Let's effing GOOOOO. Saving this for after work today. So excited!

Alexandra

OMGOMGOMG FINALLY

Elijah Boadi

CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 2 IT WILL TRULY HAVE THEM GLUED TO THEIR CHAIR

Kaley

I love this episode. I will say, as someone who has stuttered since she was three, I wanted to dispel the misconception that stuttering can always be cured and is something to “overcome”…that isn’t the case for many, and it’s not always viewed as something to overcome, but that’s a common stereotype in media. That being said, I appreciate the representation!

Kaley

Season 2 is my fav!

buddiefan911

I haven’t watched this show since it first aired. I forgot how entertaining it actually is. Really excited for the Queen Charlotte reaction too (if that’s something you guys are doing)

Karissa M

Same! I just rewatched Queen Charlotte as well and cannot wait! I think they mentioned they were going to do it after Bridgerton season 2

Eli St John (Ellie) 🖤

“How does a lady come to be with child? I thought one needed to be married!!!” PEAK ELOISE. 😭😂🤘🏼

Shea

I hope the 3 of you come to love the character Eloise as much as I do. In my opinion, she's the best character in the show.

Alexandra

oooh so one thing that's super important to know: unmarried ladies in high society were not taught how intimate relations worked whatsoever. Not until the day they married, and most of the times their mothers didn't actually tell them in great detail so they to some degree went into the ordeal blindly. Which means that they are completely ignorant to anything related to it!

Sofie

in the books Simon's stutter is presented differently than in the show... in the books he hasn't overcome it - as you said - it's a constant struggle that he has. I just think they had to embrace it differently with much less time to showcase it. Anyways, I can imagine the representation is great! (as someone who has little knowledge of the extent)

BlueJean452

A good way to keep the Bridgertons ages straight is to remember that they were named alphabetically as they were born. So their ages season 1 are Anthony (28), Benedict (26), Colin (19), Daphne (18), Eloise (17), Francesca (16), Gregory (12), & Hyacinth (10).

Jayme Riemer

Pen learns where babies come from finally 🤣🤭

Alexandra

Colin is almost 20 in season 1, and in season 2 he's 21

BlueJean452

Yes I am taking about the beginning of season 1. Almost 20 is also called 19…

Emily G

I hope that after this you guys will consider reacting to Outlander the show. It’s really good.

PLMB

Love love love the reaction! Nice to see you’re enjoying Bridgerton. All of us who are up to date with the show will tune in on Thursday for the final episodes of season 4. And shout out to the BBC 1995 version of pride and prejudice. Pacing is much nicer than the movie in my opinion.

krissy

I feel like Caroline Quentin (Nigel's mom) could fit right in on a Harry Potter set.

Ashley S

So excited to watch!

Julia

One episode a week is torture 😩😕

MaddieB

Women learn about sex and how babies come to be either on their wedding day when their mother explain it for them or if they somehow visit a farm and happen to witness animals in the act. That´s why Collin asks Eloise if she has ever visit a farm :D

r

same 😭 i understand them too but damn its hard for us 😅

Megan Schnese

The song that DD was trying to recognize when Simon and Daphne were dancing together the first time this episode was actually the theme song of the show from episode one. That's why it sounded familiar. It wasn't a pop song that they normally use.

donna

this is my first time watch and i am having so much fun, i would have never expected to be so invested lol

Peaches

Dear gentle readers it has come to my attention that the incomparable Diamond Dave was spotted with a newly side bangs while filming. Though he is questioning whether to keep it that way, It is to be noted that this author approves it.😆Please consider 2 ep a week, this show is too good😭

Carolina M

I don't know if anyone has already talked about these interesting facts that Diamond Dave asked about, but the interior scenes are filmed on location. The royal palace is Lancaster House, where several other historical series are filmed, including The Crown. In England, several palaces and historical houses are maintained for filming like this. And the Queen was sniffing snuff (which is basically tobacco ash), which was common among royalty at that time and is also part of sacred rituals of indigenous peoples of South America.

Aria Isara

Hopefully we get at least a double drop for the end of each season!

Aria Isara

You guys are SO invested 😁👌 The Queen is one of my fav characters and I love the actress's performance, glad you guys are enjoying it too! I laughed when MQ got confused with the Mozart metaphor 🤣

ShaniaBADDIE4LIFE🤘🐶🐱✨

Mason Quinn just wants them to fall in love now. Oak is like, "Look at my guy mason quinn get invested." 😂

ShaniaBADDIE4LIFE🤘🐶🐱✨

Diamond Dave is just pissed and annoyed at Nigel. I fucking love it. "Be gone with him." as diamond dave would say😂

Grace Arnold

If you ever have trouble remembering who’s older/younger just remember the Bridgerton kids are named alphabetically oldest to youngest. Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth

FD

I think what makes it more confusing is the characters are different ages in the books and show (Daphne is 21 in the book & 18 in the show etc)

Ashley S

PS Dave loved the hair--you can totally rock the no hat look!

