I'm just here to recommend Vinland Saga for your next SUB anime 🫶🏻 it's up there with attack on titan and just know you would adore it. 💓

Hassan Jameel

i feel like u guys would enjoy fate series (subbed or dubbed). same studio as demon slayer with great action, story, characters, and soundtrack and animation. around 50 eps and 3 movies for the main series so not too long either.

Leif

YESS I’ve been recommending VS since the very start, I’m prayinggggg it gets chosen soon! It’s so up their alley! But sadly realistically, the other battle Shonen will win the votes lol rippp

bien

you guys met his brother! he was there with all the others. he’s the wind hashira, the one who had all the scars. he stab nezuko & got head butted by tanjiro. **just got to this part of the discussion. yes that’s him. & the upper 4 demon got small after releasing the other ones. he was normal size at the castle **

Chosos Wife

Yeah probably. If jjk or MHA wins I'm not bothered as they're some of my favourites too. I just hope Vinland wins at some point. The votes really depends on who took season 2 as the masterpiece it is or if they viewed it as farmland saga. Either way, yeah a shonen will win. But there's hope for the future! They would love the show a lot especially season 2 in my opinion since they love deep characters development

Tania R

Tokito calling that upper 5 a 'piece of shit' for his cruel, sadistic artwork was the peak of savage - definitely the highlight for episode 5! 🔥😂 Even knowing it was coming, seeing you all pop for that moment made it hit so much harder! That was just hilariously awesome 👍.

Leisha

Im not sure if you guys remember but all the upper ranks have muzans memories, which is why they are having flashbacks during their fights with tanjiro. Also, genyas brother is Sanemi, he is the wind hashira, he is the one that stabbed nezuko back at the demon slayer headquarters. Their mother was changed that night, when she came back to take out the rest of her family. Also, they don't explain in the show but in the manga, genya and sanemi have a rare type of blood known as Marechi, which is intoxicating to demons can cause demons to lose focus, during combat, and thats also another reason Sanemi has all those slashes on his body

Crystal

I really need you guys to stop referencing “writers” lolol. These anime are based on Manga from one author. So the whole story (arcs/characters/art style/ world building/pacing/plot ect.) all come from one person (typically). Koyoharu Gotouge is the Mangaka (manga author) of Demon Slayer. Animation studios just work on bringing panels to screen in a way that makes sense for the medium and refining/expanding on the art that was already there.

Mari

Genya couldn't slash that Demon's neck because like he said, he couldn't do a breathing technique. Genya has another awesome unique technique though, and it was slightly revealed in this episode. And yeah just to echo some comments here, this anime is based on a Manga so there's only an Author and Artist not writers. Koyoharu Gotouge did the art and story of Demon Slayer and its just the Animation company brought it to life for us. AoT and Demon Slayer Mangaka are my favorites. Brilliant minds.

Nilo Hiroki

It’s a “writer” ya guys.. not a group of people (writers) - think some people in this comments provide more details. Anyway, enjoy it as always

Kyle

This anime is like oprah you get a sad backstory, you get a sad backstory we all get sad backstories

Ceeyon

like the kid in the drum mansion🥁🩸

Tom Murray

Hot take: If they’re doing sub for the next, I think they could be pleased with waiting on Vinland Saga for their next dub. The English VA for Vinland Saga is much better than most popular anime’s English Dubs IMO, not as cringey or displaced and likely will mean less distaste for the sub purists. I’d say get another popular one out of the way that has lesser quality English Dub for their for vtheir next sub watch. Like making the most out of what an anime has to offer, while also giving the crew a break from sub when they need it and keeping the viewers engaged

Chosos Wife

I am a sub purist so I have nothing to say 🤣 i would prefer them all in sub but I think the voice acting for mha and vinland are best in sub. But I dont really care either way because I watch the watch along and sync my own sub version so

Storm

You see Genya's brother in the end of S1, he is the one that was beating up Tanjiro and Nezuko

Aevel

Sanemi (Genya's Brother) is one of my favourite characters, but it's hard to not love them all. Definitely my favourite Hashira I think.. him or Gyoumei. It's also really easy to forget how YOUNG these characters are. Tanjiro is what? 16? Tokito is 14. And Mitsuri is like.. 19-ish? I forgot their actual ages and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Tania R

DD was right on the money looking that up - Genya Shinazugawa’s brother is Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira! 🌪️⚔️ He’s the white spiky-haired one who always looks a little on edge 😅 - and the same guy who tested Nezuko back at HQ (and got that legendary Tanjiro head-butt for it 🤕😂). Knowing the tragedy with their family later really puts his intensity into perspective. 💔

Aria Isara

Question for those who understand Japanese: I switched to Japanese with French subs last week (because now I sync with Netflix and they only have French subs) and I've noticed that the French subs contain a lot of slang and very familiar language, it's way more lively and colourful than the English subs. So I wanted to know which subs reflect better the Japanese dialogues?

Tania R

Just to clarify something fun about Hantengu - the tiny terrified one you keep spotting is actually the real Upper Four of the Twelve Kizuki (he is not always tiny it's just a form he hides himself in). The others are splits of him created by his Blood Demon Art: Sekido (anger ⚡), Karaku (pleasure 🌪️), Aizetsu (sorrow 🌊), and Urogi (joy 🪽). So the 'source demon' you were talking about is actually Hantengu himself - the rest are manifestations of his power.

Luna

Great reaction guys, but just a heads up MQ, Genya’s mom wasn’t always a demon. She got turned into a demon that night & ended up attacking her family. No demons can walk in the sunlight, but you’ll be told soon why & how Genya is the way he is now.

bluehef

Vinland Saga would be an amazing watch!! We have to see this one guys !!

Rawaby 1204

I believe they consider Hunter hunter too , but i like the idea of focusing on which anime is better with sub or dub since they seem to watch sub-dub-sub.. we need to remember that while voting instead of focusing on what we want to see first

nessa

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ana

Great reaction. And now y’all see why sanemi went so hard on nezuko. His own mother who turned into a demon killed her own children. Especially showing what kind of a mother she was. Sanemi couldn’t if his own mother couldn’t fight it how could nezuko? And it helps you understand his character even more. Also insane how he had no skills and took on a demon. Also genya has no breathing techniques and that’s why he uses the gun because he can’t cut through with a sword. Next backstory this season is brutal I cry everytime. Can’t wait

PokeTheBear

You have seen Genya's brother before at the Hashira meeting in season 1, the white haired guy from the flashback is a Hashira, He was the one who stabbed Nezuko in the box in front of the master trying to tempt her into biting him.
