I’m pumped to see how this season goes. I never got around to watching Seasons 3 and 4 at the time because, during the release of Season 3, so many shows were coming out left and right that it became overwhelming. 🐻👨‍🍳🍽🔪

S3 was also my least favorite season... and I still really enjoyed it. I've said before that I don't think this show has had a bad season or even a bad episode, and I stand by that. They're all good in my opinion - but some are obviously better than others. I think the thing that frustrated a lot of people (or at least me) the most about S3 is just how incredibly stuck Carmy seemed to be from beginning to end. He's the only character who seemed to have no real growth last season, and in a lot of ways he actually regressed.

Short clips from the opening scene between Carmy and Mikey in 4x1 were indeed shown all the way back in 3x1 (Carmy backstory montage episode). They filmed almost all of S4 alongside S3, so a lot of what you're watching now was filmed before S3 even released back in June 2024. Kerrigan's was the name of the bar that the unnamed Berzatto father loved that Mikey said was a shithole.

I assume this wasn't intentional, but there's a pretty obnoxious continuity error in the first episode with the countdown clock - when we first see it, it reads 1440:00:00 hours, which is precisely 60 days (60 x 24 = 1440). Once Computer hits the button to start the countdown, it immediately ticks to 1339:59:59... 100 hours just completely vanished. It should have ticked down to 1439:59:59.

Yeah, that clock is nothing but trouble for continuity this season. Several things that happen on X or Y date in S4 are in direct contradiction with the countdown clock. Best to just ignore it other than for what it symbolizes.

For comedic purposes I watched the review of spirited away the other day (I don’t like it either so I can see the funny side to the guys losing it) so when the wine scene came up I literally laughed out loud🤣 legends, held it together well oak😉😂

It's funny how men deduce things differently. For me Sugar has recently given birth and is trying to stay fit the best she can postpartum. So she does her steps on the treadmill. Pete meets her enemy at the gym meaning she probably is nice and fit. It's harder to get your body back to how it was after pregnancy. So Sugar wants to / doesn't want to know how she looks. So she asked Pete if she was hot. Mentally comparing herself. And if Pete knows what's good for him, do not tell a woman going through postpartum that another woman looks hot let alone someone she doesn't like.

Oh - also - just want to jump in and say the way you guys love the controlled chaos of this show makes me think you'd all love The Pitt - S1 is 15 episodes and it's on HBO Max and Hulu (and probably other places), and S2 premieres this week!

Obviously, you guys can tell that Francie Fak is going to make an appearance given how much time they're spending on her issues with Sugar (so mentioning that yes, she does show up at some point, without mentioning when or where or played by whom, doesn't feel like a spoiler). I'm really looking forward to y'all's reaction to that whole bit of business.

Mikey is eating pistachios which are later incorporated into the savoury cannoli Marcus creates in S2 if you remember. Fun fact: Abby Elliott's (Sugar) dad, Chris Elliott, was in Groundhog Day. Carmy has been sending Mikey messages throughout the series, They say things like "I found the tomato cans" and "You were right about Claire Bear." I find it a really touching detail about how people handle grief.

How do we make this show even more stressful and anxiety-inducing? Oh, let’s add a countdown clock in the kitchen. Having said that I do enjoy “uncle” computer. Nat's baby's first word is definitely going to be a f bomb, lol.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season 4 reactions but I'm going to be sad once they are done with the bear reactions until season 5. These reactions have became a Tuesday staple.

I love seeing Carmy trying in ep 2. That Carmy/Natalie scene is so beautifully written and performed and Bob Dylan's Most of the Time playing in the background is just perfection. I am also HERE for more Sweeps and Ebra content. For me the season really starts to pick up now and to say I'm already excited for what's to come is an understatement.

Have you ever tried to contact the Patron people. They don't respond to anything. The phone # they supply doesn't take calls. They say on my credit card statement that they are located in Ireland but the phone # they supply comes from New York.