Ashley S

Totally forgot about that!

Ashley S

Cannot wait for Queen Charlotte, too!

Lauren

“He fell, too many drinks” lol. I love your disdain for “that guy.”

Tyah Reacts

Im so happy you guys are loving this show!🫶🏾, it really is one of a kind especially when it comes to period pieces

Peaches

Rewatching these first two episodes with y’all reminded me of how incredible this season truly is and I can see why it’s still critics highest scoring season out of all Bridgerton season so far. OAK we get it the Duke had us all in a chokehold with that face🤤. That’s a fine man!!! I agree the chemistry between the Duke and Daphne is on another level, it’s just so effortless. Also The “scandal” and the storylines. Loved the backstory on the duke as well. It allows us audience to understand why he’s the way he is. The collective “fuck this guy”each time Nigel appears on screen is so real had me dying of laughter 😂. I can’t express how much I hate Simon dad and Nigel, they are truly unbearable to watch and thats a testament to how great the actors played that role

Lauren

I know I keep saying it, but I BEG you to watch Downton Abbey. I swear it is the GOAT of period pieces - the cast is outstanding, and you have so much more than just romantic entanglements. If you like scandals, there’s soooo many in Downton Abbey. And the wit! Every dinner scene has dialogue that is so interesting and entertaining. It has heart, humor, and so much to talk about. I could write a book about the reasons you should watch it, but I digress. Please, please consider adding it to your watchlist.

Tyah Reacts

Also young ladies are kept basically innocent in this society. They aren't taught about sex for the sake of keeping the marriage mart intact. They find out about sex only when they become married. And the men are allowed to have sex before marriage but not with the titled young ladies of society, only with people outside of society such as the opera singer that Anthony has flings with.

MB

Man I am loving y’all’s reaction to this but GAH I cannot wait for season 2 reactions!

MB

Yessss they have to QC!

Alanna Meyers 🍌

DD, your hair looks great so I vote no hat! First time watch with the guys and I gotta say Lady Danbury’s character is my favourite so far. The way she balances softness and maternity with boldness and take no shit is incredible. It’s hard to pull off and the actress is amazing. Also, just watching the wrap up now so apologies if they looked it up but the last song “In My Blood” is by Shawn Mendes not Maroon 5, Oak.

Bae Lani

hey guys, great reaction! by the way, I don't know if you guys ended up finding out in the end, but the song Oak was wondering about (playing in the background while Daphne & Simon are dancing in the middle of the episode) is called "In my blood" by Shawn Mendes. So yes, he's probably heard this one on the radio before as well 😂

Maisie

Diamond Dave calling Lady Whistledown "Lady Dubs" sent me into a fit of uncontrollable giggles

Eli St John (Ellie) 🖤

A lot of the grand interiors are actual historic English estates! I remember in S1 interviews the cast said production would lowkey panic during intimate scenes because they didn’t want anyone scratching the very expensive furnitures. Those pieces are basically museum-level antiques. 😂

Aubrey

@Eli Min Manila 100%

Knightmare

Simon needs to drop the damn act 😂 we all know you like her man

Eli St John (Ellie) 🖤

Oh sorry Aubrey I deleted my reply cause I wasn't sure. But yeah, I lowkey think Answer would have clocked that Lady Whistledown is Julie Andrews' voice. :D

Jesse B

Bros got me looking forward to Tuesday on a Sunday Smh 😂😂😂

Zoe S

This was a lot of fun😊 loving the hair Diamond Dave😁 I'm hoping we get to see it more often in future🤞

Zoe S

Ye I'm pretty sure we will do as that’s generally their format (Diamond Dave also possibly hinted that we will on a previous post😁)

Amanda Diaz

I’m so glad yall are enjoying Bridgerton! I’m always looking forward to Tuesdays now just refreshing to see yalls reaction! 😂

Aubrey

Daphne: 8 balls, my lord. Mason Quinn: Billiards? lmao I'm glad that Diamond Dave has gotten so into it! I can't wait until they see more of Lady Danbury and Violet and get to see that they're playing chess while everyone else is trying to figure out tic-tac-toe. As for Eloise's reaction to Hyacinth's birth, while Eloise would not have remembered Francesca's birth, she would have remembered Gregory's, which means that her fear of Hyacinth's goes beyond just normal childbirth. Violet was a pro at having children by then, but she would have been heavily grieving, she would have been advanced in child bearing age by their standards, and, as we saw with Simon's mother, maternal mortality was a serious threat. Eloise's fear isn't just biological ignorance like with the 'where do babies come from' issue, she is legitimately terrified of a very real danger.

