more Sherlock with ya fine fellas sure makes it a super Sunday for us! Look forward to watching later! 💙💚❤️

rottedvein

it is hands down my favourite episode

Alina B

This is the most heartbreaking episode of Sherlock

Lauren

The lady journalist is Molly Weasley in the new upcoming Harry Potter series!

Jeff K.

For the guys: without getting into spoilers for the actual show, this episode was inspired in large part by Doyle's novel "The Final Problem." He was at a point in his career where he was basically tired of writing Sherlock Holmes stories, so he actually intended that book to be the last, hence an ending in which Sherlock appears to die. (He was obviously later persuaded to go back to the series and write more Sherlock stories.)

Brooksie

Would love for you guys to watch The Crown after Sherlock <3

Neti

Been enjoying rewatching Sherlock with you guys very much! Btw, those hard cuts are quite jarring indeed, I think they're not supposed to be there at all, they weren't part of the original edit the previous times I watched the series (outside of Disney+), so I honestly have no idea why they decided to include them here 🤷‍♀️

crushingit

y’all need to watch Fleabag after this to see more of Andrew Scott 🙏

patricia jimjimcherie

This was supposed to be Conan Doyle's last Sherlock story, he died in it, but the people loved Sherlock so much they basically forced Conan Doyle into bringing him back. Hence why this episode ends the way it does. This is still one of my favorite episodes. I have been watching Sherlock since s1, when this episode came out we had to wait TWO YEARS. Two years were we made all sort of theories on Tumblr, so s3e1 is a treat for us fans who were there in the trenches. Can't wait for y'all to see it!

patricia jimjimcherie

Oh I can tell you what the break was like!!! We were on Tumblr. Tumblr had the big three: Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Sherlock. Tumblr was full of theories, it was AMAZING. Crack theories to actual good theories. I remember being part of it all. It was wonderful, back when fandom was fun. We were all half crazy by the time the 3rd season came out.

Jeff K.

Fleabag is soooooo good. I'd love to see them react to it. And it's only two short seasons, so it's not a very big time commitment, either.

Lauren

Yep, and they lovingly incorporate that a little in the next episode! Can’t wait until the guys watch it!

BecauseBeca

Yeah in the show those cuts are not there. When we watched it on BBC America there were no ads in the middle.

BecauseBeca

Moriarty did more than print off headshots he also had the DVD recordings of his kids show, etc.

crushingit

Exactly it’s so short they could just squeeze it in anywhere in their schedule hahah, Andrew Scotts incredible in it too it’d be great to see the switch up in his acting

MadBone127

Enjoying the series. Thanks. The cuts are not normal as the BBC airing would not have had commercials, and are also not on the Netflix version. Maybe switch to that to avoid the weird hard cuts which are kind of jarring.

Jeff K.

Plus, there's a certain person from another show they just finished (Fleabag's brother-in-law; don't want to say what show or the actor/character so it'll be a fun surprise for them if they ever watch it, but you know who I'm talking about) that I think they'd get a kick out of seeing.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

We've been over this with them, they know - there's no better way for them to watch, unfortunately.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

Diamond Dave, if you're reading - there's a seven-minute minisode that they guys should watch before they watch the season 3 premiere. It's called Many Happy Returns.

Brooksie

Yes I have already hehe

Halle

Fun fact, Billie Ellish song "You should see me in a crown" was inspired by this episode, she wrote the song with her brother after watching the show, they are both big Sherlock fans.

Jan T

And that amazing episode is where I end my Sherlock journey with you guys. The first two seasons are peak television, imo. But from season 3 on, it’s a steady downward spiral that just descends into silliness and badly written in-jokes. No offence meant to those who still enjoy season 3 etc, just my own personal experience and disappointment with the remainder of the series.

Marie RammGirl

They sure upped the mind games to the max with this episode! Moriarty planting the seeds of doubt in everyone's minds (well except John of course) even Sherlock took a leaf out of his book with that ending there, with a mind game of his own on John, they did a very clever job with the writing here & made you feel on edge the entire episode, very intrigued how the next part of this plays out now, they sure know to keep people deeply hooked for more!. YAY for the Beverly Hills Cop with the gum & Hobbit "Smaug" reference over his "prepared to burn" line. Also Answer uses colour for his scores, so Quinn using a colour for his scores should be fine too...as we can still see it clearly, so there we go :)

Megan

It's funny Watson NOW cares about Sherlock's publicity/lack of anonymity....when Watson caused it. What did he think was going to happen when he started blogging and easily got over a thousand views? Also, I forgot Katherine Parkinson (It Crowd) was in this and as soon as she was on screen, I immediately blurted "Don't be weird Jen, you're not Moss or Roy." 🤣🤣🤣

Sammy

I just noticed how John's exit at the graveyard resembled how a soldier leaves a fallen comrade after paying respects 😢💔

Gem

I cannot explain to you how torturous the wait was between seasons. It was so so long!!

Gem

This HAS to happen!

Alina B

Conan Doyle got so tired of the character of Sherlock Holmes that he decided to kill him off. And Sherlock Holmes dies alongside Moriarty in a battle at Reichenbach Falls. Watson is also distracted by a fictitious call to a person who has fallen ill. Conan Doyle did not plan to resurrect Holmes at that time, but the authors of the series definitely planned to do so. Waiting two years was a long time. In the stories, Holmes and Watson meet Mycroft at the Diogenes Club. It is a club where conversation is prohibited except in a special room. It was a very emotional episode.

Great reaction as usual! As someone else says, you NEED to react to Many Happy Returns. It's on YouTube, and I think it's very important to understand some things that happen in the first episode of season 3. It's a canon 7-minutes episode. You can maybe react to it immediately before reacting to the next episode, it's like a mini-intro, and it's important IMO. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwntNANJCOE See you on Sunday ! :)

Logical Dreamer

People had to wait two years between seasons 2 and 3. It felt so long!
