8. The episode does a quick recap of the end of the movie and pushes straight into the next arc. Watching the movie through episodes will mean you'll be losing alot of the momentum the movie builds up with ad breaks and the episodes cutting scenes short. I just hope you'll reconsider on that front. All the best!

I felt the same way about Zenitsu at this point. If he had of a been torn apart by demons in either of these episodes, I would have celebrated wildly 😂

I really recommend against watching the sub in future anime. In a fast paced show like demon slayer, you very often have to choose between watching the scene and watching the subtitles. This makes it very easy to miss things. This is even more true for reactors who are often taking notes as they watch. You can't read subtitles while writing. Anyone who wishes to watch along with subtitles can do so.

I agree with others that the “Mugen Train” eps should be watched as the movie. Separated you just lose the momentum & tension of the whole movie, imo. Only Episode 1 of those episodes is a bit of a lead up to the actual movie and that can/should be watched on its own as it gives more detail & lore to characters.

Just to echo what others have said, I really think you guys should watch Mugen Train as a film as it was created. Mugen Train was a theatrical film just like the most recent Demon Slayer film. It was only split up later for television and it is by far the more inferior way to watch. You should watch episode 1 of season 2 which is separate from the film and then just watch the film. This is what you'll find that most other reactors have done over the years.

aw I was holding out even just a tiny bit of hope on yall liking zenitsu considering how you've enjoyed the show's comedy so far, granted that zenitsu is dialed up the highest extremes so its understandable but oh well lol as someone who liked zenitsu from the start and is my fave character he's just a fun silly guy

i would definitely recommend watching Season 2 Ep 1 and then watching the Mugen Train movie instead of as separate episodes. the movie really maintains good momentum for that entire arc and includes moments that get lost in the episodes. it's just a better watching experience overall, so I really hope you consider it. ALSO, i was very much not a Zenitsu fan when you first meet him here, but the whole point of his character over the course of the series is his transformation as he comes into his own. he's a shameless coward in the beginning that truly acts as an antithesis to Tanjiro's bravery and empathy. can't wait to see what y'all think of him down the line!

I think anime creators went a bit too far with Zenitsu. The way he is portrayed in the manga is OK and even funny sometimes because of comic format. But in the anime he is straight up annoying after first 10 seconds.

I love Zenitsu but I understand that some people dont like him when he was introduced and funny enough, those who dont like him watched it in dubbed. Japanese VA Zenitsu was not annoying like this. Or it is just me. Anyway, I know you will love him eventually. Also, please watch the Mugen Train movie and not season 2 as how its supposed to be. It was a Theatrical release made into a few episodes afterwards.

First, to answer Oak's question about the scar, we can't really tell you too much about it cause it's going to be a spoiler but don't worry you're not going crazy, his scar does change haha. Second, as much as it's nice that you guys will watch Season 2 Mugen Train per episode I suggest to watch the Movie instead cause it will lessen the time of you guys streaming. Instead of streaming whole month to watch Season 2 episode 2-7 you guys can finish everything in just one sitting. Now whether you guys watch Season 2 Episode 1 BEFORE or AFTER the Movie will be up to you guys, it really doesn't bother me anyway.

But with time you just get used to him and go, ‘okay, that’s just how he is,’ and you end up laughing 😂😂 As the episodes go on he gets a bit less annoying (just a bit lol) But yeah… that’s Zenitsu

About Season 2 (Mugen train arc) was actually made from a movie that came out in theaters. Streaming platforms split that movie into episodes, so basically the whole ‘season’ is just the movie divided into parts, except for Episode 1, which adds something extra at the beginning.... If you want to watch it the more exciting way (honestly, it hits harder), you can watch Episode 1 of the Mugen Train arc, then watch the movie, and then skip straight to Season 3, which is the Entertainment District arc. But if you prefer watching it as episodes, that’s totally fine too. It’s just that the episodes feel really short to me 😅 You should definitely watch like three episodes every Monday 😁

IMO the Mugen Train movie is a better overall watching experience but you do you. Also, yes Zenitsu takes a long time to get used to. Especially for those not accustomed to that type of anime character trope.

The only movie I would recommend watching (besides the new infinity castle ones) is Mugen Train. But if you only watch the show, you’ll still get all the information and scenes. The movie is just everything put together so there’s no interruptions, and I think it brings you into the story more

I think watching the episodes is much better because it feels more like you’re watching Demon Slayer, and less like you’re watching a standalone anime movie that happens to have Demon slayer characters in it. Why watch something that has less content than watch something that has the same content plus additional work?

love that you guys are doing this series seriously! My Mondays are better for it! Also Mugen Train I think is better to watch as a whole movie! I would watch the 1st episode of season 2 and then watch the movie as a whole. Also my most controversial opinion is I don't like Zenitsu at all. I never got use to him, I didn't particularly like him in the anime nor in the manga. I have so many thoughts on his character though and I believe he is in the story for a reason but overall I just can't with him, no matter how many times I rewatch I get the urge to skip his scenes

Agree, especially since they already made it pretty clear that they value the dubs benefit of understanding things more effectively over the subs voice acting performance. Imo you either keep watching subs to get more used and skilled in reading the subtitles or just go full on dub to stay consistent in comprehension, and not back and forth.

Someone needs to explain to me why most of you prefer the movie more than the episodes when it’s a retelling of the movie with ‘additional’ scenes and ‘expanded content’ , while the movie is a more concise and fast-paced version of it? Don’t we want our guys to have a full on detailed experience? Or am I missing something here. Don’t get me wrong I LOVED the movie and saw it when it came out but the episodes hold a bit more context to the story than the movie. IMO

Oh god, I had to skip so many times when Zenitsu was on the screen. Why does he have to annoy my guys? Like, if i was watching it by myself, I could look past it but as I watch it with them, I see it's making the guys irritated, which irritates me. 😒😂

Interestingly enough, the VA that does the Boar head dude is the same English VA that voices Eren in AoT English dub as well 🙂‍↕️. This show is great, the music is amazing and the story is equally as entertaining and at points just downright depressingly tragic. I’m so pumped for you guys as you go on this journey. It’s gonna be freaking awesome✨😭

Starting to really enjoy the series now that it's moving with secondary mains. I love how modern anime moves the plot and story so quick. Beautiful animations and the fights are so well choreographed and designed in the show. I love Zenitsu actually. He's pitiful but hilarious. I have 0 knowledge of the series past these episodes but I know that season 2 is basically an expanded version of the Mugen Train movie. I always choose the option with more content 😁

Man, I found Zenitsu a little annoying in the sub version but holy cow his crash outs in dub are so irritating!! BUT…I’m more excited now for his full glow up as I think it’ll have a crazier shock factor (coming from someone who has only seen the sub version)! I feel like we could see the guys getting irritated by him but just hang in there, it’ll be worth it soon! And for the guys - yes it was Zenitsu who killed the demon by himself and he did it while he was asleep. He has a fully different personality when he falls asleep from fear lol so when his eyes close you know it’s about to go down!

As someone who battles strong panic attacks. You reach a point during your panic where it just stops and you feel really mellow and carefree. Its like you reach too much panic for the body to handle so it just turns off. I guess Zenitsu is like that.

As long as you watch 2x1 the show vs movie isn’t super critical. Without 2x1 the impact of the second season is decreased, imho.

It’s funny because the voice actor for zenitsu dub is so good, he kills it in his other roles (and maybe does too well for zenitsu lol). He plays Jin woo in Solo Leveling, Thorfinn in Vinland saga, and more.
