Please watch Ranveer's debut movie BAND BAAJA BAARAT next. Also his movies Padmaavat & Gully Boy. These are incredible movies & you will also get to see more of his range

Aria Isara

DD missing again 😩 (I don't even know if the movie is good yet but still 😅)

Aria Isara

Gully Boy should be the priority to see both his and Alia's range after Rocky Aur Rani. But whoever put it on the rec page forgot to add the Indian tag 😩

Beautyful_Mess

I can’t express just how excited I’m for this reaction. I just hope and pray they liked the film fingers crossed 🤞.

Beautyful_Mess

Can we resubmit the film?? Maybe we can tell them there’s no tag in the first recommendation so we are doing it again.

Tania R

Oh, thanks for asking, @Aria! Great to hear we’ll get the full panel eventually 😊

Kashmira

No the movie has the indian tag. It was me who submitted it. You can recheck. Maybe you are thinking of his movie Dil Dhadakne Do that doesn't have the tag

Aria Isara

DD I'm crossing fingers you'll be here for my fav Aavesham if you guys finally get to it one day lol 😁 or for one that I think you'll truly enjoy like Andhadhun, Drishyam or Udta Punjab (on top of my head) 😊🤞

Aria Isara

Ohhh good to know. Yes I was confusing with DDD! @beautyful_mess the admin said that at some point the tag will be added as they are in the process of linking all the early recs to their TMDB page, so it will be obvious if something should be tagged Indian. But it might take a long time...

Redwan Ahmed

Anyone else struggling with Streamable link?

Badd Medicine

It does look like there is a world wide internet issue going on at the moment

Shannon

Never would have watched this if it wasn’t for the channel! Really enjoyed it, despite being the longest movie I’ve ever watched (and I have adhd) 😂 thank you 😁

Aria Isara

The run time is wild even for India 😅 The only longer one I've ever seen is Lagaan which I think is around 3h40. I have ADHD too and I was surprised to watch it in one setting lol, it didn't feel long.

Aria Isara

It wouldn't load when I was on Chrome but then it worked when I switched to Ecosia 🤔

Tania R

Yes, Answer, completely agree!! What an entrance that was by Akshay Khanna!! All dressed in black with the aviator-style sunglasses 😎, casually dancing his way in. He absolutely crushed it. Apparently that moment was improvised rather than scripted, and it went completely viral! And what a banger of a song too. 🎶 (1:36:55)

Aria Isara

About the Knightrider music, it's actually a song by Doja Cat called "Aaahh Men" that samples it and that they used in the movie, but the funny thing is that the Dhurandhar title track is a remix of Jogi, a 2000s hit by Panjabi MC, and the most famous song by Panjabi MC is Mundian To Bach Ke which became a huge international hit in the late 90s, and which ALSO features that Knighrider sample. So at first when I heard it in the movie I thought this was a new version of that Panjabi MC song since the title track is a Panjabi MC remix already, but then I heard Doja Cat and got confused 😅 Since the movie features a lot of Punjabi music, and our lead is revealed at the end to be Punjabi, I think they might have chosen the Doja Cat song as an Easter Egg to make people think of Mundian To Bach Ke. I'm linking the 90s video for it, what an iconic song, but be careful the video is like a fever dream lol and it also reminds of Dhurandhar because at some point it shows footage of the Thaipusam (?) festival where devotees pierce their skin with hooks... 😳 Back in the late 90s this song was my 1st exposure to anything Indian, I loved it but I remembered being slightly traumatized by that part of the video 😅 https://youtu.be/x9WO2ieJMYk?si=SKKyqQ4uj6gxjTwM Also the whole OST is just really good, I found this cool post if you want to identify one specific song from the movie and relistened to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/BollywoodMusic/comments/1q3sezk/all_18_songs_used_in_dhurandhar/ My favs are the title track and Ez Ez, which mixes bagpipes, rap, and Punjabi music with Diljit Dosanjh who is a singer I love

Aria Isara

Good movie, I really didn't feel the length. I enjoyed you review. You guys would also probably love Uri, the previous movie by the same director, who is also based on real events related to a terror attack but the lead characters are fictional. It's a war movie, not a spy one. I haven't checked but yeah I think some mixed or bad reviews for Dhurandhar might be from people who dislike anything deemed too patriotic or "jingoistic". Despite getting overall good reviews Uri had been accused of jingoism too but for both movies it didn't feel that way to me. As you said it's a sensitive topic. But even Anurag Kashyap (one of the most well known Hindi directors) gave a good review of Dhurandhar, and he's known to criticize jingoism. Kashyap is famous for his gritty crime movies, for example Gangs of Wasseypur which I've seen many people recommend to you guys. Another movie I want to mention is Raazi, it's a spy thriller set in Pakistan and it's also based on a real story, great movie and I think it has a good amount of likes on the website 😁 It's with Alia Bhatt as lead (she was with Ranveer in Rocky Aur Rani).

Tania R

Loved the Knight Rider wrap-up (Doja Cat’s Aaahh Men!) at the end. Such a fun touch. I had to watch this one in batches due to the time frame, but honestly it never dragged for me. It was incredibly gritty and gory at times and I definitely had to look away more than once, but the story stayed compelling throughout. And Ranveer Singh… wow. He was just amazing in this. The long hair and beard completely transformed him. That reveal at the end though. Wild. Had such a great time watching this and your reaction. Cannot wait for Part 2. 🔥

Lock_Down

Guys seems Chak De is in Netflix . Try it out too

Aria Isara

At first I was like, wouldn't it be better to sync and have to movie on a full screen? 🤔 but I tried the uncut anyway... Then the graphic scenes arrived and I realized having it on a smaller part of the screen was the best option 😂💀

Tania R

Absolutely!! 😂, I had the exact same thought. Smaller screen suddenly felt like full self-care mode. Also helped for those moments when I basically had to close both eyes 🙈 and ears 🙉. 🙂‍↔️ Also, have you seen Bajrangi Bhaijaan? I know it’s one of the popular recs on the website & it stars Salman Khan. I watched a bit of the trailer & absolutely loved it. If you’ve seen it, what did you think?

Kashmira

They built entire sets for this film according to how those places looked back then in Pakistan, and the actors are all indian . Also real footage has been shown in the movie at times about the terror attacks on India by Pakistan

Aria Isara

By the way, you guys didn't recognize that the guy who organized the spy mission is played by Madhavan who was one of the leads of 3 Idiots (he played the one who wanted to become a photographer)... But tbh I knew beforehand it was him otherwise I wouldn't have recognized him either 😅 They just gave him such a different look. Also, I'm so hoping you'll watch Sanju at some point 🤞 it's the biopic of Sanjay Dutt where Ranbir Kapoor plays him and it's by the director of 3 Idiots and PK. You'll love it!! Each time Sanjay is in a movie Mason immediately points it out. You guys have no idea how WILD his life has been. The fact he's still making movies is incredible.

Hazal Dag

Can you react to ram leela pleaseeeee

Tyah Reacts

This movie was INSANE lol

Ranveer Singh is the one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema. He has pulled off many versatile roles. Some of his iconic movies are Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Gully Boy, 83, Ramleela, Band Baja Baraat. Pls react to all these movies. They are super entertaining.
