I know you guys record ahead of time obviously but I hope you saw my comment last week, you should really change the subtitle options from “English cc” to “English” so you can catch the text on screen translations, it’s going to become more and more important as we go on

So Tired

I second this

EP 23 reaction 25:15 - Mason Quinn, I think you're misunderstanding what the Hashira (Rengoku, the Flame Hashira in particular) were saying. Rengoku expressed his surprise that Tanjiro, despite being relatively new to the Demon Slayer Corps (it's probably been only a few months since the Final Selections) has already encountered a Twelve Kizuki. Whereas the Hashira do not get to encounter a Twelve Kazuki that often even though they have been Slayers for much longer than Tanjiro. Remember, it was stated in this episode that the Hashira became Hashira because they have defeated at least one of the Twelve Kizuki. So it's not a matter of "no experience" fighting the Twelve...let alone the rank and file demons. The comment was made in regards to Tanjiro's supposed luck with Twelve Kizuki demon encounters relative to their own experience. And I find it very strange why you came to the conclusion that the Hashira have little experience with even just the rank and file demons...somehow just sitting around. At the beginning of the scene with the Hashira and the Master, it was clearly stated that their reports to the Master has indicated a jump in demon activity. This would likely be based on their own encounters. At the very least, we can infer the Hashira have been keeping tabs on demon activity. Plus, based on what we saw of their initial visceral reaction to Nezuko, it is very safe to assume the Hashira would not just be gathering intel on demons but also actively hunting them.

next episodes are so fire! can't wait for next week guys. hope you enjoy them as much as i do

Kollie123

Yeah I was definitely scratching my head a little when they made a few comments like they were under the impression the Hashira don’t do much work out in the field Always fun to get unique reactions like that though lol

Gianni

Are you guys doing the movie for S2???

Magda Chonillo

Just as a fun fact about anime in general: there are some expressions that might seem strange if you’re not used to watching anime (I noticed they caught you off guard), but they’re actually very common for those of us who watch a lot of anime ☺️ For example, the little blue flames that appeared around Murata usually represent deep sadness, discouragement, or feeling “emotionally drained.” And in last week’s episode, when Shinobu told Tomioka that nobody liked him and those lightning effects appeared near their faces, that normally represents an emotional impact, like something hitting you like a bolt of lightning. These are very typical visual exaggerations in anime used to show emotions or states of mind—nothing serious or with a hidden meaning 😄 And there are many more examples like this.

Elay

This is a great explanation

Rengoku is one of my fav demon slayer characters cant wait for the Mugen Train Arc

N8

Please watch Mugen Train as the movie and a two part reaction if watching it whole is a lot. Watching the 7 episodes kind of ruins it. Much more enjoyable as a whole.

Diablos Cafe

I think y’all should watch the Mugen Train movie, I watched the movie and the episodes and I like the movie better but then again that’s just me. Still great TV either way it goes

Magda Chonillo

Just a quick heads up for when you get to Season 2, which is actually the Mugen Train Arc. If you decide to watch the movie (as many people recommend), make sure you still watch Episode 1 of the Mugen Train Arc first, since that episode is completely new and wasn’t part of the movie. After that, you can watch the movie. Otherwise, you can just watch all the episodes instead. Just don’t skip that first episode if you go with the movie 😊

Badd Medicine

I think we are leaning towards the film. Episode 2x1 then the film. The to the next set of what Crunchyroll shows as a "season" Of course, I'm assuming this is correct? 😂

dimine

yess!!

YANXI

Great input!

Bob

FILM THEN EPISODE PLEASE

Tania R

Magda Ch is correct ☺️ here is the best order: Watch 2x1 first (exclusive Kyojuro Rengoku prequel, not in film). Then the film (covers 2x2 to 2x7 content). Jump to 2x8 next (start of Entertainment District Arc). Hope this helps with planning!

Maria

yes that’s correct!! Episode 2x1 then the movie. it’s important.

