Oh yay! I’ve been waiting for this one. I remember watching the password reveal for the first time when the episode aired. Thought it was the coolest reveal ever! To this day it’s one of my favorite episodes of TV.😁

CeeEl

I had that as my lockscreen for a bit 😅

Justin Russell

The worst part of this entire reaction is learning, y’all don’t own any cardigans. As a 32 year old from Ohio cardigans are fall and winter game changers!!

Jeff K.

I had honestly forgotten just how freaking good this episode is. After A Study in Pink, I think it's the best of the series.

Jeff K.

I can honestly say that in my 45 years on this planet, growing up in New England, I have never once owned a cardigan. And now I feel like you're shaming me. How dare you, Justin. How dare you, indeed.

Lauren

Okay, so I’m commenting in the middle of the reaction, so I may comment again afterwards, too. 1. Things in this episode that are also from the books: The Case of the Speckled Band. 2. The Case of the Naval Treaty. 3. Irene Adler was mentioned as “THE Woman” because Sherlock viewed her as his only equal. In the original story, she DID fool him. 4. Till is the acceptable casual spelling of “until.”

Jecxxy

This is my favorite episode. I rewatched it so many time I lost count and I think I will rewatch your reaction again and again as well. I am so glad you enjoyed it.

Lauren

I think the magic of this show is, apart from Sherlock’s brilliance and the homage to the original stories, is how the writers explore Sherlock’s heart versus mind. When Mycroft says, “What can we deduce from his heart?” I think that is the pivotal prevailing theme of this show. He calls himself a “functioning sociopath”, but as his character develops, you can see how big his heart really is.

Can’t wait for my favourite person in the whole series; The (other) Woman! Also Mycroft going on about sentiment just to turn around and ask Watson to make sure Sherlock is alright 🥹

Alina B

The episode is based on the story A Scandal in Bohemia. There is a character named Irene Adler who manages to outsmart Holmes, and he calls her ‘The Woman.’ Incidentally, there is also a storyline involving blackmailing a royal personage, but without the sexual undertones and the person is not from England. I like the dynamics of the episode, there is a lot of action and we see the characters develop, they reveal themselves from a side we haven't seen before. I am very interested in your reaction to the next episode, which I think could also be made into a film.

Jeff K.

Since y'all were asking if Irene Adler was in the RDJ movies (I haven't finished the reaction, I had to pause it so apologies if this gets mentioned in the post-episode discussion), Rachel McAdams played Irene in those movies. It’s very much a Batman/Catwoman relationship.

Megan

I hope you guys do watch Elementary after Sherlock. It's my favorite iteration of Sherlock and a great cast.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

For Mason Quinn - the clues Sherlock got from the guy who came to get him were actually important clues and not throwaway info. The man says "Where you're going, you'll want to be dressed." Then Sherlock looks at him: £700 suit (about $1,000 today), so well-paid but not overly so; unarmed, so not enforcement, yet sent to collect him; manicured etc., so office worker; three small dogs." - plus the fact that several men have been sent to fetch him. From that information, Sherlock says, "Oh, I know exactly where I'm going." That man he read works in Buckingham Palace, likely directly for the Queen, who was famous for having her corgis accompany her everywhere.

DKMT Show

Can yall react to the His & Hers featuring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson? Its only 6 episodes and trending No 1 on Netflix.

Jane Avery

Yes! Elementary is amazing! Unfortunately it only has about 30 likes as a recommendation on the Badd Medicine website so I'm not sure it'll happen anytime soon :(

Megan

Yeah I saw that, I feel like not many people are aware that it's a Sherlock show. I'm hoping the guys will want to keep the Sherlock momentum going and will decide to watch it.

Marie RammGirl

Cool seeing the origin of why he started wearing the hat, liked how we got a whole different side to Sherlock for start of this season, showing emotions we wouldn't normally expect from him, that apologising was a first right? & possible soft spot for Adler, what a brilliant way to start off S2! with all the cheeky/risqué dialogue, all the plot twists & the PERFECT timing of that text message tone in certain moments, LOVED your reactions to all those things, I did have a little cheer along with you guys when we heard the thud, cause ya just waiting for that moment, liked way Quinn said Moriarty's "Skin You/Shoes" lines hehe, also Oak's right there are some nice countryside places in UK to ride a horse & near where I live there some fields that'd be good for that, also I'm guessing that the compromising photos of a certain someone could possibly of been Princess Margret. Definitely my favourite episode so far.

Fajar Kurniawan

It's funny Sherlock told a story of WW2 when the allies crack German code. in The Imitation Game (2014) Benedict Cumberbatch played as Alan Turing, a scientist who decrypted German intelligence messages for the British government during World War II. There is no such thing as coincidence 😁

Alex

One of my fav episodes! LOVE me some Irene Adler!!!

Jan T

This episode is the peak of this entire series, closely followed by A Study in Pink imo. The next two episodes in season 2 are good, and very enjoyable, but this episode was Sherlock at it’s very best.

Kalkent

My fav episode of television ever! Writing can't be topped, or if it can, I have yet to witness.

Zoe S

So happy😁this is one of my favourite episodes and I loved our guys reaction to it🥰

Selkirk57

My favorite episode of the series. Came back to Patreon just for this. Anyone else spot two GoT actors? Robb Stark's wife and the main representative of the Iron Bank.

ArcAngel

Yay! I'm about to watch this and so excited!

Sia Bak

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE EPISODE!! Thank you guys for the reaction

Aubrey

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Mason Quinn missed his calling as a detective!

Jacqueline Hahn

Adler is the main character in A scandal in Belgravia, the only woman Holmes ever falls for in the original canon.