The support pages also say you can contact them on X (Twitter) and that they respond within 1-2 hours during business hours. I'd try that because they don't want "You guys are double-dipping and I'm canceling all of my memberships" sitting out there without a reply. Also recommend using the submit a request button AND sending an email. Also I really do recommend putting this in the Badd Medicine chat room, because someone else may have had this problem and could direct you to how they fixed it

Another thing I just realized about continuity errors... the original financing deal with Jimmy was for 18 months, and they entered into it at the beginning of February 2023. The start of S4 takes place in summer 2023, which I know because Tiff's wedding is in September 2023, and it's a month or so after the season premiere, chronologically. They say in 4x1 that they have 9 months left to pay off the loan, but that doesn't make any sense if the 18 month repayment schedule began in early February. The 9 month marker would be November 2023, and it is definitely not November 2023 in the first episode. I absolutely love this show, but it's kind of surprising how many little details like that which they missed when they were in the writer's room putting it all together. The date of Tiff and Frank's wedding is also fictional - the invitation shown in 3x9 says the wedding is on Sunday, September 7, 2023. But September 7, 2023 was in fact a Thursday. Anyway, I freely admit that I'm a bit of a neurotic pedantic weirdo for noticing all of this silly minutiae. I also get annoyed anytime I see people use the word "literally" when they're making a very obviously hyperbolic statement that is in no way a literal statement of fact (eg - someone describing a 15 year old as "literally a baby". No, a 15 year old is not literally a baby. They are literally a teenager).

Man,i cant remember any other show that has just gotten better every single episode. Each episode i find myself saying, "This is my new favorite episode!". I mean it is just so captivating and it pulls me in. Its wild to think that i never even considered watching this show when it was originally releasing. I only gave it a chance because of you guys honestly lol The acting,the dialogue,the pacing,the attention to detail,the direction,the productin..just everything is so stellar. It hits home for me especially as ive been working in the food industry for 10 years,dealing with alot of the type of people we see in this show. This season is off to a incredible start and cant wait to see whats next,LFG!

I found Patreon support to be no help at all when I was having issues accessing content. I wound up cancelling my subscription, then after it ended I waited a couple of days and started a new subscription. That resolved all my problems. I told patreon support that cancelling solved my problems and they were all "That's great! Happy to hear it!". They really are terrible.

Yes, this was my take too. It feels very much like that lifelong frenemy who knows you better than you know yourself, but your relationship blew up and you're secretly a little competitive with and jealous of but also sad and kind of miss? Is this just a female experience? I swear best friend breakups hurt more deeply than any romantic relationship ever could.

I wonder if Carmy ever really loved being a chef or if he just loved that it differentiated him from all of the negative aspects of his life. I think Syd's comment about "have you tried just not being so miserable" was very Donna-coded. I also have a sinking feeling loosening the reins and just watching while others blossom is going to have a negative affect on Carmy. Like how Donna would never allow any help for family meals? Timers vs timers? There are a lot of parallels here. My hope is that he'll see the others challenging themselves and discovering new passions and he'll do the same. It's also imperative that he and Richie clear the air so they can support each other through their existential crises. I'm excited to see all the love for season 4 because Carmy was really pissing me off in 3. On a funny side note, my first date was seeing Groundhog Day with a neighbor kid I didn't really know and had nothing in common with (he was tall and hot, what can I say). Worst first date movie ever. I felt like it lasted for 1200 hours, and it was so dang awkward. Afterward, he asked me if i wanted to go do something else and I really, really didn't, so he took me home. The next Monday at school his sister was talking crap about me, and I could NOT figure out why. Turns out his feelings were hurt because he'd been saving up money to take me to Taco Bell afterward (y'all, I paid for my own movie ticket, and back then tacos were like $.69). Such a weird thing to be pissed about? Anyway, he never spoke to me again, his sister continued to hate me, and Groundhog Day is the one movie I will never watch twice!!