Crystal

I feel like yall need to realize the Hashira kill A LOT of demons lol they just haven’t seen/fought Muzan because he keeps it that way, and they haven’t run across 1 of 12 Kizuki yet. But they aren’t useless lol to become a Hashira you have to be a Kinoe (rank right under Hashira) and either kill 50 demons at that rank or 1 of the 12 Kizuki. They are always being deployed to kill demons, like how we saw with Giyu and Shinobu on the mountain

Oliviaaa

Y’all are gonna miss a killer opening theme song if you skip the episodes😭

Magda Chonillo

you're right Oliviaaa 🙁 The only thing I was thinking is that if they watch Episode 1 and then the movie, they’ll miss the Mugen Train Arc opening, which was created specifically for the TV episodes. It doesn’t appear in the movie or in Episode 1, only in the following episodes... Sooo if you guys want, you can look up the “Mugen Train Arc opening” on YouTube after Episode 1 and before watching the movie 😁😁😁 (I know, guys — it’s impossible to please everyone 😅)

JG

So since these guys upload two episodes a week, I wonder if we should expect 2×1 and Mugen Train movie the same day?

Oliviaaa

Posted this in the main chat, but I’ll put it here also; About Demon Slayer Mugen Train: I know most people are leaning toward the movie, but I wanted to share a different perspective in case it’s helpful. From a reaction standpoint, I actually think watching the Mugen Train TV episodes straight through makes more sense. The opening alone feels like something you’d really enjoy reacting to, and the added scenes helped the arc breathe more for me compared to the movie, which felt pretty rushed on rewatch. Most importantly though, since you’ve been watching Demon Slayer season-by-season, skipping almost all of season 2 (except episode 1) might be a little confusing for newer viewers who come to the channel later seeking the rest of the season. Watching the episodes wouldn’t mean missing anything from the movie (it’s the same core story) just with more context and consistency for reactions. Totally understand whichever direction you choose, just wanted to share the thought!

Tania R

It really is a fantastic intro 🥰.

Tania R

I totally hear you on leaning towards the film! I just had one final thought on the viewing order and then I promise, DD, no more! 🥳 Building on what Oliviaaa and Magda shared, the series intro actually starts with episode 2x2. If you choose the film, you'll miss that awesome intro entirely. Additionally, reacting to the episodes first might offer a more consistent path for new viewers. A jump from 2x1 to 2x8 could be confusing for them, as they’d have to be directed to watch the movie on another link before returning to the series for the next arc. The episodic order simply keeps the timeline more straightforward. Ultimately, we're happy with whatever you decide is best!! 🥳🙏❤️

Magda Chonillo

Agreed! ☺️ And I also think that whatever the guys decide, I’ll be okay with it. But I was leaning a bit more toward them watching the movie, mainly because those last episodes are really worth seeing all in one go 🔥 But honestly, now knowing they’d miss the opening, I kind of want them to watch the episodes 🥹🥹

Grant

Film is the better experience in my opinion.

Andrew

It doesn't really matter if you do Episode 2×1 or the movie first as long as you do the movie. Am I right to assume that the movie will be sticking with the dub?

Aevel

Movie vs Episodes is SO rough. Personally I like the movie better, but both sides have good points. In either case, I will be excited to see your reaction :D

bien

now i’m conflicted, i would love to see their reaction to the opening 🥲

Alise Watson

If you want to get through things quicker, I personally recommend watching the first episode of "season 2 mugen train arc" and the movie right after instead of watching the whole season of mugen train arc. Technically, that mugen train arc really doesn't count as a season in my opinion. I think the 2nd season would obviously be the Entertainment District Arc. Whatever yall choose, I'm happy to be apart of the ride 🙌🏾

privatedadbod

to answer for them to help out on Crunchyroll watch the first episode of Mugen Train Arc then the movie season "2" is just the movie cut into episodes. Everything after this movie is straight shooting. After the movie you can go directly into Entertainment District arc which is billed as Season 3 then Swordsmith Village Arc as Season 4, Hashira Training Arc as Season 5 then its just 3 movies back to back as a trilogy and Infinity Castle is the only one that has come out as of now.

Jas_chu

Pls, do the movie for the Mugen Train Arc instead of the episodes feels like the flow is much better that way💜

[ GMAN ]

I think the best way to do it is the first episode of the Mugen train arc, then the movie

[ GMAN ]

Even just watching all the episodes instead of the movie is okay as well, I'm cool with whatever direction you go!

April Perez

The Hashiras are always fighting demons, constantly traveling, training, and fighting them. They meant that they rarely come across the 12 kizuki and never come across Muzan. That is also why they are shocked and curios how quickly Tanjiro came across both Muzan and a 12 kizuki member. But yeah, they aren't waiting on the sidelines, theyre always out there.

April Perez

Agreed! I was shocked with their conclusion. Episode 1 we see Giyu on the field chasing after demon killings.

XXI

i like your theories always guys🤝🏼🤘🏼