Elena

Queen Charlotte is shown sniffing snuff, which is a type of finely powdered, flavored tobacco that was highly popular among the aristocracy during the Regency era. Shes not doing drugs yall, lol

Ailene Evangelista

Watching y’all eat this up was so fun. I cannot wait for more!

Carolina M

I Loveeee DA so much, it is soooo good, so much drama

mdl

Berbooke gave me major Wormtail vibes. Great job by the actor, glad they dealt with him swiftly this episode it would have been soo annoying seeing him pop up throughout the season.

Stephie

When the Queen kicked out Brimsley because he was a "gossip" during her tea with Violet, I assumed she said that intentionally to give Violet the idea of getting gossip from servants to get rid of Nigel.

Marie RammGirl

So first things first...DIAMOND DAVE SHOULD DEFINITELY ROCK THAT HAIRSTYLE more often, the head shake after got me haha 😂 All 3 of yours reactions to the scandalous dialogue & all the characters (especially Anthony/Berbrooke) was the absolute best! Eloise is also entertaining character with her wit, we all had the same reactions as yours when "2 doors" FINALLY came to his senses over Nigel & when he got his just desserts. Liked Quinn/DD's 'take hand' & Quinn's 'John Wick' poses hehe, "see those sideburns?, of the baby?" haha, yea I liked the backstory of The Duke & was a satisfying scene with his father in his final moments there. I was going to inform you about Snuff but Quinn already had it covered :) it was quite popular with the wealthy high class during those times, I'm enjoying rewatching Season 1 so MUCH MORE with you guys. ❤️

Harmony

There was definitely no sex ed for young women back then. Girls were to be sheltered from things like that because it was seen as unladylike / too inappropriate for a woman to hear. Sometimes, it would be left until they just experienced it for themselves.

07raluca

I hope, if you are considering watching more British historical series, you will add “North and South” (2004) (4 episodes) to the list. But for now, I am enjoying rewatching Bridgerton with you guys.

LindyRamdass

Please also watch Emma 2020 version. Its a great movie to watch for a period piece.

gen

They would have a BALL with Emma 2020. Even though the mini series is really the best as far as storyline and chemistry, the 2020 version is so beautiful and colorful and I think theyd have a blast with the humor in it. I hope they get to it someday too

Lolapie

I've watched season1 at least 10x, but Im still confused as to the last scene with Simon and Daphne. Was she proposing to him before he cut her off or what?

Isolde

Better to do the movie

07raluca

Sorry, what movie are you referring to? From what I know both "North and South" productions (British 2004 and American 1985) are mini-series, and different in topic. One presents industrial conflict and the other US Civil War.

Dani M

i hope they do all seasons of Bridgerton, im on the 4th one now and i love it so muchhh

M

Since y’all have seen Peacemaker, Freddie Stroma (aka Vigilante) shows up in season 1, so keep an eye out!

Alanna Meyers 🍌

Yesssss, now that you mention it he does give Wormtail vibes.

Amaia

What does the "Two Door" reference to Anthony mean?

Badd Medicine

Hello. Wicked was our first introduction to Anthony. There he is named Fiyero. That is also a brand name of a 2 door car. Hope this helps. 🤙

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

28:26 — “Fuck that guy” absolutely sent me 😂 Your reaction to this character was the best! I was dying laughing. Then Diamond Dave’s reaction to Queen sniffing snuff at 44:12 was hilarious. But the peak was definitely your reaction to Nigal’s mother. Your faces were something else 😂😂😂 The disgust and disbelief over what you were hearing was so palpable! And in general, I love how invested you all already are!

AK

She wasn't proposing to him. With the obstacle of Nigel finally gone, this was Daphne having a serious conversation with Simon about what is truly at stake here. So far he has been flippant about committing to things like which/how many events they will attend because he only really cares about the ruse in the sense of keeping the mamas off his back which has already worked. She is trying to level-set the stakes for him that this is about far more than that. It is about her life and he needs to take that seriously. However, the strong undercurrent of their chemistry and growing attraction to each other starts to muddy things in the conversation as they are dancing close. They are feeling things for each other that they aren't ready to recognize or acknowledge.
