I have to agree with Oak, the military stuff isn’t my favorite but I just think it’s very difficult to write an active military plot line in something like this that is more of a sci-fi/supernatural horror because the plan almost always has to be pretty stupid in order for there to be good drama. I understand what Francis is getting at and why he thinks it would work, but I had a similar issue with the ARGUS plot at the end of Peacemaker S2, even though it’s a different type of show. My thoughts were just “really? That’s your plan now?” But, like Dave said, it’s not very far fetched for our own government and leaders to do things in an effort to get people to fall in line with certain orders and ideals, even if it’s more likely to stoke the flames of chaos than it is to calm them. It doesn’t really ruin my enjoyment of the show because I think the kid plot line is fantastic and they did a great job of weaving in the adult stories with the children, but I do think the military plan is a bit of a hurdle to get over

To be fair don’t get attached to any of the characters in this show there are only a few that I know are safe due to their lore within the Stephen King Universe outside of those few characters that I know will survive this show can’t say the same about alot of the other characters Yea it sucks to lose Rich but we knew that this show doesn’t shy away from killing characters off whether they are Adults or Kids

Idk what Oak is going on about, the main story is so good, now the side story of the military isn't the best but that's how these things works, military with a dumb plan, like stranger things. But why you think the military story is the MAIN story has me confused, my only critique within the review itself. Man, I cried a good amount from this one. I was almost certain Ritchie would die (and because of his death we know why Marge would name her kid Ritchie in the movies) but I didn't know it would be this way. Loved how Pennywise got Stanley, I'm hoping he gets the rest of them racist pieces of shits. And it's probably just me but when we see Dick being surrounded by the people that just died at The Black Spot had my anxiety going insane. And I didn't mention this last episode but Lilly and that shard is giving off MAJOR Gollum and the One Ring vibes, that thing is quite literally changing her mental state and she won't let go of it and won't let anyone else touch it, quite literally Gollum and the One Ring reference right there. But yeah just like almost every episode this season this episode was my favorite, I'm so excited to see how the finale plays out.

Agree with you on what Oak said in the review the military stuff isn’t the main story its just a side story and its nothing new we see this kind of thing in so many shows/movies where the military does the dumbest stuff possible when it comes to supernatural things you brought up the perfect example Stranger Things how many times have we seen the government/military intervene in that in the dumbest ways to me you have to throw your realism to side its a show about a cosmic entity spreading terror and eating people sure the military plan makes no sense but it’s not crazy that something like this would fit in this type of show

When it came to the Lily stuff I see what your saying but I personally dont see it that way at all I think she is scared to part with the shard in any way because she knows she is protected as long as she has it and as for her looking rough she probably hasnt been sleeping because she is so stressed out thinking she cant trust anyone and the one person she thought she could truly trust(Ingrid) turn out to be just another crazy person who absolutely cant be trusted in any way

I agree re the military. It's the low point of the series for me. I like the IT story much more when it's less 'known', especially by adults. the idea that these kids are being hunted and terrified by this cosmic being, and there's no help or adults making the plot more complex (releasing Pennywise to change the national psyche etc), is more appealing to me, than the military and seemingly half the adults in Derry being part of it. It becomes more like a classic monster / invasion movie than about an evil entity.

Ingrid is the old lady that took over Beverly's old apartment in IT Chapter 2. She's not dying in this series. Unfortunately.
